If you are a homeowner you need a place like this. These are the guys that fix your lawnmower and/or snow blower. They have been around for decades and I have been using them for fifteen years. They handle home and commercial equipment. If I want to sharpen my lawnmower blade I stop over. If my mower starts hard I have them give it a tune-up. Ditto for the snow blower. They are rude beyond belief here. From beginning to end. I called twice after waiting three weeks for a simple repair. Was put on hold after giving the man my ticket number. 10 minutes each time. Got back and said "it must be in the back. I'll call you back." No call back either time. Third call. Again with the rude tone. Gave him the ticket number again. Mentioned the earlier times I never rec'd a call back. "I got customers here and people are on vacation!" Dude, how about "I apologize we didn't get back to you and explain where your machine is." No -- obviously it is up to ME to understand how busy he is. Puts me on hold. Comes back -- "uh, what was that ticket number again?" I let him know that their customer service, for this customer, was atrocious. There was more, but I'll leave it at that. I chose to support my locally owned, independent shop rather than Home Depot and the like, but I'll take my business elsewhere from now on. They don't deserve my business. read more

I came in to get my snow blower tire fixed. I had trouble getting the tire back on the rim and they did it right away. Thank you RJ!

This place was great because it was so close to our house. That's about as far as it goes for the positive experiences. We have used them twice and the service got worse each time. The people at the front desk are rude and inconsiderate. The man in the back getting our equipment for us was very kind and helpful, but he was the only one. When we dropped our lawn mower off this time they said they would call before doing any work. We waited, and waited, and waited... Finally after 9 days my husband calls and the guy says no one is around to answer his question of whether the lawn mower is done or what is going on with it. (And it was regular business hours still!) The man says someone will call us the next day. So we wait and my husband finally calls them back the next day (because they didn't follow through and call us). They say the lawn mower is fixed and there was over a hundred dollars worth of work done. Yet no one called us????? When my husband expresses to the guy on the phone that he is upset that no one called us prior to doing the work the response from RJ Power was "well then we'll just sell it if you don't want it." It doesn't even belong to them!!! We finally go to pick it up and we very nicely explain to the man at the front desk that we were disappointed that no one called us prior to the work being done when they said they would and that they didn't even call us when it was done, we had to call them twice! The man didn't even apologize. He just said "well they called you on this date." Then I get the slip and it says the work was done one day after we dropped it off. Seriously?! Terrible, rude service by people that just don't care. If you are looking for a place that's close to home... perfect. If you are looking for good service and care.... don't bother. This place has enough business and they don't need yours. That is the impression I got when I stopped by to shop for a riding mower. When I walked in, the guy in charge was in the middle of a phone call. He was telling the person on the other end that he wouldn't service their "mass merchandise" mower. Evidently, they are just too busy. I actually don't have a problem with this. A person has a right to run his business the way he wants. If they don't want to service "big box retailer" mowers, that's fine. I do have a problem with the way he spoke to the person on the other line. It was clearly arrogance in a way that said without a doubt that RJ is too good to service low end mowers. The tone didn't change when I talked to the guy. Which is ironic because he was explaining how their entry level riding mowers start at about $1,200. Sounds about what I can buy at Lowes. Right in the middle of our conversation about zero-turn mowers, he (without an excuse me, hold on a second, or I'll be right back) answers a ringing phone and starts attending to the customer on the phone. I waited around a few minutes but with no indication that he was coming back to me, I left. Again, this place can do business the way they choose. But when business is good, I don't think it's good practice to treat people like crap. I wouldn't expect the service to change after the sale, so I'll stay away from RJ. Hope this is helpful. These guys are the best for my residential lawn equipment needs. Over the years I have purchased a riding lawn mower, weed whacker, leaf blower and snow blower from these guys. Their prices are reasonable compared to the big box stores (Home Deport etc.) but what sets them apart is their support and maintenance services. They are also very easy to deal with and helpful to the novice homeowner in making decisions as to exactly what piece of equipment would be best for their situation. Each and every year I send my lawnmower in for it's winter service only to have it returned in tip top shape. I've also had to send the lawnmower in during the season after screwing up the blades on a large tree root. The mower was back in my hands within 7 days and the cost was totally reasonable. For an added bonus, they can hook you up with a local guy who will pick up and deliver your equipment for a very low fee. @$30 rt!. read more

If you are a homeowner.... they really don't care about you. The only reason i have gone back is that they are so close. I have experienced bad service on three occasions. Once I asked them to service my STIHL trimmer, they said 2.5 weeks. I called them to find at 2.5 weeks to find out they needed at least another two weeks. I took it to someone else who finished it in 2 weeks. Went in there to purchase a leaf blower, they really didn't care that I was there. Didn't ask if i wanted help. I ended going to another STIHL dealer to purchase. Third time was for a tube of grease for the trimmer. Two people behind the counter shooting the breeze. No one asked what I wanted till I asked them. I was in there for awhile. Bottom line - If you like service for your stihl, go to Neimeyer. If you need stuff- just go elsewhere. Awful Customer Service & Pretty Bad Mechanical Services Too! I brought my mower in for service (fuel flush, carb cleaning - bowl and jet, oil change, check belt/drive, and service blade) $93.28. As soon as I came home, started to fill the tank and gasoline starts running out the carb bowl. Called the office (owner) explained issue. He told me I have to bring back to office for them to look at it. I tried to explain that I have a SUV and that I cannot transport with fuel leaking everywhere and asked if he could swing by after store hours and pick up using the company commercial pickup truck (l live only 2 miles away). He answered "NO" and went to suggest I caused the issue myself...also let me know that plenty of people already hate him - and recommended I get in line... that's just not how you work with customers... RJ Power Equipment has lost my business for good and I hope by reading this review, he'll lose your business too. read more

Must be nice to be able to open when the mood hits. This is the third time in 2 years that I am parked infront of rj and have been waiting for them to open. Info have a life and things to do. I try to shop small. I guess this is why Home Depot is so successful . Can I charge him for my wasted hours. If you don't want to deal with the public than don't. They have a lot of parts, but man, they just hate to be there. I too had the same experience. I went, unfortunately on Kentucky Derby day. They were all busy writing down the bets they wanted to place and i waited FOREVER. Then they said it would cost $20 to sharpen my blade. i pick it up later and they charege me $90 because they did more then what i asked!! I was livid! NEVER AGAIN. And then driving past today I see they were advertising to protect their store. Laughable. read more
