This is the cutest stop! We were able to sit and enjoy a lovely cup of coffee on our June Saturday morning. They have some very yummy cookies available for purchase. There is tons of seating available and service is super fast! Staff are very friendly. Built inside of an old hardware store, the ambiance feels both home-grown and vintage. There's an awesome little library, piano, gallery and drinks for later in the afternoon. My favorite was the small surprise print machine! Definitely glad we stopped!

The food is always fresh, creative and unique. The building is an old, historic building with local craftsperson's booths upstairs. If you're looking for a friendly place to come that locals love, this is the place to be. Sometimes there's music on the intimate bandstand and sometimes you might just pick up a book from the free library and enjoy a good read with your eats. In addition to really good sandwiches, you can always get a good breakfast sandwich and cuppa coffee, tea or espresso. The bagels are light and crispy outside and tender inside. I highly recommend this delightful cafe in Marlinton, WV.

Rivertown food is amazing! Nichole and Aaron pay close attention to each meal that comes out, this leads for a spectacular meal every time. For running a small kitchen; food comes out quick, fresh, and tasty. Hands down best cafe in Marlinton. Great music spot too!

This is an old hardware store they still have the shelves and the ladders on rails to get to upper shelves

Food was excellent - venue is very cool. Their menu is limited but I enjoyed everything I got there. I was in town for 5 days and I was there 4 of the 5.

Foxfire Grill - Snowshoe, WV…read more Visited in August with family and our dog while in Snowshoe, WV. Foxfire has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, which was a big plus. The setting is lovely -- Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it's still a great spot to visit. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else). The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall. The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout -- not just a little char, but fully charred. I've attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it's a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy. Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me -- enough to take off two stars. Hopefully next time the kitchen cleans up their act. Rating: (3/5) Last visited: August 2025

I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries, and it really hit the spot. Portions are generous and the flavors are satisfying, especially when you're craving something hearty and warm. It can get pretty busy, especially during peak times, so expect a bit of a wait and slower service. That said, the staff is usually friendly, and once you're seated. If you can grab a seat by the window, the village view at night is a nice bonus.
