Thank you YELP! yet again for helping me find a fantastic joint…read more Went in on a Tuesday night. Parked right across the street in a public lot. Short walk to Halpatter's. Not many tables in the bar area so... we sat right at the bar. The bartender had all kinds of attitude... in the BEST way possible. It was awesome. We started with 12 wings tossed in their buffalo sauce. They were excellent - and this coming from a wing snob. The blue cheese was very good - thick and chunky. For the main course, I got the fish and chips with an extra piece of fish. The fish was great. Fries were above average. They had music bingo (maybe a Tuesday thing?) - that was a bit much but c'est la vie. There was one dude shouting out every song and singer. My guy, get a hobby! lol Highly Recommend! If I lived in that area, I would be a regular!

Especially, the abundance of free parking in downtown Lake City. The Friday night I was there, there was music bingo and a live band. They have live music every Friday and Saturday at the outside stage. Monday is game night. Tuesday is Trivia. Wednesday they have line dancing, including classes for like $5. Thursday is Karaoke!!!! They have a "Culture of Generosity" where you can buy a beer forward. I actually got to be the recipient of one of those free beers. And of course, I paid it forward. The BEER: Seymour-Finnegan's Irish Red Ale 5.7%... smooth slightly sweet great tasting all day crushable goodness Hop Culture IPA 6.5% ABV... looks like a hazy, tastes like a west coast, definitely high in IBUs, has fruity pine nose, good if you love your IPAs extra piney, so very hop forward Pickle Sour 4.5% ABV... oh he11 yummm, I absolutely love this pickle sour. Soooo very good! Rum soaked oak barrel aged Big Hal 7% ABV... there was something I really liked about this. It is a brown ale with a whole bunch of personality Don't have the words though. Big Hal brown ale 6 8% ABV... now I know what I liked about the Rum Soaked Barrel Aged Big Hal this is an all day drinkable brown ale. LOVED IT! I can honestly say I found some fantastic Beer in Lake City, FL. What a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening.

I found Sandy's Shack by pure chance and I'm glad I did!…read more They have a great selection of beers from around the world. As a certified hop head and beer snob I had no trouble finding an eclectic selection of IPA's and APA's. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the owners and they are good people that reminds me why I like to support the "small guy". I will be back!

I guess this could be a dream come true if you're a true beer aficionado looking to fill your beer cooler with a vast selection of exotic imported and domestic flavored beers but not what you'd expect if you want to grab a 6-pack, 12 pack or case of the same beers packaged together. The staff here is very friendly and no doubt very very knowledgeable, the selection is so massive they could not tell me if they had "LandShark" in stock without referring to a computer data base - well unfortunately it was out of stock and they didn't have a delivery schedule for its return or if it would be available in the future. It seemed most of the customers could speak of the complexity and definitely did their due diligence before entering the store with a detailed list of what they were looking to purchase. I do appreciate many of these crafted beers but today I was looking for something that matched the afternoon event I had planned at the campground - my buddy was planning to drop by and we were going to down a few bottles of something less sophisticated...

We stopped in on the weekend of the Fiddler Crab festival in Steinhatchee, Fl…read more Our first choice was busy, with an hour wait, and a storm coming in, we opted for Fiddler's. We were warned that there were only 2 wait staff on at the time, and to be patient. To that, our waitress had the sweetest southern accent, her name started with an M, she was amazing. She handled her section, yes we waited but had no real complaints. The prices were a bit out of line with the food offerings. I paid $25.99 for some tender, juicy shrimp and $29.99 for a plate of "fried scallop" all were the size of a nickle and tasted like punched ray wing. I iver heard another customer state that they would like more chicken in their Chicken Alfredo, as the serving they got, 4 peices was ridiculous for the price they charge.

A very entertaining, true Florida, off the beaten path experience. While the restaurant is not the best in the world, it's pretty good and the only option on a Tuesday night that we could find. The place was crowded and we were taken care of with the right level of attention. We stayed in the newly remodeled first floor of one of the buildings. There's still lots of cleanup and re-building to do. It's a little sad to see Steinhatchee suffer so much. But glad to see folks trying to make a go of life again.

A great place to relax, enjoy quality craft beer, and soak in a fun atmosphere…read more Swamp Head Brewery delivers much more than great beer. The brewery has a welcoming, laid-back vibe, plenty of seating, and a unique setting that celebrates both Florida culture and international soccer. Watching the Ecuador match surrounded by flags from around the world made the experience even more enjoyable. The beer selection is impressive, and the tasting flight is a fantastic way to explore different styles before choosing a favorite. Every beer I sampled was fresh, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. Whether you enjoy light, refreshing pours or something more complex, there is something here for every palate. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was lively without feeling crowded, and the overall experience was excellent. If you're in Gainesville and appreciate good craft beer, a welcoming crowd, and a relaxed environment, Swamp Head Brewery is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back to try more of their beers.

When we lived in Broward, we would go to the local breweries all the time so we were excited to stumble across this place. We actually never heard of Swamp Head prior to coming here. I cannot count how many times we have been here but I know it's more than 20 times. The staff is usually very personable, friendly, and attentive. We did visit a lot more when we were new to the area but visit only about once every 3-4 months when in Gainesville. We used to bring our dog and were scolded by a staff member because she was barking at another dog nearby so we stopped bringing her. Meanwhile, dogs bark all the time in there and kids are running around screaming more often than dogs barking. So that kinda turned us off. I do not drink beer anymore but when I did, I loved their Czech themed beers and every once in a while, they had some rotating flavors that I thoroughly enjoyed. Every once and a while I will order a beer and do some extra insulin but it has to be special. This place is always busy, except if you get there earlier during the weekdays. There is plenty of outdoor seating and most times there is a food truck. They have so many events so follow their pages on social media to plan accordingly. The inside is pretty spacious but gets crowded. The prices are okay but surprisingly enough, we have had their beers cheaper at other bars in the areas. You can purchase beers and growlers to go as well.
