Furthermore, I have resided in 6 different states and can honestly say that Colorado is my favorite state and Concordia on the Lake is my favorite residence. The majority of my neighbors feel the same way as I and we all realize that there are some (residents and some family members) who have different opinions. I couldn't be happier and can't imagine living anywhere else. Just about everything I need or want is within walking distance. If you want a sense of community and security, Concordia is the place for you or your family members.

My grandpa lived at MorningStar Littleton for a little under a year and I never once felt like my…read morefamily or my grandfather was loved or cared about. Overall, most of the staff made us feel like we were a burden or didn't even acknowledge us. We had several issues with nurses and caretakers. Whenever we asked for something, it was never addressed in a timely manner. There were so many times that we would go to visit grandpa and find him laying in soiled clothes and linens. There were so many times that we would come to visit in the early afternoon and his blinds were still closed, with his breakfast still wrapped in Saran Wrap on his tray. There was no way that my grandpa's hands were able to take off the wrap even if he wanted to eat his food. Frequently, there was feces on his commode, on his pull up bar by his bed, and on his tray. It was dry and had clearly been there for a very long time with no one bothering to clean it up. It saddens me to think that his fears of a "nursing home" were realized during his stay at your facility. My parents and I have many pictures of the disgraceful and unsanitary conditions my grandpa was living in. My dad would come every day, often twice a day, to check on him and make sure he had everything he needed - food, water, clean clothes, clean bedding, etc. because we believe that my grandpa needed extra support that wasn't being offered to him from the staff at MorningStar Littleton. I am not sure why MorningStar Littleton failed so miserably in living up to the promises of dignity, care, and respect that they promised my grandpa, and my family. Perhaps it was because of the lack of staff during the trying Covid days? Maybe the staff lacked sufficient training? Perhaps the former leadership was at fault? I'm not sure what the reason was, but I believe that my grandpa deserved a better last year of his life, and I would not recommend MorningStar Littleton to other families who are forced to place their loved one in a facility like MorningStar. Simply put, I wouldn't want someone else's loved one to be treated the way my grandpa and our family was. Regularly, the staff would be in their offices, either talking amongst themselves or "on their computer", rarely engaging with residents or their families. If we needed anything, I felt like we had to go looking for help. My dad tried to show pictures of the inhuman and dirty conditions my grandpa was living in to one of the lead staff members and his response to my dad was, "I don't want to see any more of your pictures." This staff member was always very rude to our family and I believe my grandfather paid too much money for us all to be treated so terribly by him. He came in to see my grandpa on his last day of life and I wished he wouldn't have. This employee never showed care for my grandpa and I felt it was very disingenuous for him to "care" now. I have felt these feelings for the past year and I BEGGED my parents to move my grandfather to another facility that was smaller, where he would be cared for and receive more attention, but they were afraid it would be too hard on my grandpa to move him. They were afraid to say anything to the staff because when they did, they were either ignored, shut down, or we were afraid that my grandpa would be "punished" and receive less care. I have a close friend who places elderly loved ones in assisted living facilities and every time we discussed the care my grandfather was receiving, she would reply with "That's awful. They should be doing more for him and your family." I feel like our expectations were never met, let alone exceeded. The only thing I felt like MorningStar Littleton did right was the way they escorted his body, after passing, in the casket out of the building with the staff lined up to honor him. But even that left a sour taste in my mouth. MorningStar never communicated to my family that they would treat my grandpa to this meaningful gesture so we weren't able to be there as a family to partake. We had no idea, and my sisters and I were not there to see his body in the casket, escorted out of the building with the respect I believe your staff never gave him when he was alive. I was so sad when my mom told me that my grandfather was honored in this way and I wasn't able to witness it. Don't get me wrong, not everything was terrible. A few of the care takers were kind, considerate, and caring, but would disappeared after a bit. I'm not sure if they left or were reassigned elsewhere? I always say that I want to live my life without regrets, but honestly, I do regret that I didn't fight harder to find my grandpa a better place to live with people who actually cared for him, in a place where it wasn't just their "job".

