Riz Raz is a gem! First, a bit about me. I am a middle aged American man, certainly no vegetarian. We visited Riz Raz on my last night in Denmark, after three weeks of travelling all over the country. I had the Green Buffet and thought it was fantastic! There was actually too much for me to sample everything, but I liked everything I tried. The Watermelon and feta salad? Amazing! Fusion noodles ? Marvelous ! The fava bean salad? It will be on my mind until I return to Copenhagen. What a creative menu and masterful use of seasonings! I can't say enough good about this place. There are two locations which are both with walking distance of the shopping streets. Therefore Riz Raz is perfect for lunch or dinner. They have an a la carte menu, but the popular option is the buffet. I am not usually a fan of buffets because there are too many choices and I don't have the stomach to handle too much food at once. I must be getting old. . . The buffet's size is perfect for not going overboard, but still being able to have plenty to choose from. There are a few pasta dishes and pizza selections. But the true spotlight are the salads. The food was fresh and colorful. Yes, we did eat a lot but managed to stay away from the pizza and pasta. Came by for the "green buffet", which is an assortment of hummus, dips, cold dishes such as kale salad, quinoa salad, broccoli salad, etc, and hot dishes such as spinach lasagna, falafel, and mushroom pizza. Many vegan options and the ingredients were always listed in case of allergy concerns. Everything was fresh and a welcome onslaught of vegetables, something always lacking when I travel. Here's the sad part. I went there because they SPECIFICALLY advertise as having a gluten free buffet. It's even on the map that everyone gives out. And yet, no. The buffet was very small. Salads on one side, I could eat a few. And the whole other side was pizza, pasta, bread. none of which I could eat. They had no alternatives for me. And my friend that could eat it, thought it was the worst pizza he'd ever had. He had 1 bite. That's a problem. That's one wasted vacation meal I can't get back. read more

I always stop by RizRaz whenever I'm in Copenhagen. And for all those years the vegetarian/vegan buffet they offer has never disappointed. I'm not a buffet-lover in general but this food is so fresh, flavourful and varied with both cold and warm dishes. The small breads are really lovely too. The cold dishes includes fresh vegetables (yay for grated carrots!) but also hummus (wonderful), tzatziki and other sauces plus pasta and potato salads, creamy beetroots etc. The warm dishes are usually falafel (well-made), lasagna, grilled potato and pizza slices. The eat-all-you-want-price is very reasonable and the outdoor seating is highly recommended on warm evenings. Before the smoking ban it was quite awful to sit inside eating, very non-enjoyable. Being a vegetarian I'm just a sucker for a good sallad buffet, getting to choose what to put on your plate without being controlled by a menu is a good thing. Riz Raz had basically won me over upon entering, seeing the different types of salads, falafel, hummus plus much more. They have two floors with plenty of space but the actual buffet area on the bottom floor was a bit cramped for space when people were standing in line. With a good selection of salad, sauces and also warm food like the above mentioned falafel and meat (which I didn't try) plus what seemed to be a locally brewed beer you can't go wrong. They also had desserts in the form of jam and whipped cream, plus a (dry) chocolate cake. Good thing I'm more into food than dessert I guess. The sound level was quite loud upstairs. As I understood it they had different types of buffets depending on if you are there during the morning or afternoon. This was during the afternoon buffet. Prices were also good for being Copenhagen. In a town where everything, especially food, is expensive if you're an American tourist, Riz Raz's all-you-can eat buffet for just 79 DKK (just under $15, though who knows what exchange rates will be like) for lunch is a wonderful deal (sandwiches pretty cost that much in Copenhagen). My family just went for the buffet so I can't speak to any of the meat dishes, but all of us really enjoyed the buffet. There are fresh vegetables, lots of noodles and pasta, great falafel, delicious hummus and other dips, and salad. The eggplant lasagna and falafel were particularly stand-out. I would avoid the pizza: it was soggy and bland. This great-value buffet filled us up and I would highly recommend it for lunch. If you are in Copenhagen and you are on a budget, you can't go wrong with Riz Raz. On my first day in Copenhagen, I walked through the streets and it showed me on thing about the city: Copenhagen is expensive! So, there I was, searching for a place where my 150DKK would leave me full and happy until the evening. I was also not about to give up and eat a sausage or kebab! After a frantic search, everyone online led me to Riz Raz! I ended up at the branch near Strøget. I was there pretty early and the staff had just brought out the dishes for the buffet. The restaurant is located in a busy pedestrian area, you can both sit inside and outside. Also, there are plenty of bars and cafés around if you fancy a coffee, drink or dessert afterwards. NOTE: you go to Riz Raz for the vegetarian buffet. Yes, this V word might be a turn off to a few. But, believe me, me being a carnivore myself, the dishes are very tasty and filling. Don't worry, they also offer meat and fish dishes but, expect that these dishes are waaay more expensive that eating food from the buffet! Included in the buffet are an assortment of cold salads and dips, such as potato salad, bulgur salad, tzatziki and cut veggies. There are also warm dishes like the falafel, lasagna and roasted vegetables. The quality of the food was excellent! I especially liked the pita bread triangles and the dips (the hummus is delicious!). Everything was fresh and really hot. I am not a carrot fan, but my favorite dish was a carrot and coconut salad! My GOSH! I had THREE servings!!! The falafel was amazeballs too! The only downside for me is that they were a little slow when it came to serving drinks. I actually got my beer mid-meal already. But, that's probably also because the place was starting to get busy and I opted to sit outside. Other than that, the staff is super friendly and they helped me with all dishes and my questions. Honestly, the prices are very, very reasonable especially for Copenhagen. The lunch buffet is 89DKK and you can go as often as you like. The drinks are cheap as well; they offer a house wine and have different beers on tap. Overall, a must eat place while you are in Copenhagen! Don't shy away from the vegetarian buffet! If you're looking for affordable vegetarian eats in Copenhagen, Riz Raz is a great place to go. My family of four went on a Sunday evening and enjoyed the vegetarian buffet (they have other meat/poultry/seafood ala carte options that we didn't try, but it seemed the table next to us enjoyed the calamari). The buffet was 89 SEK (~$14 USD) had crispy falafel, spinach lasagna, potatoes, a squash stew-like dish, several bean/green salads, hummus and similar spreads, two types of pizza, and an interesting bread that was a cross between pizza crust and pita. Between the four of us we probably tried everything and while nothing was knock-your-socks off amazing, nothing was disappointing, and several things (the falafel, bread, hummus, and stew) were simply good. The best thing I had was probably the chili sauce which I ended up putting on nearly everything. It's probably on the truly spicy end for most people, but has great flavor in addition to the heat. (Note: I routinely eat jalapeños and add habanero sauce to my dishes, so my spice tolerance tends to be at least a bit higher than average). It's also a cute place with far more seating than I expected, free wifi (ask the staff for the password), and friendly service. If you're hungry when you go here, the money spent will be worth it. read more

