He is not honest. This is my second trip to this place. My Nissan 2000 Altima had a check engine light as one of the cylinders is misfiring . He looked at it and he told cleaning the plugs will fix the problem, most probably. He charged me 90 for half hour labour and it (the check engine light came back the next day). How terrible. These people just tried to charge me $900 for a front drive shaft plus another $500 to install. I found one myself for $430 and got it install for $87. I just made the mistake of trying to do a simple inspection sticker (which passed in previous years.) They told me my lights didn't pass and would cost $90 cause they have to pull the grill out plus a kit just to lower my headlights,They tried to tell me all this work they'd have to do to tilt the lights (which passed last year) that I know to be outright lies and all it's needed is a screwdriver. I just toke my truck to have a new inspection done and it passed. I will be reporting these guys to Massachusetts and the Better Business Bureau as well as the Woburn Chamber of Commerce. They are a hazard to the industry and need to be shut down before someone gets hurt due their negligence. read more

Went for inspection - place quiet - the main guy gets my wife's car and does the inspection and comes out and says 40 bux , 35 for the inspection and 5 for a license plate bulb. Never showed me the dead bulb or asking me to do the service- guess I look like a dink. I paid the extra 5, no question but knowing I just paid for nothing . I would give this business 0 stars if I could. On Thursday 3/3/11 I took my car to First Class Auto Service to have the front and rear struts replaced on my Sentra. I had called for an estimate but they told me I needed to bring it in so they could inspect the car first. I brought it in and they changed the front and rear struts. After 5 hours or so of waiting I saw one of the mechanics (Sal) take the car out for a final drive, he brought it back into the garage bay, after some time a second mechanic (Steve) took it out for a drive and then also brought it back inside the garage, after some more time a third mechanic (Joe the owner I believe) took it out and also brought it back into the garage. When Sal came to the lobby I asked him what the matter was and he said, "I'll let Joe explain." Joe explained that there was a clicking sound that they couldn't figure out and that they would lube the connections and if it didn't go away I could bring it back and he would "dig deeper" into the problem. He explained that often times the noise went away. When I drove it home I could hear something was wrong (it was a lot louder than a clicking) and I called and asked to bring it in Saturday. Joe said that wouldn't work; the grease needs time to work in, to call back on Monday or Tuesday. I called back on Tuesday and told them the sound had gotten worse; that I could now hear the spring shift when I turned. The receptionist scheduled an appointment the following Saturday (3/12). When I brought it in at about 8am Sal said they couldn't see me until noon. So I had to drive all the way back to my apt in Allston and all the way back to Woburn at noon. When I brought it in again Steve looked at it and determined that it was a strut mount. Sal explained that the reason my car was not right was because they did not use the kind of strut that came assembled with the strut mount and all the required hardware; instead they reused the hardware from the struts they removed. He said he would get an estimate for the strut mount and call me back at 2pm because he was swamped. He never did call back. On Monday (3/14) I called First Class Auto Service and spoke with Joe -- I explained how the front driver's side strut mount needed to be replaced, and he said he would get Sal to get an estimate for the part and call me back because Sal had gone out to bring lunch for them. Joe never did call me back. I drove to First Class Auto after work that day and Sal told me the repair would cost $220 -- $39 for the mount and the rest for labor. I told him that I was willing to pay for the part but that they should have changed the strut mounts in the first place -- that they should not charge me the labor costs. He said that they would not cover the labor costs because they did not diagnose the problem. I filed this complaint with the BBB and First Class flat out lied to them saying that they told me I had the option of choosing different strut installations. They lied repeatedly about the whole situation. The bottom line is I believe this business is dishonest and I would not let any friend of mine take their car to them. read more

After checking them out, they quoted me $750 for a brake job, which they did on time with no issues. the only problem is 4 months later my rotors are warped and brake pads gone- not sure what kind of hack parts they used but needless to say I'm out $750 and about to drop another $500 on the repairs read more

