Diamond Cut Granite - Quartz

I can't say enough how pleased I am with our countertops! We have been working on a kitchen…read moreremodel disaster forever so I am still in shock at how quickly the countertop situation went. I was given Jeremy's phone number on Sunday, October 11 by a friend who found him online. I called Jeremy Monday morning and he told me to send pictures of my kitchen for an estimate. I sent pictures at 12:39 and had an estimate at 12:46. We couldn't go to Houston to look at the granite until Saturday morning. The inventory is huge and we walked around and around for about an hour and a half before finally making a decision. Once we picked out two slabs we sent the info to Jeremy who immediately called to set up an appointment to take measurements. Jeremy arrived at my house Monday, October 19th and scheduled installation for Wednesday October 21st. Today, Wednesday morning Douglas, Manollo and Rider show up with my countertops. These guys are the best of the best! Excellent work ethics , super polite and OMG the awesome personalities. They were in and out too fast as I was enjoying conversing with them as they worked. Again, I am still in awe that I actually have countertops already and how gorgeous they are! I will be telling everyone I know to call Jeremy and his awesome team! Now if only the rest of the house could be finished...

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Jeremy Faerman from Faerman's Construction D.B.A. Diamond Cut…read moreGranite Company. He gives great customer service over the phone, is very eager, always available, good at scheduling, and willing to meet you at the right price point, but when it came down to the actual work that was done, the quality suffered. Perhaps it was because of the crew he used that day - perhaps it was because it was the Friday before a long weekend and they simply weren't there to do their best work and instead did their fastest work - but numerous people have commented on how poor the fit and finish of our counter-top is. After they had installed our white marble counter-tops I pointed out that there were brown striped stains in certain places - I then determined they had left the thin wood template they used to cut the slabs to size, sandwiched in between the slabs while they traveled in the truck, and the rain had leached the stain out of the wood and into the marble, drip lines included. They said the stains would eventually sink into the marble and disappear, but it was so bad on one of the pieces that they used up more of our marble to remake that piece, but didn't have quite enough to make it the same size, so had to glue a small piece on the corner. But it was so late already that they rushed the work and it didn't come out well. The sink was installed using some pieces of broken plywood, screwed crooked to the inside of the cabinets to sandwich the lip in place. Not exactly 'proper installation hardware'. After that, for an additional fee I was sold a 'sealing treatment' for hundreds of dollars, which turned out to be Jeremy using a thin old rag to wipe a stone sealant liquid over the surface - except nobody cleaned the marble off first, so it still had layers of dust on it from all of the work that had been done with it that day - resulting in circular swirling scratches over the entire surface that readily appear in sunlight. One of the bar counter-tops isn't level and visibly tilts forward, one of the back splashes isn't flush, and all over the kitchen, the edge laminate seams and slab seams have chips filled with grey epoxy filler in multiple places, not to mention a couple of the chips that were in the top surfaces already when they arrived (this has to occur after delivery to the stone provider because you can tell when they have no polish on or in the chip). And those stains they said would disappear? They are, almost one year later now, still very visible. So after it all, even though Jeremy (who never came out again himself) sent an associate to check on the stains, they did nothing to rectify anything, but still demanded final payment for the work. No refund, no offer to redo or correct anything at their expense. It may be BBB time, except they aren't registered with the Bureau....

Rudy’s Flooring & Remodeling - Discolored shower after 10 showers!

Definitely DO NOT recommend. I hired him because he said he had capacity and it would be ~2 weeks…read more It took them over 2 months to finish with numerous issues and added costs. Rudy sold his services as a General Contractor but didn't do anything to actually manage the project other than organize some subcontractors. I had to PM most of it myself. He passed on his subcontractors' pricing without ever questioning it. He brought down his quotes several thousand dollars after I called different things into question. He did nothing to educate me on things that needed to be done such as sealing the marble tiles on the shower floor. I spent $25k on a bathroom renovation and the shower floor looks like crap after just a few weeks. Spare yourself and hire a different contractor! Who knows what it'll cost me now to fix it, but it won't be with Rudy.

Communication is their downfall - from the time I ordered and was told to expect it to the actual…read moretime of delivery (delivered way later than they first said they would); to them confusing me with another customer; and to having sent a different brand of materials on the day the products were installed. In any business, I expect complete transparency and they have fallen short on that. If my husband didn't pay attention to details, we wouldn't have known they had given us materials different from what we had actually ordered. If we didn't call them out on it, they probably would've never told us about it either. Another thing is, when they sent us a quote, it included removal of the carpets. When I told them that we had already removed the carpets and staples, they still did not adjust the price. They came back and just said that the original quote was already "discounted". They never mentioned which one was discounted from the previous quote. We asked them about it and nothing specific was being said about which item was actually "discounted". Again, a flaw in the communication chain. On the day of installation, even though the installers did a good job, it would've helped a lot of one of them can actually speak and understand English. They had the radio blaring. I had asked them to turn it down but I don't think they even understood what I'm saying. My husband works from home and is having conference calls all day and I'm homeschooling my kids while I'm working on my desk. And these guys doesn't seem to mind talking loudly to each other and crank up their radio. To the owner, please look into this as not all the residents you service are Spanish-speaking. I didn't want to ruffle feathers and didn't want them to take it out on me and do a poor job if I call them out, so I sent my kids outside. It's a hassle, to say the least. As much as I hate giving this kind of review and rating, I'm also obligated to speak out the truth as it is. And I hope positive changes will come out of this review.
