I wouldn't recommend went there for my daughter to take a blood test today and knowing that the phlebotomist was leaving at four I made an appointment for 330 and it was 4:05 .. still waiting in the room now seen by the doctor the phlebotomist left and they wanted me to come the next day.. I even showed up early around 320 and I even I even reminded the assistant at 10 to 4 that I was there for blood test and she assured me that the phlebotomist was gonna wait but didn't happen. We really love our doctors here, but the location is now not open on Saturdays...meaning we end up at 1111 Hudson or another location. It's good that they have more locations, but if staffing? or another issue is to blame for not opening on weekends, and you need more of those times, go to a different location. read more

Clean, lovely environment. Solid nurses, expedient paperwork service. There was an issue with insurance (Which has happened before in Miami and was frustrating to handle.) Handled here in 2 minutes. Previous doctor outside of Bloomfield area was comfortable issuing vaccines without medical records...I didn't let her touch my kids. They took forever to get records coordinated. Here, it took all of 2 minutes. Our new doctor was fantastic, well educated, and expertly versed in her craft. I am happy to entrust my children's health and welfare to this team. They also have onsite services for lab work. I hate going to what feels like a cattle farm when I go to quest or LabCorp for bloodwork. Especially, because it is easy for mistakes to happen in those facilities. Especially, sitting in a crowded lobby shoulder to shoulder with any number of patients with infectious diseases. No thanks... So I am happy that it can all be done here. They also have a 24/7 emergency office that can handle a variety of scenarios. I'm impressed by this pediatrician. With us finally deciding on Hoboken (my birthplace) as our new home. This office here (a few blocks from our new place) is perfect for anyone living in Hoboken and technically the pediatrician I'd recommend for anyone within train or driving distance. I don't trust my children with anyone lightly. As well no one should. Give it a look. read more

There are not a lot of options around our neighborhood so we've decided to put the welfare of our children with Riverside Clinton. Depending on how busy they get seems to dictate the amount of time they spend with each child. Based on thr visits we've made, our time with the physician on duty, have ranged from maximum of 10 minutes to a minimum of 2 minutes. This review is for the 2 minute visit..... The 2 minute visit, the physician on duty did not even look up from the write-up. She based her diagnosis entirely on what was written on paper. Had she looked up, maybe she would have noticed the swollen glands underneath my son's neck. It was not until we pointed out the symptom did we get the additional minute. Not all the physicians on staff are as quick to rush patients out. However, one poor misdiagnosis could potentially harm the health of the children. It's a shame to go toa clinic that is in such a rush to see as many patients as possible. This is not a way to run a practice where worried parents are looking for sound, thoughtful medical advice. As a concerned parent, I took the 10 minutes to write this post, which is 8 minutes longer than you saw my child. I did this as a public service...you received a sizable payment from my insurance company. read more

UPDATE: Christina, Riverside ENT's office manager is professional and very kind. I'm giving them back 2 stars just for her professionalism and courtesy. She reached out to me a few hours later to offer her apologies and assure me that the girl was dealt with (I assume will be getting more training etc) in an effort to prevent her from doing it to someone else. Former Riverside patient/mom of patient here! Dr Reitzen was a great ENT Dr when my son was under her care but her STAFF is so unprofessional and disrespectful which is not how I remember them. I called today to try and ask a question regarding a surgery my son had with Dr Reitzen a few years ago. You'd think staff working for an ENT would know what they were talking about, but this staff didn't. I was told to call them and ask by 2 other doctors to hopefully avoid having to see another specialist. My son has a rare chromosome disorder and Autism- If I can avoid seeing another specialist by asking a question regarding a surgery he had - that is what I'm going to do. I was put on hold for 5 minutes, then when a woman came back she gave me an answer to a question I didn't ask - then put back on hold and the girl that came to the phone next was full of attitude and disrespect. My son may not be Dr Reitzen's current patient anymore but there was no need to speak to me the way she did. With so much hostility, disrespect, and attitude. She spoke to me as if I was stupid and told me there was "no such thing" to the question I asked - which is absolutely untrue. I'm a healthcare professional - I wouldn't ask a question about something that was not an actual thing. Not to mention 2 doctors TOLD ME to call and ask. She also felt the need to say (multiple times and with lots of attitude) that I signed consent and was already told things back then. I'm aware but seeing as how I'm calling a few years later to ask a simple question regarding the procedure, and you have his chart pulled up in front of you, maybe I can be given an actual answer and not spoken to like a piece of garbage? I am a very respectful person but this girl was so disrespectful to me and refused to give me her name to file a complaint. After being hung up on, I tried calling back and the girls refused to answer the phone and when they did they would put me right on hold. They cover for each other. So, I have no idea what her name was to file a complaint but I had to leave this review because prior to moving away, we were long-time Riverside patients and I genuinely needed an answer to my question. Dr Reitzen was a great doctor but her staff is incredibly unprofessional and rude - to the point where I actually had to tell this girl that she didn't need to be a b**** to me. (Which is completely out of my character for me to say but she was literally THAT bad). Dr Reitzen should rethink her team. I've literally never been spoken to by a Dr's team the way she spoke to me. If you want to work in a doctors office- you need to have a certain level of customer service skills. If you don't like dealing with people- don't work at a job that requires you to interact with people. read more