So first things first, the food at the lunch buffet was delicious and all vegetarian (mostly vegan dishes) which was great! The staff was nice and had a vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a fairly quiet street and in a basement. The lighting in the room makes it a bit cozy and relaxing vibe. Back to the food, the place felt fresh and clean with a variety of options on the menu and the buffet had much to choose from. We found it a fair price for being 89 kr and having it be all you can eat. When we finished up, we went up to the cashier and got our check. We were surprised with a 30kr surcharge for water. "Quite OK" is probably the accurate way to describe how I feel about Riz Raz. Food is OK and price is OK. Nothing exciting, but I left full and had no bad impressions. I came for the veggie buffet. There's a hot selection (of which the falafel and okra were the most flavourful and the lasagna and pasta were a bit mushy), and a cold selection (slaw, beats, the usual salad options). Really good example of low expectations being turned around. This started out as a duck in to us a restroom while out Christmas shopping. We decided to grab lunch and sat down at Riz Raz. Oddly enough this is more known for a vegetarian buffet, but we all ordered burgers. They turned out to be possibly the best burgers I've ever had in Denmark. Perfectly cooked and good meat to bun ratio. Fries were nice and crisp with this nice spicy chili mayo. I visited this place as an American on holiday. My travel guide sent me here, saying it was the best value in town. The vegetarian lunch buffet (79 DKK) or dinner buffet (99 DKK) allow you to eat as much as you want, with as many plates as you want. The food quality is better than what you'd expect from all you can eat. The falafel is good, decent pizza if it's available, hummus, tzatziki, baba ganoush for pita bread. The vegetable dishes were superb. The wine is overpriced. They have craft beer at reasonable prices, which is great if you need a break from the standard Carlsberg that is everywhere. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is the horrible service. We visited twice as we were trying to stretch our money. However, both times we finished our first plate of food before our beverages came. The second time I just walked up to the bar until they gave me my carafe of water. Obviously the buffet is self service, but I need beer/water with my meal. Good vegetarian option if you can wait for beverage service. read more

It's RizRaz, it's a Copenhagen vegetarian staple. In all the years I've been coming here for an all you can eat vegetarian buffet, it has never once disappointed in the slightest. The food is always fresh and well stocked with an excellent selection of dips and salads (and pasta and potato salads too, not just a cop out bunch of lettuce leaves) and the warm food is always well cooked and flavourful, usually it's falafels, lasagne, potato wedges and roasted root veges. Vegan and gluten free options are also clearly labelled. Service is always top notch. On my most recent visit all of their card machines were down, so my friend and I were given free drinks while we waited for that to be sorted.