By far the best people and repair shop around!!! Brought my car in because I thought it needed a brake job. Joe, the owner put it up on the lift took the wheels off. He found something slightly out of adjustment. He did the minor adjustment took the car off the lift and didn't even charge me. All he asked was that when it needed the brakes to bring it back to him. I have been back a few times since then and they have always done a great job fixing my car. I took my car in to get scratches buffed out and touch up some rust on the back fender. I had my trepidations after reading some negative reviews on here, however I had met Joe the owner and he seemed fair and kind. He was upfront with me about what needed to be done and offered a fair price. I dropped my car off Saturday morning before work, and Sam the manager offered to drive me to my office in town. He was very nice and assured me that he would work on my car and it would look great. He did not disappoint, in fact I was extremely impressed with the work he did! My car looked brand new. In addition, he washed and vacuumed my vehicle. I couldn't believe how great it looked. The picture I am attaching doesn't do it justice. I wish I had a before picture. I was so pleased with the result and price that I would definitely bring the car back to get work done. I would've given this business 5 stars, except when I tried to get a quote for a second vehicle, I waited a couple of weeks to get one, after dropping by the shop and calling several times to follow-up. In the end, I spoke to someone directly who gave me a quote immediately and we scheduled for auto body work for my second vehicle. The price was fair. These guys suck. Plain and Simple. Took my car there for an inspection two different times, the first time they failed it for a rear tail light, no big deal, fixed it. Second time I had a brand new car, fully inspected by a trusted mechanic before I bought it, they failed it for inspection again, I took it right down the street to the next place I saw that did inspections, they said that riverside was full of it and the problem Riverside had said was non existent, On the way home from work I went to a different inspection place and they said the same thing, these guys are looking for a quick buck. My mom had her breaks done here today and she is recovering from hip surgery. They squeezed her in at the last minute but also helped her to and from the office. STOP! ( especially people with german cars) Do not bring your car hear save yourself the time, money, and aggravation. I took my car here for a simple belt then a short while later ( 25-30 mins) my car broke down for a different reason so I had it towed back to them to look at it. 3 separate times they said they fixed the issue and 3 times I had to bring it back to them to try to fix the promblem again (each time paying more for things they said we're causing the issue) after the 3rd time it was clear they had no idea what they were doing and we're just taking guesses as to what was wrong. So I called them and told them not to work on the car and that I was having it towed to another mechanic that specializes in German vehicles. When the car got to the new shop it was leaking coolant, come to find out they had caused damage to my vehicle and didn't even call to inform me of the obvious damage. Also there were items missing from my car. Not wanting to point the finger right away i searched everywhere for my things. I called riverside and informed them of the situation, the woman told me that the owner would call me back and I never heard back... I wish I had another set of hands so I could give this place 4 thumbs down. The new mechanic was awesome. He fixed my car with no issues and in a professional manner. read more

Would give them 0 starts but can't. Had my timing belt go on my car. Told me they would call me the next day to let me know what it was. They never called I called them and they told me it was my belt. Then told me that they had to look to see if I needed a new engine or if they could just fix what was wrong. Ended up calling them again 3 days later to find out I needed a new engine. I had a choice of an engine with 140,000 miles on it or one with 80,000 miles on it. The 140k one was 5k lower than my previous engine and if I got it I would have only have saved myself $500 so I went with the one with less miles. I paid them $3100 for the engine, work and tow. Got a 60day warranty on it but they said it will last me a few years. It hasn't even been 6 months and my engine is gone. I will never bring my car there again. Now I'm looking for a new car with no money to put down on it. Do not bring it to them they take forever and obviously get shit parts and make you pay horrible amounts of money. read more

These are the most honest people in the business. I was referred to them by a local Monro facility for my daughter's '96 Maxima - it wasn't cooling, they could not find a leak so just recharged it, and it ran fine for a year. I have had multiple jobs on my 2005 Acura TSX and my son's 2005 RSX. Always honest, and when - for example - a rebuilt air conditioning compressor failed a few months short of the warranty, they replaced it for free, no hassle. When my engine suddenly ran rough when in Rockland, MA, I had AAA tow me to s local Sullivan Tire, which estimated repairs at $2800. Joe towed me back from Rockland to Woburn for $200, replaced an ignition coil on one of the cylinders for under $150 - and the car ran perfectly afterwards. My son's RSX was highly modified by a former owner, and developed suspension problems. He took it to Acura of Boston, which wanted nearly $4000 to fix it. Joe at First Class got the parts from Acura and rebuilt the suspension system for $2000. I have 174,000 miles on my car, Joe will keep it running for another 75,000 or more. read more

Even though they were closing up, they stayed open to put on the spare and the owner said he just couldn't think of his sister or his mother stuck in the snow.
