The kids could just bowl and not be distracted by a million pinball games and video games. And there was beer and drinks available at the Lafayette club. Awesome bowling alley. Old school ball returns, gorgeous masking units, and pencil and paper scoring. Lanes and pins are well maintained. Pinsetters are quick and operated with no issues. Plenty of historical items on display: old pins, balls, plaques, signs, and trophies adorn the walls. Riverwalk truly is a living history museum of bowling. Be aware that parking is a bit tight. I love Riverwalk. It's a super authentic old school bowling alley, that's well maintained. The staff is friendly and nice. They sell used pins and balls for cheap. And it's super inexpensive. Plus it's attached to the Lafayette Club (cash only) so you can grab a pitcher and bring it in to the alley. All in all a great little spot. read more

I have gone bowling twice. Really a nice family run establishment. Everything about the place extrudes authenticity and a quality local experience. They are a traditional candle pin bowling alley. There are no computers- just paper scoring. The management was really helpful in explaining to us the scoring. the beer was cheap- about 3.5 for a Sam Adams and a pitcher was 10. Like others said it has a dive bar vibe but it's perfect place to go with friends or family. no Lazers or arcades. Just classic blowing. I will return. read more

Mark is great! He taught me how to bowl, and it really helped! My boyfriend bowls and I wanted to learn how to so I could stop embarrassing myself and be a part of a world he adores. Can't thank that guy enough! Riverwalk has an air of family, of home, and it's a wonderful feel, like you're stepping back in time. It's refreshing to bowl at a no-frills homey place, instead of going to some place where they look down at their noses at you when you ask to rent shoes lol. Everyone there is wonderful! My friends and I bowled at riverwalk lanes in amesbury. The tucked away feel and location right in the downtown was awesome! The service was amazing, very nice people there. The bar attached was really fun as well, nice bar tender and fast service. The lanes were clean, still felt original and well taken care of. The machinery to sweep pins and replace was top notch and left us with no waiting time. Overall, best place to come any night in amesbury! I would recommend this to anyone! read more

i went to this place tonight with my Godson. it's like stepping into yesteryear. a small place with old fashioned equip. but everything you need. keeping score on paper like the old days, nothing electronic, but also not 100 silly arcade games, just about 8 alleys i believe it was. the parking was a little difficult as its angle parking on a dead end street, but now that i know where the place is there is plenty of public parking within the town square. we played 2 games for the two of us, cost $17 all together, not sure what the average is but seemed reasonable. has an electronic modern jukebox, didn't know those existed anymore. tv with the bruins game on, what more could you want? love this place and plan to go back anytime i'm in the area! read more
