I was experiencing issues with my 24 year old AC unit and kept getting denied by Select Home Warranty. Home warranties are such a scam. They would do anything so they wont have to pay for any major repairs or replace them. Both of my neighbors use Riverside Heating and Air Conditioning so I decided to call them. Matt came out to my home and identified the problem. I needed a new coil but they no longer had the part for my AC unit. I purchased a new HVAC system and had it installed 72 hours later by Joe, John and Gavin. They were all professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough with their work. I will be signing up for their maintenance service plan in six months. Canceled my home warranty and decided not to pay anymore premiums and just put it in my savings account for future home repairs and replacement costs. read more

I called them in the afternoon. I had to wait a day and a half for a man to come. He came to diagnose the problem. He said it was electrical and he couldn't diagnose any further than that. He showed up for the appointment time 2 1/2 hours late when he left I had was no further along at getting my air fixed and it cost $100. read more

Texted me for appointment times and arrival information as I had to leave work to get home. Very thorough yearly check up and detailed description of the "noise" I was hearing. I've known David and his crew for many years. My ac went out on my old unit one morning. I have had other companies come out to check the unit over the years. Most try to just sell you a new unit. Very pricey. Gave my buddy David a calll told him I wanted to replace everything. David and his crew had me up and running with a brand new complete heating and air system within 24hrs. I had a similar experience as Gina. They overcharged me, I paid. AC went out again hours after they left. I'm not certain that the part they installed is new. I wish I would have read this review before calling them but we called and they came that same day. I should have known there was a reason for that. read more

My office have 2 have units that are 7 years old. Last Thursday, one of them wouldn't pump the cold air. Called a person I Found through thumbtack and after he checked on it, I was told that I have unit that is not fixable and was charged $125 and was going to give me a quote on new unit. I called Riverside heating and air to get a second opinion and had a guy come out to check and was told that I just had a bad condenser with burned wire and that should take care of it. And since he was out, I had him check the other unit and was told that 2 wires were loose and had to put in 9 lb. of freon which cost $100/lb. I ended up paying about $1350 and everything seem to work ok when he left about 5 pm. We closed down the office shortly after he left with ac completely off. On Monday pm when it started to get warm in the office, turned on the AC to find out there were no cold air blowing. I called the company and they sent out another person on Tuesday afternoon. After checking the unit that had the problem from the first place, he said that the compressor is bad and it will cost me $2800. I told him dont think spending that money which may or may not fix the problem is not what I want so he was going to give me a quote on the new unit. Which I received by the owner who came out to look at everything and said it will cost me $10000. I told him I will have someone else take a look at it who's name was give by one of our most trusted patient. By yesterday ( Wednesday) Jerry came out to tell me that one of the wire was hooked up wrong and condenser was installed upside down and it kept tripping the circuit. Also the new condenser they supposly out in was not new at all so my guy Jerry had to go out and buy a new one to put in. He also checked the other unit and said that both wires were still loose and one of them didn't have a cap on it which he had to put on. I called riverside heating and told them this and asked them for the money back for the work that was not done, I asked for the portion of $350 which they said that the new condenser and burned wire replacement cost was. Never mind the outrageous charge for the freon, my guy said that he charges $50 / lb at the most depending on how much he has to pay for them ( it fluctuate like gas price, I was told by Jerry). Also said that a new compressor will be around $1200-$1500. I just want them to do it right by me especially making more than enough money on freon which they may or may not have put in for all I know at this point. After telling me that they will check on it with the owner, I had a message saying that the unit was working when they left so no refund will be made. I thought about filling a complaint or contacting an attorney or calling them up. But I decided hat they do this all the time to deceive many people and some how getting by with what they do for quit a few year and I decided to do what I can which is writing a review on them on all websites possible instead to warn people on what this company is like. I was promised by the owner, Andy Anderson when he was giving me the quote on new unit, that since what they did didn't fix the problem he will refund that amount. I guess since he is not going to be gouging more money by telling me that he will have to charge closed to $4000 just to take out the old one through the ceiling. He doesn't want to honor his word. I trusted them to do a honest work for me but in this case, I am upset with myself for letting them take an advantage of person like me who need service that I have no knowledge on. Problem with people like them is that I will probably have tough time trusting other companies like them. After all being said, I am happy that my AC is running great and didn't need a new compressor or a brand new unit. I wish I could post Jerry's number so anyone with any Hvac problems could bypass Gauging company like Riverside heating and air. Which I am sure there are many after this ugly experience. read more