Here is the information I would have appreciated knowing before coming to this practice. First, the doctors are good and understanding. Dr. Ben and Dr. Parikh are competent and empathetic, and I wish they were with a different practice . But we've recently decided to switch (alternatives below) because the practice is so disorganized and non communicative that the health care providers here cannot do their best. Here are the Things that are very frustrating, especially if your child is young and you have frequent well visits: - no online scheduling/records or test results access to a portal. Yes there is technically MyChart but no one knows how to use it or sign your child up for it. I was given the runaround and told to call/email different contacts to set up MyChart. No one ever got back to me. That means you have to receive all your test results by phone or pick up in person. - insane wait times. Budget 30 min to 1 hour +. I tried to grab the first appointment of the day to fix this - still 30 minutes! My max wait time was 2 hours... - Hoboken office only - only one parent in the room at a time bc the rooms are very small so they can't manage covid risk in such a tight space. Some are literally closet size. If you are handling a young baby, it can be very hard. Also, some exam rooms are on the second floor and there's no accessibility so you cannot bring the stroller. If you are coming alone with a young baby, it doesn't work. - No coordination - if your doctor is out on vacation or if you come in for a sick visit, the new doctor will not have been briefed with history. I've gotten contradictory opinions bc of this. I ended up "breaking the tie" by asking a third person. - outdated billing - invoices come in mail only and the portal to pay is very clunky. It feels outdated and strange. I want to thank the doctors and other medical professionals who are trying their best. I suspect they are frustrated and feel unsupported by the practice as well - I've overheard some expressing frustration at the constant technology issues and low supplies in the exam rooms. It truly is an issue of poor operations getting in the way of medical care. For everyone who has read this far and is looking for alternatives, my friends recommended Tribeca Pediatrics and Tenafly Pediatrics. Tribeca in particular has come very very high recommended from multiple people. I switched and wish I had done so much sooner. Riverside seems easy because they have many locations and longer hours but this efficiency is an illusion. I have wasted many more hours in the waiting room, let alone reconciling opinions and schlepping a stroller around. If you are a busy parent that wants to save time and needs straightforward care, I would try a different place. read more

This is the practice that stopped me from breastfeeding my first kid (before I knew better), because "you were raised on formula and you were fine". The same practice that did not address my daughter's lactose intolerance and acid reflux for 4 months because "babies cry", until I refused to leave and they finally did something about it. The same practice that told me that my daughter did not have a UTI, despite testing her, until the infection got into her blood and went septic and she nearly died. And the same place that got me to give my daughter antibiotics, it turns out for no reason, because despite my repeated calls, they didn't bother calling the lab to find out she didn't have strep. Why did I keep going back? Because I thought it was the doctor we were dealing with at the time. We changed to Dr. Tiku and then Dr. Ben who were wonderful. They are not at this location anymore. I now understand that the reception and admin staff are just as bad and the lab isn't much better either (or at least that's who they blame when there are issues). Enough is enough. I am not going back and neither should you if you care about your children. Or if you go, please, at least use your common sense if you are at all uneasy about what you are told and potentially get a second opinion. read more

