RJS Tree Service - RJS tree service - Tree Services Near Me - West Milford, New Jersey

Hired them to cut cut down trees and remove/grind stumps. Stump grinding was $1200.00. extra Took 2 1/2 hours to grind them down. This is the mess they left in my yard. Called and they said clean up was not included for the stumps only the trees. Told me that they could send a crew to clean up for an additional fee. $1200.00 and an extra fee to remove the mess? They left the stumps too high which resulted in the mounds of shavings. Clearly they should be responsible for the mess they created. But refused to properly address the problem. Anyone need shavings? I've got about a yard of them in total. Avoid them. Customer satisfaction clearly isn't in their vocabulary. read more

RJS removed a diseased tree near my driveway, trimmed off a large dead limb, and removed a number of saplings in other locations around the property. Paul's estimate was clear and fair. The crew completed the job and cleared away debris and sawdust from my driveway. RJS took care of arranging for the town permit, and they had good communication with me regarding scheduling the estimate and the work. Paul is very easy to work with. I am a multiple-return customer. I keep coming back to RJS because they're just THAT GOOD. read more

We met with John to talk about the work we need. Then George came with his crew the next day and did an excellent job. Our trees are now looking great and it really improves the look of our home setting. Great people to work with. Highly recommended! read more

These guys were very good! Came quickly with a fair estimate. Day before we were scheduled, they called to confirm their time. Arrived before their scheduled time. Paul and his team quickly got to work. Took down 5 trees, all with obstacles. One was on the neighbors property which presented its own challenges. Also two dead ones were sandwiched between a shed and a fence. They used their crane to pick out those dead ones from a location over a hundred feet away . It was a long day but stayed till the end including clean up. Highly recommended- excellent service, fair price, lots of expertise. Very courteous of their customers' needs. read more

If you are in need of tree removal or tree pruning, I strongly recommend RJS tree service. The office staff was polite and efficient. The work crew was courteous and professional. They took extra care to protect the property especially since my property was difficult to maneuver. I had 6 trees removed 2 topped and a few pruned. They cleaned my property and left very little trace that they had a crane on the lawn. The price was reasonable and they kept me informed as to when they would do the job. I cannot say enough to praise their work and professionalism. As far as I'm concerned you cannot go wrong with RJS! George Zindel. Hewitt, NJ read more

Very professional and did a great job! Crew cleaned up as if nothing happened and they stayed on top of everything! read more

RJS has an Excellent crew that worked together to get a huge job done. It required a crane to lift the trees over the house to remove them, and they were outstanding for the job. I can't say enough about how impressed we were at the job they did. Prompt and Professional. read more

These guys were awesome! They showed up when they said they would, did an awesome job, and didn't leave until they made sure my yard was all cleaned up. While that may not sound like a big deal...it is! I have used tree services in the past that do not clean up after themselves!! And Paul, who I believe is the owner, gave me a great price. Honest, reliable and professional. read more

Had firewood delivered earlier in the season (11/2021). Satisfied with quality of wood. Wanted to re-order. E-mailed on their website and called 3 times. They didn't call back for almost a month. Told me they'd deliver this past Saturday in the AM (1/14/2022). I waited until 3PM in the afternoon. They were a "NO SHOW". No delivery. No call they weren't coming. I called their offices before 3PM, since they were open until 3PM. Left a message. Nobody called back. I guess I'll be using another vendor from now on. read more

My entire neighborhood used RJS this Fall and everyone was so happy with Paul and his crew. I highly recommend these guys. Fast estimates, great pricing and quick scheduling. read more

Ordered 2 cords of firewood from this company 2 months ago (late September). They told me it would be about a month before delivery. I called several times and messaged them on their website in late October. Kept getting voice mails. No return calls. On a Saturday afternoon in early November, they called and left a message when we wanted the wood delivered. I was out, as I wasn't waiting by the phone for them to call. I called back later that day when I got home and left them a message & phone number for delivery times. I've called 2X and messaged them 2X since. No return calls. They did this to me last year also. Six (6) times I contacted them. No return calls. They obviously don't know what customer service is, and are a terrible business to deal with, since they advertise they have the best firewood in the area. I think the company is operated by a bunch of clowns that couldn't find their rear ends with both hands. They either need someone to handle calls in their office, or tell the person who has a cleaning service on the caller I.D. to either answer the phone or get another job. If they were the last firewood delivery service around, I'd never recommend them to anyone. read more