Zero stars: This review is specific to the rehabilitation center - Windcrest at Regent's Point…read more My father (late 60s) was admitted here following double knee replacement surgery, with a known diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis. He stayed for three nights before ultimately needing to be transferred back to the hospital. Unfortunately, the level of care we experienced was deeply concerning. The biggest issue was a lack of urgency and attention to basic medical needs. Despite his pulmonary condition, my father was not provided oxygen upon arrival. We were told it was listed as "as needed," but for someone who requires oxygen regularly, this should have been proactively managed. Relying on a patient in respiratory distress to repeatedly request care is not appropriate. Response times were also a serious problem. My father frequently used the call button for assistance, and it often took 30 minutes or more for anyone to respond. On one visit, he told me he had already been waiting half an hour just to receive ice packs for his knees. I had to find a staff member myself to get help. When I asked about average response times, I was told 10-15 minutes, which did not reflect our experience. I also requested that they check whether his call button was functioning properly, but no one ever followed up. There were multiple instances where essential care depended on a family member being physically present to advocate. For example, when my father needed his inhaler during a breathing episode, staff did not respond to the call button. I again had to go into the hallway to find someone. This pattern made it clear that without constant advocacy, care could be delayed or missed. Beyond my father's care, we observed troubling situations involving other residents. My sister had to assist my father's roommate back to his bed after a staff member left him unattended and he couldn't get his wheelchair across the room. I also saw several elderly residents sitting unattended in wheelchairs in a hallway, with no staff engaging or monitoring them. While the facility did not appear understaffed based on what we observed (plenty of time for them to stand around looking at their phones or chatting with each other), there was a noticeable lack of attentiveness and urgency among staff. Overall, this was not the level of care we expected for a rehabilitation facility. We are actively working to move my father elsewhere. I would strongly encourage families to be very involved and vigilant if a loved one is placed here.

They helped with every aspect: moving in, special diet, education abut memory loss, support groups, and referred us to hospice care when that became a necessity. Numerous times I witnessed them laughing and crying with my mom. It was the best place for her.

On the first of October 2025 I arrived at VI @ Highlands Ranch for rehabilitation after suffering a…read moreshattered femur. We were greeted by the heads of many departments, including Lisa Nolan, director of nursing and Rachel Elliott, the Outreach Manager for the care center. Rachel went above and beyond, taking late night calls from my daughter after being placed at a facility that was beyond neglectful my first night in Denver to get me moved to VI @ Highlands Ranch the next morning. After being escorted to my room, I met the nurses and CNAs that would make it possible for me to be comfortable in my new surroundings after leaving the hospital in Glenwood Springs where my surgery had been performed. The following morning, I was greeted by Sean my Physical Therapist and we began our morning routine for therapy. Later that first day I also met Laurie as my Occupational therapist who help me learn how to navigate with my wheelchair. I chose to eat my meals in my room and met several aids that gladly brought the delicious, gourmet meals that were prepared for all residents. There was a second Laurie who was a PT that helped combine a swinging movement into daily walking and helped me accomplish taking steps and helping me conquer my fear of stairs. I continued with both PT and OT each day with the goal to move more and be safe to return to my home in Arizona. I occasionally even had therapy on the weekend. My nurses were fabulous. Anna always came with a smile and her talking BP cuff, Monique helped with medication and understanding why I was taking each pill. Jennifer also assisted in getting my cream approved for muscle stiffness. The night nurses, Chris, Bennie and Jenna were always assisting in getting me comfortable for the night and getting me the correct medication. The CNAs were very friendly and offered advice on navigating along with visiting and filling the days with conversations. When walking down the halls everyone greeted and called the residents by name. The lead therapist was Martin and was invaluable in getting the correct therapist to every patient. I thought I was on my way to discharge but it was Martin that said I needed a couple more weeks to help strengthen my leg so I could safely return home in Arizona. His assistance in my exercises will continue to be used now that I am at home. Also, in the therapy department was Kat who became a dear friend as she would make sure I did additional therapy, riding the Nustep to assist in relaxing and strengthening the tight muscles in both legs. When it was time to start planning on discharge and the overwhelming travel to Arizona Rachel once again came to the rescue with information on a chartered flight through JXS in Centennial, Co. This information was invaluable in that I was able to avoid the hassles of DIA and TSA with all my medical equipment and limited mobility. I am immensely grateful as my travel was smooth and comfortable. If anyone is considering a facility for physical rehabilitation, I would highly recommend VI @ Highlands Ranch. You will never find a facility with such professional, caring and helpful staff that are truly concerned with what is best for every resident.

The facility is 1st rate, services stellar (from housekeeping to maintenance), exceptional food, great exercise facililty (pool, fitness center) and a wonderful, extremely competent exercise fitness facilitator/coordinator. The residents are open and caring. This was an emotional change but it's turned out to be really great.
