The crew completed the job and cleared away debris and sawdust from my driveway. RJS took care of arranging for the town permit, and they had good communication with me regarding scheduling the estimate and the work. Paul is very easy to work with. Hired them to cut cut down trees and remove/grind stumps. Stump grinding was $1200.00. extra Took 2 1/2 hours to grind them down. This is the mess they left in my yard. Called and they said clean up was not included for the stumps only the trees. Told me that they could send a crew to clean up for an additional fee. $1200.00 and an extra fee to remove the mess? They left the stumps too high which resulted in the mounds of shavings. Clearly they should be responsible for the mess they created. But refused to properly address the problem. Anyone need shavings? I've got about a yard of them in total. Avoid them. Customer satisfaction clearly isn't in their vocabulary. read more

If you are in need of tree removal or tree pruning, I strongly recommend RJS tree service. The office staff was polite and efficient. The work crew was courteous and professional. They took extra care to protect the property especially since my property was difficult to maneuver. I had 6 trees removed 2 topped and a few pruned. They cleaned my property and left very little trace that they had a crane on the lawn. The price was reasonable and they kept me informed as to when they would do the job. These guys were very good! Came quickly with a fair estimate. Day before we were scheduled, they called to confirm their time. Arrived before their scheduled time. Paul and his team quickly got to work. Took down 5 trees, all with obstacles. One was on the neighbors property which presented its own challenges. Also two dead ones were sandwiched between a shed and a fence. They used their crane to pick out those dead ones from a location over a hundred feet away . Had firewood delivered earlier in the season (11/2021). Satisfied with quality of wood. Wanted to re-order. E-mailed on their website and called 3 times. They didn't call back for almost a month. Told me they'd deliver this past Saturday in the AM (1/14/2022). I waited until 3PM in the afternoon. They were a "NO SHOW". No delivery. No call they weren't coming. I called their offices before 3PM, since they were open until 3PM. Left a message. Nobody called back. I guess I'll be using another vendor from now on. read more

Ordered 2 cords of firewood from this company 2 months ago (late September). They told me it would be about a month before delivery. I called several times and messaged them on their website in late October. Kept getting voice mails. No return calls. On a Saturday afternoon in early November, they called and left a message when we wanted the wood delivered. I was out, as I wasn't waiting by the phone for them to call. I called back later that day when I got home and left them a message & phone number for delivery times. I've called 2X and messaged them 2X since. No return calls. They did this to me last year also. Six (6) times I contacted them. No return calls. They obviously don't know what customer service is, and are a terrible business to deal with, since they advertise they have the best firewood in the area. I think the company is operated by a bunch of clowns that couldn't find their rear ends with both hands. They either need someone to handle calls in their office, or tell the person who has a cleaning service on the caller I.D. to either answer the phone or get another job. If they were the last firewood delivery service around, I'd never recommend them to anyone. read more

While that may not sound like a big deal...it is! I have used tree services in the past that do not clean up after themselves!! And Paul, who I believe is the owner, gave me a great price. On June 12, 2014, I received a written quote from Paul at RJS to do some pruning of the trees on my property. After numerous attempts to schedule the work to be done, I was finally told by the Office Manager (his wife) that they could not honor the work order, as Paul quoted the price too low! I left message after message for Paul to call me and he would not return the call! Finally and reluctantly, his wife conferenced him in with me. He told me that if I wanted that price, I would have to wait until January, 2015 because he was too busy with other, higher paying, customers! Pruning trees in the winter??? Really?? I have a business, and if I misquote a price, I would honor the work and the price - that is the professional thing to do. But, he refused! We had a large pine uproot and topple over during Sandy. We collected several estimates. One company didn't even bother to come to give us one. RJS however, gave us an estimate with a fair price. They called before they arrived to do the job and they where there when they said they were going to be. They obviously knew what they were doing handling the tree. We had them come to remove a tree in our backyard. The tree fell on our retaining wall and broke it. He told us he would be back later that day to fix it. When I called a few day later, I was told that they were looking for the blocks and told them to just go with a color that would come close which they said they had. RJS had a great team come by and cut down an 80 ft. pine tree that was dying. The guys were great and cleaned up after themselves. Unfortunately, they parked the truck in the driveway on my pavers, and when I ask them if the truck leaked oil they said no. They left though, and there was an oil stain and rubber tire marks all over the driveway. When I reached out to RJS to have the driveway cleaned they kept telling me Matt would come by to clean, but after many emails back and forth and 4 weeks later, still nobody has come to clean the driveway and stopped returning my emails and phone calls. So much for customer service. I will never use this company again because obviously they don't care about the customer, they just want that check. read more

The only phone call that was returned is when I left a message sounding as if I needed an estimate on a tree removal. When they were taking the tree down a branch went through my fence and despite the promise of fixing it they never returned or returned a phone call. What a bunch thieves!! These guys came flying in our driveway the morning after Hurricane Sandy because they saw that our house had been hit hard by a huge tree. They gave us a price of $9,000.00 to remove the one tree on the house and $2,000.00 for another was that was leaning on another smaller tree( and that was without cleaning it up)Their attitude was take it or leave it! Our insurance company who advised us to remove the tree immediately to prevent further damage to house was in shock along with everyone we told the story too.(and believe me we told everyone) We received 2 more estimates both for around $3,800.00 ....including clean up! I suppose they prefer to rip people off during a crisis and make a killing then be fair to those in need. That kind of business ethic will not get you very far in life.