On June 12, 2014, I received a written quote from Paul at RJS to do some pruning of the trees on my property. After numerous attempts to schedule the work to be done, I was finally told by the Office Manager (his wife) that they could not honor the work order, as Paul quoted the price too low! I left message after message for Paul to call me and he would not return the call! Finally and reluctantly, his wife conferenced him in with me. He told me that if I wanted that price, I would have to wait until January, 2015 because he was too busy with other, higher paying, customers! Pruning trees in the winter??? Really?? I have a business, and if I misquote a price, I would honor the work and the price - that is the professional thing to do. But, he refused! I would advise people to steer clear of doing business with this company read more

We had a large pine uproot and topple over during Sandy. We collected several estimates. One company didn't even bother to come to give us one. RJS however, gave us an estimate with a fair price. They called before they arrived to do the job and they where there when they said they were going to be. They obviously knew what they were doing handling the tree. Plus, they cleaned up after themselves so I didn't have to. I was very pleased with their work. I would use RJS again for any tree problems in the future. read more

No one showed for the estimate. I called wondering why and still no call back. Seeking services elsewhere. This is a terrible way to conduct business! read more

We had two dead oak trees removed , one right next to power lines leading into our house. They gave a fair price, left our yard completely clean. I'd use them again and would recommend them to a friend. read more

Lorraine in the office was courteous and the nicest. Paul and his team of guys were on time, professional, cleaned up after the work and went the extra mile to provide top notch customer service. They removed 3 giant trees for us and did a phenomenal job with the best price around. RJS will be saved as a contact for sure! Highly recommend! read more

RJS Tree Service is outstanding! From start to finish, we had an excellent experience working with Paul, Loraine and the crew. Very professional and genuinely nice people. Even though it was an especially busy season due to many storms, Paul was still able to come by to provide a thorough estimate of the work we needed. The quote was in line with what we were expecting. The crew did an outstanding job removing our trees and large branches, all the while protecting our home and yard. After, they cleaned up the yard and took away all remnants of the job. The stump removal was completed quickly too. Overall, we highly recommend RJS Tree Service. read more

Beware of false promises. Seniors especially. Make sure to hold on to your invoices-not to be trusted.

We hired them to remove 3 trees and grind the stumps. They removed the trees and told us their grinding machine was broken and they'd come back later that week to take care of it. We paid for the job in full. It's now almost 4 months later and they never came back despite weekly calls to them. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy business. read more

RJS had a great team come by and cut down an 80 ft. pine tree that was dying. The guys were great and cleaned up after themselves. Unfortunately, they parked the truck in the driveway on my pavers, and when I ask them if the truck leaked oil they said no. They left though, and there was an oil stain and rubber tire marks all over the driveway. When I reached out to RJS to have the driveway cleaned they kept telling me Matt would come by to clean, but after many emails back and forth and 4 weeks later, still nobody has come to clean the driveway and stopped returning my emails and phone calls. So much for customer service. I will never use this company again because obviously they don't care about the customer, they just want that check. read more

Company was fast to give an estimate and cut down tree. They promised to be back within the week to remove the stump. After 11 months and MANY messages left (not returned) the stump is still with us. The only phone call that was returned is when I left a message sounding as if I needed an estimate on a tree removal. I would never recommend this company as they do not return phone calls or follow through with their job! Very disappointed. read more

We had them come to remove a tree in our backyard. The tree fell on our retaining wall and broke it. He told us he would be back later that day to fix it. When I called a few day later, I was told that they were looking for the blocks and told them to just go with a color that would come close which they said they had. Well its now over 3 weeks later and they still have not fixed it or called. Guess I will have to hire my landscaper now to fix. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

RJs tree service was the worst experience I have ever encountered hiring a contractor. When they were taking the tree down a branch went through my fence and despite the promise of fixing it they never returned or returned a phone call. The only encounter I had with the business owner Richard Slifer he got into an argument with my 82 year old mother called her a filthy pig among other words that I will not even say caused so much stress stay far away from this company very unprofessional Paul who came and did the estimate and the guys that work for him we're very nice and respectable but the owner has no couth read more

What a bunch thieves!! These guys came flying in our driveway the morning after Hurricane Sandy because they saw that our house had been hit hard by a huge tree. They gave us a price of $9,000.00 to remove the one tree on the house and $2,000.00 for another was that was leaning on another smaller tree( and that was without cleaning it up)Their attitude was take it or leave it! Our insurance company who advised us to remove the tree immediately to prevent further damage to house was in shock along with everyone we told the story too.(and believe me we told everyone) We received 2 more estimates both for around $3,800.00 ....including clean up! I suppose they prefer to rip people off during a crisis and make a killing then be fair to those in need. That kind of business ethic will not get you very far in life. I will tell everyone I know what I think about RJS Tree Service...Bad Bad Bad business. read more