Based on the recommendations of some friends, we took our son to Riverside Pediatrics to see Dr. Tiku. Reception Staff (1 star): They really have no idea what they are doing. I don't even think they schedule based on doctors. For example, we have been scheduled to see Dr. Tiku at 11:30am even though she doesn't come in until 12:00pm. They always ask which doctor you're there to see at each appointment as well (since they have no idea). In our most recent visit to see Dr. Ben, she had a huge queue of patients while another doctor was just wandering around aimlessly. This meant a wait of over an hour past our 10am appointment time in order to see her. We didn't get out of the office until 11:45am!! I have never experienced a more poorly run reception/scheduling desk. You can make any appointment you want, but it ends up being a scheduled walk-in. If at 10am, you're already facing over an hour wait, an afternoon appointment must be killer. We will now schedule (our walk-in) for 8am. Aide Staff (2 stars): They are relatively competent depending on who you get. For example, some aides insist on removal of your baby's diaper, and other aides don't care. We just take it off each time now so the weigh-ins are consistent. So far everyone we've met hurries through the measurements and are rude if you ask questions during their measurements. I could understand if there was a queue for aides, but they are usually milling around. Doctors (5 stars): Dr. TIku and Dr. Ben are great. Even though they have such a large queue, they really take their time with your kid. They are thorough with the questions they ask and the questions they answer. I cannot say enough good things about them, they are the only reason we deal with such a poorly run office. Nurses (3 stars): So far they have been competent. They do their job quickly, properly, and then move on. There is another doctor at this clinic that almost no one sees. This "scheduled walk-in" approach might work if everyone saw the doctors evenly, but that is not the case. Everyone goes to see Dr. Ben and Dr. Tiku. My biggest problem with the place is the extremely long wait. It doesnt matter what time or day of the week I go, the place is always packed. We never have any preference for any doctor. For the most part I take my child only for well visits. But even then my wait is never under an hour in the waiting room, and once we are in the office, there is usually yet another 10 min wait for the doctor. The waiting room is tiny, and packed with sick kids coughing, sneezing, crying, screaming. 15 minute wait is something that I can accept. But I simply cannot let my baby be exposed to other sick kids for over an hour in an overcrowded room. I find the front desk staff lethargic, incompetent and absent minded. Its true that the assistants dont care whether you need to take off the child clothes/diapers for weighing - and this could mean a difference of 8 ounces as I once discovered. The doctors who we have seen are competent, but then our child has been a normal healthy baby so far. They are hard to reach by phone because they have patients backed up to the brim. If you leave a message they would have time to return your call only towards the end of their day. So we are looking for another practice to take my child to. I am sure the doctors are good, but the place is just so poorly run. read more

Be sure to check insurance coverage - despite the fact that they are listed as IN NETWORK with my insurance company and both my husband and my (soon to be born) child would have liked to have been seen at this practice, when I called to get more information, they informed me that my insurance is not actually accepted by their practice. The woman on the phone was quite rude and dismissive and was not an insurance specialist - only quoting from their website - and on the whole an entirely unpleasant experience. We had a terrible experience on two occasions and are not going back. They double-triple book appointments and let walk-in's in between the appointments, while making those with the appointments wait. How do they expect little children hang in there for hours in a tiny lobby with zero entertainment, toys, space to run and wander? People with appointments are forced to stand (with little children) while the lobby is filled and the seats are taken by the "walk in"s. The receptionist is rude and unapologetic. We walked out after 1.5 hour wait (from the time of our scheduled appointment) after being told that there are still six people ahead of us. The only reason to come here is for convenience and because, for the most part, you will get adequate medical advice, especially when your child is ill. The staff constantly surprises me with an ability to be worse each time I go than the last. In fact, I just called the office for a refill on an inhaler and after being transferred to three people, then asking again for the refill on an INHALER, I was asked "What is this medication for?" I've also never waited less than 30 minutes for an appointment, and I usually book the first one of the morning. I've also received poor medical advice, so use common sense- if something they tell you doesn't sit well, get a second opinion. My most recent example is the doctor suggesting that we limit the amount of fruit our daughter eats because at the 90th percentile for height and the 75th for weight, the doctor feels we should limit our 6-year old's caloric intake. I spoke with another pediatrician who said this was ridiculous advice for a child with that balance on the height and weight scales. read more

The staff has always been attentive, an yes, there is a wait but I don't think it is abnormal for a doctor's office. Biggest plus to me it's that they open during the weekends, so no need to wait until Monday.
