I returned a Xmas gift for a relative here a few days ago and the woman at the counter seems new. That's okay. What's not okay was her and her supervisor throwing veiled hate for each other as she struggled to produce a gift card/store credit in exchange for the clothing I was returning without a receipt. I mean the hate they had was palpable and it made for uncomfortable awkward silences in-between. As for the store, it could definitely use some better organizing. One quarter of the store looked like it was in transition from the holidays. It looked terrible and uninviting. The thing that salvaged this store is that it's a tj maxx with decent selection and some good discounts. But beware of the customer servers, they got attitude.

0 Stars -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more My husband and I came to HomeSense to shop, and unfortunately, what happened at checkout completely changed the way I feel about this location. While we were checking out, Jonathan, the manager, began making homophobic comments about my husband and me, apparently not realizing that I understand Spanish. I may not look like I speak Spanish, but I understood what was being said. Hearing those comments from a manager was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I have been a loyal customer at this HomeSense since this location opened over six years ago. My husband and I genuinely love the products and the store, which makes this experience even more disappointing. It's very difficult to feel comfortable returning to a store where a manager thinks it's acceptable to make comments about customers because they are a same-sex couple. This is exactly the kind of experience that pushes loyal customers away from physical stores and toward shopping online instead. HomeSense management should take this seriously. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome or disrespected simply for shopping with their spouse.

I even got an email confirmation. No one showed up. When I tried to contact the delivery company to find out if they were late or anything I was left on hold for over 30 min with no one answering. I sent an email as well. No answer until Monday morning for which I received a response that the email I was given to contact was in fact, incorrect. My husband went to the store to get a refund as no one could tell us where our item was or when it would be delivered and then because he paid Apple Pay, they said the cards didn't match. It was his card. He had to make two round trips to get a refund when he should have been asked to just insert his card he paid with to get a refund. Not only that, nothing was done to rectify the situation. No one ever responded to find out why we didn't receive our delivery until Monday morning someone finally called me after we spent the afternoon Sunday trying to cancel and get a refund. The whole situation was a disaster. It's a shame as we have loved shopping at HomeGoods but after this disaster and a huge waste of our time (between wasting our time waiting for a delivery that never came and no one to get in contact with, to the mistake made at cashwrap where we had to return twice when we should have only had to go in once), I don't think I'll go back. Don't get delivery from this place. Nothing was done to even care about our experience either. Such a waste of my time from start to finish.

You can enter from the front (on the side facing the train station) or the back. If you need books, stationery, music or anything related to Nook...this is the place to go. What I really liked is the local recommendations. If you know some books you like, you'll see recommendations near those books for other things you might enjoy. Additionally, I geeked out on the local history books they have (right by the cafe). If the trains of Westchester are of interest to you, or anything historical from the area, there are some wonderful (and affordable) books for purchase. So glad to have a community space like this to help make the shopping district even more vibrant.

Decent Barnes & Noble location…read more This is one of those modernized locations, but not big overall. The selection was standard enough, but not as plentiful as other locations if you're just looking to browse. There are entrances/exits in both sides of the store for ease depending on which side you're coming from. If you're someone who likes blu rays/DVDs, this place had a very limited and small selection - which is better than none at all I suppose. I didn't encounter any staff, but they seemed to be busy with other customers. The general area is a little busy, with plenty of shopping options. Parking is metered street or a municipal lot. I suppose it's okay for locals looking for a quick fix or looking to order something, but I personally have no desire to come to this one again just for this store. It's not a knock against this location at all, but I'm not local and it's not worth going out of my way to come here for this alone. If you want to go to Barnes & Noble and can drive a little farther, I'd recommend going to the Mohegan Lake location (if traveling north), which is about 20-30 mins away. It's a much larger store with more options. Otherwise this one is okay.
