Naples is a fun and nice area to paddleboard in!

Friendliest and most professional stand-up paddleboard (SUP) rental I have ever done! Perfect gear pickup location right next to the water. Nico on the RL team who we dealt with was awesome, he was stationed in the company van just a short (1min walk) from the water and was there early, had great quality paddleboards with some built in storage, and better still RL Paddle provides waterproof containers you can fasten to the board free of charge (perfect to bring your phone/water/sunscreen out on the water) - what an awesome and thoughtful company! My family and I will definitely use them again if we ever want to paddleboard in the Long Beach area! Highly recommend!!!

Nico was so helpful from beginning to end. I found him on Yelp and he was quick and efficient with communication thru the booking process. We met him at a great spot where there is plenty of parking and right next to the water. We went with our kids so Nico was great about providing instructions and safety tips to get us going. He gave us the option of going with us to give a tour and be available to assist (how awesome!), but we decided to try to venture on our own. Paid via credit card at the end, and it was a breezy process, even with 3 kids. Highly recommend!

Super easy and friendly experience. It was only my second time paddling and I had a blast. Worth it.

This review is for the paddle board rentals!…read more My 2 friends and I tried to book the paddle boards online the day prior. For some reason we were only able to book one, even when trying on different devices/ browsers. We tried calling but weren't able to get through so we decided to just go in person the next day. For our reservation, we were texted the instructions on where to park & how to get down to the right dock. The instructions were easy to follow. Despite the online reservation not working, we were still able to get 3 paddle boards! After signing a waiver and paying, the staff will give you a life jacket, measure the paddles according to your height, and give a quick tutorial on how to get onto the board. It was my first time paddle boarding and it was pretty easy to learn! We did a 2 hour rental (which is plenty of time) and had a lot of fun going through the recommended path and using the current to drift back. For the 2 hours it was about $30 which was more than worth it. There is a locker (without locks) where you can leave your clothes/ other items. If you want to bring a water bottle or other personal items that are ok to get wet, there is a bungee cord at the top of the board to secure those items in place. There are also restrooms with flush toilets at the dock. This experience was honestly one of my favorite parts of the weekend and I would highly recommend. I just hope they are able to get their online reservation system fixed for a smoother booking process!

We called to check if we could switch days and they were quick to let us know we could. Perfect. Check-in was smooth. We were provided a quick training and we were off. We rented for the day and took advantage of exploring the Columbia river. Pontoon Boat was in great shape and had a larger engine so we were able to make decent time to get out to the gorge. It was a gorgeous day and we couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend, but plan ahead (we attempted to rent on another occasion and they were booked).

Our instructors were Rose and Margot; both were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient! They even helped me when I fell into the water (yeah, I'm not embarrassed to admit it... I totally fell in the water, haha!). It was totally my fault but both were quick to help me and they did such a great job not making me feel bad about it. Helpful Tips: * If you're taking a class, know that the kayak, the paddle and the life vest are provided. * If you plan to bring your phone with you on the kayak, make sure to bring an airtight bag to keep your phone in it. We had one already but I saw that they sold them in their store, too! Oh, and it's worth mentioning... the company was very understanding even though we arrived five minutes late (our GPS turned us around and we got lost heading to the class). Of course, try your best to avoid being late, but it was great knowing they were understanding about it. It made us feel extremely comfortable! My wife and I are definitely coming back!

He did a great job correcting our strokes. It was clear he had the knowledge of the sport as well as the understanding to be able to offer corrective feedback. I have a service dog and they showed great flexibility in working with me and my dog in and out of the water. It was well worth the money. Overall, my experience with Alder Creek was phenomenal.

Those shelves once held the magic where the cheap and quirky gleamed, Now the prices sit there towering far higher than I dreamed. Now the swell of cost has smothered that old familiar spark, And taking all the kiddos' toys? That's what really hit the mark. There is no dedicated parking, so finding a spot to park can be challenging at times. There are also a lot of unhoused people in the adjacent neighborhood. There is a lot of stuff here! It's actually a little overwhelming to try to navigate the store because there are literally racks and shelves of stuff everywhere. So Probably not the best place if you get claustrophobic easily. My favorite part about this place is definitely the bargain basement. You can sell your stuff, find good deals, and even rent ski and snowboard equipment! This place is basically a local REI with the chance to sell used equipment and score a good deal in in their bargain area. Check it out if you have a chance.

I took the Ridgefield Bachelor Island Circumnavigation Class…read more Overall, I would really give it 4/5 stars, but here I gave it 5 stars because I felt the 4 was really too subjective and I did not have enough objectivity to my reasoning. It was really a personal preference, as stated below. The instructor/guide, Peggy, was great! She was knowledgeable, helpful, funny, and catered the class to us (all 2 of us! well, 3 if you count my service dog!) What I got out of it? I got a lot of practice on my paddling. Peggy was great in making me learn my body the whats and whys of what I was doing wrong, which, is a much better way of learning than just being told. She guided me to the answer, but I still had to figure it out, which I did, and I now am more able to correct my own errors. Whenever there is a disabled person is a class, and one with a service dog, it can stress others out. Peggy handled it like a pro - as if she dealt with this all the time (and I know she doesn't!) It was welcoming and comforting to know how well we were going to be taken care of. So why did I give it 4 stars and not 5? Completely, 100%, subjective opinion. Boring. This is not a route I would take on my own, nor would I take the class again, mainly because there isn't a whole lot to see. For working on kayaking skills it's a 5/5. Making it an exciting adventure, a 4/5. This has nothing to do with the instructor (she did a great job, and I learned about the island, about wire dams, etc). It's more that it is just not something I would want to repeat. Would I recommend it? Yes! it is a great class after the beginner skills class, because you really have to work on all of the skills. Overall, Alder Creek has been great to work with and I can't wait for my next class (in 2 weeks!)
