Went in this morning to use a gift certificate I've had for a while. Made a reservation with JR through their online reservations last night. Was greeted by everyone as I walked in, and jr sat me right away. Made pleasant small talk during the cut and shave. This was the first cut/ shave I have had in a while and Jr nailed it! First let me say that I have been going here for over a year now. I used to hate getting my hair cut. I was doing those major retail chains with the flavor of the week cutting my hair. I would end up with something along the spectrum of 'WTF, my head looks like a bowl of chili' to 'eh it's acceptable.' Then I found Riverside Shave Co and Ethan! I find myself actually looking forward to getting my hair cut! Ethan does an amazing job and I never leave the place looking anything less than amazing! This is not a shop where you are known by some fuzzy notes in a computer, but rather by a name. It is a super friendly atmosphere and all the guys working here are awesome! Wouldn't recommend going there if you're going to get a haircut with Luis, asked him for a mid fade and gave me a high skin fade, didn't even out the sides, cut my hair too short when I only asked for half an inch off, didn't listen to how I told him to cut my hair. He shouldn't be in that barber shop, worst haircut I've gotten by far. All the other barbers looked solid with the cuts they were giving but this guy Luis don't belong there. I haven't had a need to shop for a barber but now that I have a son I wanted him to experience a male barbershop atmosphere. I was taking him mostly to hairdressers (not that there is anything wrong with that) but I wanted him to have a go to person. I went to several barber shops and felt uneasy as soon as I walked in room went quiet and wouldn't even be greated..I think 1. They didn't like to do children hair cuts and 2. They don't really like women in the shop..sheesh! So then where do I take my kid?? I happen to be driving down Magnolia one day and noticed this place. So I made an appointment, and showed up and boy am I glad I did.I was pleasantly welcomed as soon as I came in..fast forward 2 years later we wouldnt go anywhere else. BRING your boys here stop going to other places trust me especially if you have boys with disabilities like mine and need a good hair cut them come here because good cuts should take a hour to hour and a half and this place was perfect for my boys and thanks to KEVIN ..so now let me tell you our short but awesome story I've been looking for a great barber to help with my boys hair cuts seems easy right wrong both my boys struggle with disabilities and some barber just don't have patients for that until I scrolled thru instagram and yelp to find this awesome place yes we did have to make a appointment but feeling welcomed and understood came for free and the pool table helped one of my boys with his adhd but most of all my oldest son he's been bullied this past year and continues to fight his neurological problem that he has and with saying that being said his self confidence was very low but I swear when Kevin booked us for last Friday I let my oldest go first and in his face was the biggest smile ear to ear his words to me were " mom I feel really good about myself I am handsome" I have never heard those words come out my sons mouth as much as I try telling him how handsome he is and because of Kevin talking to him making him feel comfortable and giving him a very very good quality hair cut even use the old school razor making him feel manly and my other son with ADHD was pleased with the pool table they played well together and got along and got a really awesome comb over and I just had to express my love to Kevin with tears in my eyes I thanked him for touching my families heart without even knowing it keep doing what your doing your meant to cut hair and touch lives I look forward to our next appointment read more

The place is extremely well maintained and it is a complete change from the spots I used to take my son to. Super professional and clean. I have been at this shop about 3-4 times. The staff are professional and offer great customer service. I felt comfortable telling the barber what look I was going for. The owner Tu really is serious about providing the best experience to the costumer. I am not form the area but when I visit this is where I go. I found the shop through their instagram page. Came in to get a cut for a party that same day and asked for a low taper and showed Junior a picture of how I wanted my haircut. I told him that I wanted to keep the length on the sides since I comb them back when I style my hair. He ended up botching my hair and shaved my sides off. They did an absolutely amazing job!!! The first time I went in, I gave Tu (the owner) little direction on what to do because I usually get my hair buzz cut and I wasn't sure what to get. Since my wife wanted me to do more with my hair, Tu said he knew exactly what I wanted from the photos I showed him. Tu (and all the other barbers), are very professional, very courteous, and experts in their field. He made me feel like one of his own family members and cut my hair as such. Afterwards, I understood why they are the best rated barbershop in all of Riverside. I had never felt as good after a haircut, and so affordable! Some people pay upwards of $50 for this kind of cut and service, and I would have happily paid that much but it was much, much less. I went to this barbershop about 3 times. My barber was Ethan. The first 2 hair cuts were good and was very pleased with the outcome. The 3rd haircut, I was due for a cut and a beard shave (1st time shaving here) Ethan literally left my beard so crooked, when I got home I had to fix it myself. Now, let's talk about the haircut. I asked for a bald taper and he just did a low small taper. He cut the top too short, and what I was very unpleased with is how he left my hair looking like a pineapple. Mind you I was there for 1 hr and a half, how did he miss all this? Overall will not be going back and I hope Ethan is more mindful when cutting hair. read more
