This was a master bath remodel and conversion of office space into a walk-in closet. Rolando came highly recommended by a friend. Don't get me wrong, he is a nice guy and this renovation project would have received 4 stars...until the end of the project. We had to have him re-do the ceiling texture for one. And they failed to texture another area of the wall for no apparent reason so had to come back to do that small area. And that is when it all went south. He wanted his final payment which was over $4K. I told him that my husband wanted to see the finished product before final payment. He didn't like that. He literally told me "You can't hold my final payment for that small area of texture. I don't want to drive back up here to get the payment." Well, last I checked, the customer gets the final word. Just to get him gone I paid him. BIG MISTAKE. Don't make the mistake of what I did. We have since discovered that the insulation above the bathroom was never finished. He tried to deny it, but my husband had pictures. When he sent out his guys to do the remaining insulation they broke our HVAC ducting in not one, but two separate areas. OMG! So rather than our house being cooled, our attic was being cooled. My husband texted him about that and gee, NO RESPONSE. My husband fixed that. Then we discovered that no GFCI switch was put in at the outlet right next to the sink. Really? Kind of important. He also totally messed up the niche I requested built next to the toilet for the toilet paper roll. My husband fixed that as well. And then we have since discovered that his workers completely tore up the doorframe area going into our closet. They covered the holes with mismatched putty of some sort but never painted it. So guess what we get to add to our list of fixes? And on that subject, his painting is entirely too expensive. We opted to paint ourselves. But on a positive note, his guy that does the cabinetry building gets 5 STARS!!! His work is beautiful! So learn from me: if you choose to use Rolando and RL Custom Homes do NOT pay him until you are 100% sure all work has been completed and completed properly. read more
