I had the walk-in special which consists of a cheeseburger, an order of fries, and a can of soda for $14. Compared to the trendy smashburger spots in the area, this is an absolute steal. Ordered takeout and it was a pretty solid meal. The menu is stacked with a lot of great options and are very creative. I ordered a regular cheeseburger and as mundane of an option as it is, all of the ingredients in the burger tasted fresh. I don't know what kind of bun they use but it held all of the ingredients really well so there wasn't a hot mess afterwards. I was craving a good burger when in downtown and came across Riverside Burgers after a quick search on my phone. At the time of this writing, seating is available on the street patio. In my first visit, I ordered the Riverside (6oz beef patty, Panko-crusted onion ring, BBQ sauce, mozzarella, garlic aioli, bacon). I was impressed with it; it tasted great and the onion ring added a nice texture to it; the amount of BBQ sauce was just right and didn't overwhelm the other flavors. The brioche bun was a nice touch as well. In my second visit, I decided to go big and ordered The Big Boy Burger (12 oz beef patty, double cheddar cheese, red onion, pickles, fried egg, garlic aioli, jalapeno). It was an epic burger for a big appetite; the jalapeno added a nice zing to the burger, but it would had been nice if it had something to add more texture to this burger, such as the onion ring in the Riverside. Riverside Burgers reminds me of The Burger's Priest when they started their first tiny store on Queen and Coxwell, before they went corporate and lost their edge. You can feel the love put into creating their product and the pride serving a delicious artisanal burger. Service was good and friendly. Street parking available. This looks like a hole-in-the-wall in the east side of the city. However, prices are not that way. A little pricey for the quality of food. I got the jerk chicken burger and husband got lamby. My jerk chicken was better than his lamb burger. He was not happy at all with his lamb burger. It wasn't seasoned properly and there was not much taste. Came here the other day to grab a late bite. Got the Hot Hawaiian and it was good! Bun was fresh. Not too soft but also not too hard where it hurts your gums when you bite. The fries and onion rings were amazing. The only thing was the seats /tables were a bit small, though i don't blame them since the space is fairly small compared to other joints. I've been looking at this place for years, always curious if it was any good, it looked nice, clean, visually appealing storefront. This past Saturday, finally my beautiful girlfriend wanted burgers for dinner!! We wanted to give a local place some business and settled on giving Riverside Burgers try. My partner said she tried this place many years ago, but it looked like it was under new management, her previous experience was very good so we gave it a try. My partner had the Riverside burger and i had the banquet. we also ordered fries and homemade onions rings to share as a side. The burgers were absolutely EXCELLENT. The toppings were also perfect, just the right amount, and fresh. I loved the shredded lettuce. Their bacon was also thick and crispy. Their burgers were served on really nice and fresh brioche buns that were grilled. Thes burgers were assembled beautifully as well. Their patties were deliciously spiced and had the right amount of fat to make them juicy without being too greasy, they obviously use a very well balanced and high quality ground. Their fries were also excellent, i personally prefer well done, crispy fries, but these were great either way, clearly fresh cut instore, shoestring style. which i love, they would have been even better well done. We also loved the onion rings, they were DELICIOUS! but if i was going to complain about anything, $7 for literally 5 onion rings is a sad joke. they were great, but 5 rings? c'mon guys, these are the cheapest items to make on your menu, be a little bit more generous please, you'd likely sell more, i assume most people order them once because they only get 5 rings for $7. I think they have the best burger in Toronto. I have been there four times now and I'm hooked. The burger is homemade, great texture, and just the right thickness. I get the regular burger special (with fries) each time. The fries are also tasty and homemade. As a bonus, the married couple that own the place are super nice and you can tell that customer service is very important to them.
