We were greeted with a long snarl of a face in the main office and while still on the river with multiple family, waiting for us to get off the river, they were yelled at and mistreated by Erin. And when I got off, I went to retrieve my keys to leave, and I was treated as if I was a moron when I tried to explain that I just had given her a fob, not a full set of keys. She treated me like I was a two year-old idiot and was very sassy with me and again with her long snarl of a face. From start to finish, working with these guys was awesome. We actually went on maybe the 2nd to last day of the season, so our tour guides were extra jovial and enthusiastic in ending the season on a high note. Our boat had Bailey while the other guys had Kenny - both hilariously animated guys. We originally thought we'd be able to wake up for the early morning river run, but glad we booked the 2nd one due to having a late and debaucherous night before. The early afternoon was pretty windy so we were worried about freezing waters, but actually the sun came out and warmed us up pretty nice. All the equipment was very modern and new, and the rafts themselves were in great shape. Basically you draft down the river twice, with the second time full of more instances where you're begging to be tossed into the water. The last peaceful stretch was actually a great time for everyone to jump out of the rafts and peacefully wade in the water. There was an included photographer who got some awesome shots, although most of the time I had no idea where or when they were shooting and came up with great candids. The food afterwards was pretty great. You get a choice of protein - I highly recommend the salmon. They also have a bar type setup you can partake in. Overall, I highly recommend this adventure company. It provides a very homey feel and care to give you an awesome experience that is authentic to their roots and passion.

After some online searching, we decided to check out Highland Lake due to the proximity to Portland, boat launch for easy access to the water, and available parking. And what a wonderful decision this was!! When we arrived, there was plenty of parking still available and just a short walk of muscling the canoe to the water. Once we got out onto the lake we saw a variety of water activities: kayaking, fishing, boating, tubing, waterskiing, & jet skiing. Although there were quite a bit of people and activity on the lake, it is definitely large enough to peacefully canoe and still feel immersed in the nature surrounding you.

The lakes were productive and my son and I caught a substantial Lake Trout locally known and named by the indigenous people hundreds of years ago as a Togue. The stream leading out of the lake at the close by dam was very productive for catch and release Native Brook Trout & also landlocked Salmon & we even caught several Rainbow Trout. We released all of these wild fish. Our server in the lodge where we had dinners was named Sydney & she was charming and we really looked forward to our meals. The chef smoked the Togue for all the guests to sample before our dinners as an appetizer . We had a great experience while staying there on our fishing adventure.

The first day was the full river trip and the second day was the ultimate on the Kennebec River. Both days were excellent!! It was my and my 16 year old year's first time white water rafting. We absolutely loved it!! We had a big group, 15 people the first day, 19 the second with a large range of ages 6-65 years and mixed of experienced and non experienced. We had the same guides both days-Jackie and Steve. Not only were they great guides but they are beautiful people! Everyone in our group had a wonderful time and we spent all night reminiscing.
