I was highly skeptical about Riverside as far as the shopping goes, because realistically I am in the desert. However, much to my surprise I discovered a new (for me anyway) shopping center with just about any place you can think of; I was completely overwhelmed in a good way. Riverside plaza reminds me of how a shopping center should be, as a one stop shopping experience. Really, this place has everything any one person could want to shop for, I will say without doubt it made my day and shopping all to easy. Thank you. I don't frequent Riverside area but I happened to stop by here one Wednesday morning while I waited for my dad to finish an appointment. I came right when they opened so there wasn't that many people yet, and the parking lots were still pretty empty. Probably the perfect time to go shopping since the stores are fully stocked, and still very organized. I really enjoyed shopping here, but I know I can't expect to have that same experience any other time as I'm sure it gets quite busy! read more

If you live in riverside or a near by city you already know this is a nice little shopping plaza. They have a nice variety of restaurants and shops. It's always clean and it's not too busy. Just tried wang Cho's for the first time. Delicious Korean barbecue...also let's not forget Trader Joe's and cookie Crumble. This plaza has a good assortment of stores, including but not limited to, Marshall's, Joann's, Active, Nordstrom Rack, Daniels Jewelers. It also has many places to eat, such as California Pizza Kitchen, Pick Up Sticks, Panera. The parking is all close to the shops and it is an easy to pick up something quickly, whether it be an object or lunch. I've never had a poor experience here. A friend of mine and I stopped in Friday, June 5th for a late evening Margarita and food. While they have larger spacing between the tables in the bar, it was great to see they were seating again and to see the staff was back at work. If you come for a drink and food in the bar, ask for Bertha Alicia. She is very helpful, friendly and attentive. We had a great time and she made sure to drop by our table and others in the bar, no matter how crowded it got. My favorite, close to home mall for entertainment, great food, and shopping. The parking is always ample, I love that Trader Joes is there, and the decorations around the holidays bring the season to life. The lighted Christmas Tree is my favorite. I also feel safe walking around the mall anytime businesses are open, as there is good space for visitors and lots of activity. read more

Although the Riverside Plaza has some good stores and Restaurants it is not a safe Place Homeless constantly basically attack people in the parking lot if they don't get money from you. My wife was there today and was approached she actually did not have cash and went on her way to shop, when she looked back the homeless guy smashed her car mirror and ran off. She was lucky there wasn't more that happened the Plaza does not protect their patrons so carry protection or shop elsewhere. read more

Recently we had a celebration of life for family, and needed a place that held about 25 guest afterwords. We chose El Torito because it had a location not too far out of way, and Food was perfect. And other Restaurents could not accomodate our needs that day. Our Waiter Kuko was terrific, he suggested several special Venues that we could try. And the Service was nothing short of outstanding. He turned what was a sad day for us, to much happier day. Thank you Kuko for being attentive and delivering an awesome food and dining Experience. A family get-together with my children and grandchildren at El Torito at Riverside Plaza for Sunday Brunch brought back some good memories. I had been visiting this location for many years, however, I have not been here for the last couple of years. I have always enjoyed their Sunday Brunch. I remember when the price was only around $18/person. it is now around $26.00 (with my drink [strawberry lemonade], tax and surcharge?, plus the tip, my total came out to $40.09. Times have changed. This location is always busy (they must be doing something right),which, sometimes, makes it difficult to navigate between tables and other patrons moving in the opposite direction while selecting the food.The assortment of food is great and always well prepared, however, I prefer a few more meat selections. The highlight of our meal (beside being with my children) was the service. Our server was Bertha Alicia. She was there for every thing we needed and taking care of our group of 25 people. She served all with a smile and didn't miss a beat. I thanked her as we were leaving and was surprised when she told me that this was her first day. Are you kidding me? For Riverside this is about as good as it gets, anywhere else this would be 3 stars. Good dining options, a huge movie theater and descent shopping options here. My highlight shopping wise would be Nordstrom Rack, the best food either at The Habit or Blaze. Tons of easy and free parking, all the stores and restaurants are fairly new and it is super clean here. Not too full, nice to have for the people in the IE. read more

