We have been long term here for 3 months now and I absolutely LOVE it. The park managers sincerely care so much about the tenants here and their experience and safety. Immaculately well kept park with the most beautiful views! The tenants we've met are all respectful and friendly. My kids love being able to ride their bikes, play in the field, explore around the trees, and take a short walk down to the river to swim or throw rocks. Jeremy and Dominica are fantastic managers and do a wonderful job to make your stay peaceful and enjoyable! So blessed and thankful to be able to call this our temporary home.

Gorgeous!

September 9-12, 2025 - Fortuna, CA…read more This RV park has a lot going for it: level sites, a small pool and spa, a rec room, store, laundry, and friendly staff. We also appreciated the many trees, the picnic table at each site, and a little patch of grass along with the full hookups. Also within walking distance is Eel River Brewery, Bella Italia Italian Restaurant, and the Eel River Walk Trail. The only drawback for us was the traffic noise. Highway 101 runs directly behind the park, and the road out front gets more than its share of trucks and the occasional wannabe dragster. It didn't ruin our stay, but it did impact our sleep. I don't think I would stay here again simply because of the traffic noise. Not the RV park's fault, just simply a matter of location.

The staff are friendly and the grounds are well kept. They have full hookups and a picnic table on nice green grass. It is within easy walking distance of Eel River Brewery (among my all time favorites) and a nice Italian Restaurant (Bella Italia). Those are the positives. The one big negative for me was the traffic noise. The park is right next to a Highway 101 off ramp and there is another road going by the front of the park that is fairly busy and noisy with lots of big rigs. If you do decide to stay here, I suggest you have a noise canceling device or ear plugs. It was hard to get a sound night's sleep.

Two nights in a tent site this month…read more Pros: Fantastic service and communication by the camp host, both before and during our two night stay. Bathrooms were very clean, well lit, and fully functional. Firewood and other necessities were delivered right to our site upon arrival - so awesome! The patch of old growth we camped in was long-ago cut large trees which had sprouted a dozen or so normal trees out of them. The woods were DARK due to dense canopies and staved off the rain when it fell, which we loved. Most importantly, this CG doesn't fill up six months ahead of arrival date so you can actually book them like a normal campground used to be (I'm glaring at YOU, California State Parks). Cons: Loud road noise due to proximity to 101 and surface roads. In fact, several of the sites abut the neighboring private property, allowing you to see through an old privacy fence directly into their back yard. Luckily our host let us swap spots when we realized this. Several tent campsites lacked picnic tables, which made me concerned if they'd have been full (they definitely weren't this May weekend). The fire rings were sufficient but also just old wheels. Showers in bathroom were in dire need of new fixtures (hard water made them look quite...eek...just glad I wasn't wearing my glasses while I showered). We recognized this area is a difficult one to have high expectations in due to remoteness and gave an extra star for the supremely kind and helpful woman who hosted us. We may not be back up here again, but if we are I hope to run into her.

The many old growth redwood groves are interesting and beautiful to saunter through. Way finding is easy and park maps and internet resources make for a wonderful road trip. Visitor centers are well stocked, have clean bathrooms with ample parking. Volunteer staff are well informed and helpful. Trails are well marked and very clean. Surprising lack of random trash so volunteers and visitors do a great job. We have learned over the past few years to avoid the crowds and cost of visiting National Parks in California when we are truly blessed with such exceptional California park options. This park is amazing and fascinating with manageable visitor sizes. Take the time to experience the area small towns too!

My destination was the Tall Tree, and I passed miles of banana slugs, moss, lichen, spring wildflowers, and the refreshing surge of Bull Creek with its turquoise hues. The park was far from crowded, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Park Staff tending the maintenance needs (weed abatement). I felt safe & incredibly relaxed on the trail. There are over 100 miles of trail in this park and plenty of river access, providing something for everyone. If you only drive through the Avenue of the Giants, it will be time well spent in this gorgeous paradise.
