Tuna Hoagie

The best tuna sub I've ever had... There's not much else to say. It's just so good. and I thought maybe it was a one-off thing where I just got lucky, but I got it again a year later and it's still SO GOOD. They actually use ripe tomatoes. That alone makes a huge difference. Service, polite older gentleman kindly greeted me to take my order and the lovely lady in the back was all smiles. They seem genuinely kind here, and had some friends? Regulars? Chatting them up excitedly. The interior is clean and simple. Give them a try!! Their pizza is good too

Nah. Placed an online order: Daily Cheesesteak Special, $15.08 total. The email indicating that my order was being prepared was time stamped 9:15. Restaurant closes at 10:00. Delivery estimate was 40-55 minutes. Restaurant is 0.2 miles from my house. Six minutes after 10 I called to check. No answer, just rang and rang. And guess what? Now, more than an hour after my order was confirmed, the restaurant now unresponsive and my appetite quite certainly lost from sheer frustration, still...no...food. In fairness, because I ordered via their website directly I was able to select the pay later option - the equivalent of cash on delivery so I'm not out any money but I had no way of knowing I was waiting for food that would never come. I surely could have ordered a cheesesteak from any number of other places in Manayunk. Can't attest to the flavor of the food. It never came. At 10:30 on a Saturday I'll have to make other arrangements.

First time ordering from Riverside. Decent pie for the area. Went with a buffalo chicken with blue cheese on the side. Good taste. Easy ordering and fast delivery. Solid 4 stars

A delicatessen with a pickle bar?! Count me in! A must visit destination for me when visiting one…read moreof my besties in Philly. I've been for breakfast, lunch and dinner through the years. Their challah French toast is something I often think fondly of! They've always been super friendly, and this location may be older but kept clean. I would not just return, but suggest others to stop by in they are visiting the area!

My partner had been to both Murray's Deli and Hymie's Deli in Ardmore. We wanted to have lunch…read moreafter an appointment, so I took a quick look on Yelp, and decided to go to Hymie's. It was packed - only a few tables were available at 12:30 on a Friday afternoon. We were immediately seated and looked over the menu. We decided to share a 1/2 Pastrami sandwich ( you can order 1/2 a sandwich ), 1/2 a Corned Beef sandwich, an order of Potato Latkes and we each had a small bowl of Chicken Matzo Ball soup. The soup was delicious - it was a little bowl with tiny shreds of carrots and chicken. The broth tasted very good, however, the matzo ball was a 'little' different. They were light and fluffy - but there was no texture or flavor at all....none. I would have thought the matzo balls would have absorbed some of the flavor from the soup, but it didn't. I finished the soup, but left the matzo ball. My partner likes pastrami over corned beef - she says it's a more 'peppery' flavor. While I probably prefer corned beef over pastrami because it's a leaner cut, my 'baseline' for pastrami is Katz's (NYC). I'm sure Katz's has great corned beef, but I've only had pastrami there - it's the best I've had. I thought my Corned Beef sandwich was excellent - it was lean, tender and very tasty. I squeeze out a little mound of mustard on my plate and dip. My partner thought her Pastrami sandwich was very good - it was also quite lean. I took a few bites of the pastrami, I thought my corned beef was tastier and had more texture. It almost seemed like they sliced the pastrami too thin. She liked her pastrami more than my corned beef - I suppose it's all a matter of individual taste. The Potato Latkes were delicious - especially with the applesauce! They were a little thicker than I might have preferred, possibly from either potato starch or matzo meal. However, there was a very nice potato taste and the thicker texture was fine. Of course, on the way out I saw a large selection of pasties and had to try a few! I got a few of the Rugelach and a Poppy Hamantash. The Rugelach were a disappointment - the interiors of all were very thick and doughy. I ate some of the exterior layers.....and left the rest. The Poppy Hamantash, on the other hand was one of the best I've had. It was by far the largest one I've ever had! As a result, there wasn't enough Mohn (poppy filling) for such a large pastry! The filling was very good as was the cookie (it was like 1/2 scone and 1/2 cookie)! Overall, Hymie's exceeded my expectations and I'll look forward to returning.

Love that they have a variety of pizzas by the slice in person - very generous portions and priced right too! I've ordered both cheesesteaks and hoagies for delivery and they've been great! Not sure the cheesesteak is the *best* I've ever had but still very yummy! DO NOT SLEEP ON THE HOAGIES! They are INSANE! The Old School Italian is freaking MASSIVE with good quality meats and man do I love their chunky pickles! That's gotta be my favorite thing I've gotten from there, and I've gotten it several times. Need to try more things off their menu lol. Their GrubHub ordering has been screwed up from the start, I actually messaged them about it and they attempted to fix it but it's still a mess. Ordering directly from their website is easy but they charge a $6(!) delivery fee which seems excessive. Def happy to have this spot in Manayunk!

My favorite beef steak sandwich in philly!!!…read more I eat gluten friendly and lactose free when I can and boy was I excited when I learned they had a gluten free bun for their hoagies! The upcharge is steep (~$4-5 Nov 2025), but the hoagie length is like the size of a forearm! What's better is that they also stuff the sandwiches to the brim, where the filling starts to spill out. The food is delicious. And most of the menu hits when you're craving greasy quick and filling food. Service is quick and timely. Ordering online is nice to build loyalty points and easy to customize orders. But the online fees - credit card & website charge, even when it's directly from their website, are high. The shop is on the corner of a street in Manayunk, so parking can be difficult or expensive. There is very limited seating. A few high tables along the window and high top chairs, nothing too comfortable. Carry out or takeout is recommended. I'll still come back, esp for their gluten friendly hoagie bun!! A hostess seated us upstairs the only occupied table at the time quiet and cool and relaxing. Cold water was dispensed immediately and after a lengthy study of the interesting menu, we settled on meals. They were fast and fresh. My Cajun Shrimp Salad had mixed greens, tomato, avocado, roasted corn, pickled jalapeno. The tasty orange chili vinaigrette was perfect. A really tasty combo. Five shrimp, not huge but two bites if you cut them. Plentiful toppings, it was just what I needed. Husband ordered a Couch Club, with the avocado on the side (more for me). He didn't order a separate side dish, so it was just a panini on a plate, unadorned. Tasty enough but probably should have had one of their many soups as well to round out the meal. Next time! I bookmarked this place intending to come back, but in a week in Manayunk we barely scratched the surface of all the culinary delights and didn't repeat. I love the way their menu clearly delineates gluten free items and those for which there is no gluten-free option. I especially would like to come back and try happy hour and gf soup on our next visit to Philadelphia. Since our son still lives in the area, maybe next year!

The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, with only two small tables for seating. Luckily, there was only one other customer when I arrived, so I was able to grab a seat. The interior has a subtle Star Wars theme, but nothing too extravagant in terms of decorations. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code and placing your order online. I decided to try the Vodka Pesto Rebel sandwich. It took about 15-20 minutes for my food to come out, which was a little longer than I expected considering there was only one other customer ahead of me. When the sandwich finally arrived, I was shocked by how HUGE it was! It genuinely felt like it weighed close to two pounds. The sandwich was absolutely packed with crispy chicken cutlet, which I loved. The inside of the sesame bun was coated with a garlic pesto spread, giving it an almost garlic bread-like flavor. The marinara sauce had a nice tanginess to it, and all the flavors complemented each other really well. The portion size was incredibly generous, and I ended up eating the sandwich over the course of two meals. For the amount of food you get, it's definitely worth the price! Despite the slightly longer wait, I was really impressed with the sandwich and would absolutely come back to try more of their menu.