Nice small shopping plaza. I remember when this was a mall back in the day. I'm dating myself right now, lol. My favorite place to eat is too hard to decide because I love it all. We tend to go to Ooka when we want sit down and the habit for fast food. The shopping is good because they have a Nordstrom rack. The plaza has a variety of shops and food choices. There is something there for everyone to eat. Most of the shops are closed due to the Covid outbreak but there is curbside pick up for most restaurants. I also enjoy the Vins being close because it is convenient to see a movie and then go grab groceries after for dinner or a snack. The center has a group of tables for outside dinning at the few restaurants in the middle. Overall I enjoy going to the plaza when I want to just get out of the house and walk around. Also, Sunday Brunch is awesome at El Torito. read more

I have been in this plaza before and went to pick up sticks and have been to their Starbucks inside Vons. Never again in that Starbucks but this plaza is jut great. They have so many places to eat shop and even a movie theater. I guess just the perfect plaza. You have too many options there because there is just so much. Chipotle, blaze pizza, and pick up stix are my favorite. But they have so much more CPK cake place and other restaurants. Great plaza and really nice seating area plus there is big parking spots so you don't need to worry about that. read more

Wow El Torito really pleasantly surprised us tonight. Did take a while because only the patio is open right now, but they text you so you can go to shops or sit in your car and watch some shows. We had our choices ready so we could get our food fast, but this wasn't necessary they were so fast. Within 10-15 minutes of ordering we had our full meals etc. So so so fast and delicious and the server Bertha Alicia was fantastic so positive and up beat. We took our large family to El Torito in this plaza on the evening of 4/23/2021, and it was very clean. Due to our family size and Covid restrictions, we needed to eat outside (which is fine with us, since some of our children are small). Our waiter, Kuko, was extremely pleasant and helpful, and even brought us an outside tower heater when my 6 and 8 year old were saying offhandedly that they were cold. He was PHENOMENAL, as were all the others who helped to bring us our food. I would have given this place 5 stars, if not for the rudeness of the hostess. She seemed annoyed that we had a large party and rudely told my husband that we would need to sit outside because our party was larger than 6 (again, clearly a bigger issue for her than for us). She impatiently demanded that my husband use the QR reader on his phone to scan for the menu, which we didn't want to do, then--possibly punitively--told us that we would only be allowed one menu per table. This was especially insulting when several of the people who were seated around us after we were seated had a menu for each guest at their table, regardless of party size. I'd say that the hostess just didn't like children (mine were well behaved), which is unfortunate, because for a family of my size, the bill is usually substantial, and while I can't speak for other large families, mine always leaves a large tip just because we understand the challenges of serving our family size. If we weren't tired from a family hike just before visiting this restaurant, we likely would have gone somewhere else, due to the rudeness of the hostess, but my children were hungry and ready to sit quietly at a table (having had all the wiggles out of their system from the hike), so we decided to stay anyway, and I'm glad we did, despite her attitude. Luckily, our waiter seemed to like children and was very sweet and attentive to them, and made sure they had everything they needed. He was so good to my children (and us), in fact, that my daughter asked her dad to please make sure to give him a good tip, (which we had already planned to do, but gave a larger one due to his excellent service and our daughter's request.) The food was good and my 6 year old son said, "They make the best food ever!" I'd take my family here again, despite the very rude hostess. I wish I had gotten her name, but I didn't. Hopefully, she won't be there next time. Other than her, the rest of the staff was very pleasant, helpful, and friendly. You only have to see the hostess long enough to be seated, so that helped, but still, I have to take a star off for her behavior, 1) because I don't know how to take a 1/2 star in Yelp, and 2) the hostess is the first person you see, and sets up the entire experience for most people. read more

Destiny was by far the funniest and best server I've ever had at any restaurant at the riverside plaza. Destiny was always there without me even asking and she brought a great conversation to my table that made me think for a while. I use to remember when this was just one huge mall with empty stores and the Gottschalks. Now many years later, it is a million times better than it was before. Now the place is a nice social gathering area. There are really good places to eat here, some examples are Johnny's (http://www.yelp.com/biz/johnnys-burger-no-3-riverside), Ooka (http://www.yelp.com/biz/ooka-japanese-restaurant-riverside), Chipotle, and Coldstone. Then there is the shopping, you got Reggie & Luca, Chicos, Forever 21, Active, Borders, and Gamestop. There is a Regal movie theater here. So you can do like a cute little date, go to Ookas and a movie. Hahah. And for the grocery shopping you got yourself Vons and Trader Joe's (go buy me some green tea and chocolate mochi..thanks). Every weekend there is some kind of musical entertainment in front of the movie theather. You get from pop to the oldies, some days there is like a small dance class and you can learn how to salsa. My biggest gripe with the place is all the teeny boppers. They all flock here on weekends running around, screaming obscenities, acting like retards..etc. At least there curfew is at 8:30. read more

This place has really improvement since back when I first moved here. Weekends usually have a live band or entertainment performing out by the fountain. Lots of places to eat (CPK, Chipotle, Ookas, Coldstone, etc) and to shop (Forever 21, Gamestop, etc) and of course a movie theater. Only thing neutral to me on this place is it is the 'babysitter' for most of the tweenies in the area. You'll wade through them in droves as they hang out en-masse in front of Borders and the movie theater. read more

Oh the Riverside Plaza. This place goes waaaay back. It use to be an old indoor mall. They tore that down and talk about giving this place a facelift. It is now a must go to, gotta get a bite to eat and nice threads or whatever else you wanna do when you get out of the house. I'm talking Movies, Asian food, Pizza, Burgers, Restaurants, Grocery and Convenience Stores. Parking is a little difficult at times but understandable because this is one of several hot spots in Riverside. It's where you go to feel alive and to lift your spirit. Whoot Just across the street is a Marie Callendars and the Market Broiiler! Christmas at the Plaza is lovely. A huge tree in the center of the Plaza and generally music at both ends...it's festive and colorful without being jammed, crammed with people. read more

Oh has this plaza has changed over the years. At one point NO locals enjoyed visiting the plaza since it had very old buildings and crappy stores. Over the last 7 years it has added one of the nicest movie theaters in Riverside and arguably the best restaurants around. If you're looking for fast food it's there, casual dining, it's there and something a bit more classy....it's there. The Von's and Trader Joe's are always well stocked and both have great customer service. The plaza is still growing and every few months seem to add some new flavor to the shopping experience. read more

I can trump all you by saying: "I remember when the FIRST Riverside Plaza was open, with a bakery, magic shop, Woolworth's, Harris' Store and cool little shops including upper/lower parking lots. Oh those were the days when beauty shops made women look classy, boutiques had original cool clothing, the Silver Plum has neat stuff, and Bobs Big Boy served up great hamburgers. Then they enclosed it, no more open skies above. :( They did have a wonderful grand opening, gave away cake which people dropped and promptly walked all over the new carpet (seriously, whoever thought the cake was a good idea was stupid)., the ceiling windows leaked on rainy days, and Trader Joe's was on the back side of the Plaza..... But at least they still had Woolworths, a music store, and an interesting mix of stuff, including B. Dalton Bookstore (Though I was yelled at for daring to try and sit down to read a book). Fast forward... Now they are an open air place again. I just took a drive over there because I thought there was a Borders book store there, but lo! Borders bookstores are out of business almost two years! What did they have here? A big movie plex with parking a hike away, about 5-6 restaurants.... A couple clothing stores, and.... Suddenly I was at the street on the other side. Surely there MUST be more stores around behind it???????? I circled around and... ... ... Nothing. Else. Wow, what a major disappointment. It made the Tyler Mall look like a Utopia, and that's saying a lot! Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere, there is nothing here. Except a few places to eat. read more

This was such a desolate ghost town before they bulldozed half of the old Riverside Plaza mall and created an "open-air lifestyle center" (which are seemingly popping up in every other city) with a brand new "Main Street" town square concept. So Gottschalks remains, but is now flanked by a contrived "Main Street" with a theater complex, restaurants, bars, and other shops. It's a much more vibrant center than it used to be, and isn't the eyesore it once was. read more

Loved the 3pm till close happy hour. We got the table side guacamole and it was great. What made our experience here a 5 was our server Bertha Alicia. She was very attentive, thoughtful and courteous. She went out of her way to wait on us and make sure we had everything we wanted in a timely manner. I love this place. A couple of years ago there were not many places opened here and I would mainly come for the HUGE forever 21. Though the forever 21 moved into a smaller space, I still love this plaza. It is the perfect date night spot with lots of fancy, little eateries. They range from fast food joints to fancy Benihana styled food. There is a large regal theatre here with a nice patio seating out in front. Plus, parking is never a problem. The plaza feels like a little getaway from the rest of Riverside. read more
