The flowers were beautiful, I sent them to a friend who recently lost her grandmother. I'm kind of upset that I wasn't contacted about when the flowers would be delivered. I had to contact them myself after about 8 hours when I ordered them, the only thing that they tell me is that they'll be delivered by 6pm..my friend got them but wouldn't have known who they were from if I didn't tell her. When ordering these flowers, I wrote a little note to be added with them, saying they were from me. The little note was not with the flowers. Being that this is pretty much the only flower shop in riverhead, I suggest improving on this because those notes are very important & also somehow giving the customer a tracking number or something of those sorts instead of having your customer worrying all day if the flowers got delivered or not. read more

My mom is very picky about the flowers she does not want, mums of any kind. Over the years, I have had to make this very clear over and over again in my conversation while ordering from florist because it is clear they are not taking it seriously. I can't thank Lauren and Peggy enough for being so accommodating and professional. A week before my wedding I decided it was time to look into a bouquet. I live in Manhattan, which is 2 hours away and I couldn't make a special trip to meet with them for a consult. I sent Lauren pictures via email so she got an idea of what I was looking for. I had a scheduled visit with my wedding venue across the street on a Sunday the week before the wedding. Lauren accommodated me and opened up the shop even though they are closed Sunday. My order was nothing big yet they treated me with respect and went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. When I came in with my husband, Lauren was fantastic. She put together a sample bouquet on the spot so I could get an idea of what it would look like. She was so amazing I decided to also order boutonnières and corsages. One of the boutonnière I wanted made was for a 8 month old and Lauren nailed it! For my nieces I wanted them to have flowers to match my bouquet but since they are young girls Lauren suggested hair pieces which also came out great. The last thing you want to have to worry about on the day of a loved one's funeral is the flower delivery. Unfortunately my family and I had that concern. The memorial began at 9am, the company was notified of this when my family went to pick out the flowers. At about 9:20, the flowers finally showed up. This florist is the BEST! I received a tall, two-stem, stunning white orchid from Riverhead Flower Shop for my February birthday and the orchid is STILL stunning and going strong today, May 26! The longevity of this orchid is so remarkable that after a few weeks when the orchid showed no signs of fading, I carefully touched the flower and leaves to make sure it was real (it is!). I have been doing average maintenance with the orchid (I do not have a green thumb) and still after three months (three months!), it looks as fresh as when it arrived (minus one underneath leaf which yellowed and fell off). We used Peggy and her staff for my daughter's wedding in August, 2016. Not only did they meet my expectations, they exceeded them! Peggy understood our vision from the first visit. What we particularly liked was how she was able to put together a mock up so we could see right away what the bridal bouquet would be like. She even went beyond the normal and decorated the flower petal toss cups to match our decore. She hand rolled tiny rose petals for the girls flower crowns. I chose Riverhead Flower Shop to do the flowers for my wedding of 74 people because my friend who lives near Riverhead swears by their arrangements and I have seen numerous beauties gracing her kitchen table. From the outset when my fiance and I first met Peggy,I knew we were in attentive and professional hands. I had a few ideas of how I wanted the arrangements and bouquets to look. She was so careful to listen to the words I was using to describe my ideal look and put them into floral terms so I could see how that vision I had would come to life. She took care to really find out as much as she could about the venue in order to transform it into the garden of eden that I wanted. On the day of, the bridal party bouquets were fresh, beautifully designed and STURDY! In my case she included some un-bloomed buds of my main flower (peonies) which added a lovely touch and now I get to see them bloom 1 week later. We had Riverhead Flower Shop design some large arrangements to put around the venue which we asked to be more natural looking. When we arrived I was delighted so see gorgeous flowering tree branches in a huge vase, exactly what I'd been thinking of. I had emailed Peggy early on to ask for two individual roses for the ceremony that would be given to our parents. I got nervous when I'd forgotten to email her closer to the ceremony to remind her of this detail, but it wasn't necessary! I ordered a floral arrangement from the Riverhead Flower Shop. I purposely went to this florist wanting to patronize our local shop as opposed to ordering online. Without going into every detail, the bottom line is the arrangement was absolutely unprofessional, the flowers were past their expiration, the vase was not the one I picked out, and it was so skimpy. The salesperson, Janice who took my order was very pleasant and courteous. I have no complaints about her. She asked me how much I wanted to spend on this and I said about $50.00. I was told delivery would me $12.00. Since it was for my granddaughter's 13th birthday, and we were going to see her the next day I decided to pick it up then. However, we called later and asked if they would deliver it instead and was told the charge would be $10.00, not the $12.00 I was told at ordering. That part was fine with me but aren't your prices the same from all employees? When I called and spoke to the owner Peggy, to voice my complaint in a very courteous way,not as an irate customer, I was given every excuse you could possibly use to turn the situation around to make it the customers fault. We ended the phone conversation with her telling me she will call me back. Being the owner, I don't know why she could not resolve at that time. Guess what? It is 5 days, and no phone call, no message, and no Peggy! I will never patronize the Riverhead Flower Shop again and will tell all my neighbors and friends in this area my experience with this business. With so few stores in the town of Riverhead I would think that any businesses presently owned would want to satisfy customers by at least being polite and following up with customer. Very poor customer service. I recently called to ask if I could be provided with an estimated time of delivery. The young lady claiming to be manager answered the phone was very rude. Not once did she ask my name or recipients name or make any effort to give a time frame. She answered my question with "Sometime today" in a very sarcastic manner. It seemed she was already frustrated before I called, and she took out her frustration on me, the customer. I come from HR & management background and would hope the owner of this shop would consider this communication with a paying customer unacceptable as I would my employees. I hope the owner reads this, and speaks to this employee. I placed my call on Saturday, May 7th, sometime between 8a-8:30am. Owner if you are reading, please check to see who was working then. I was told I could not be refunded for poor customer service. I very much regret spending my money with this florist. The woman's presentation and attitude over the phone was so poor that I am happy that she was not decent enough to ask who I or the recipient is. I have a feeling she would have intentionally messed up my order or make it a last delivery or something of that nature. I will try to contact the owner later on this week. I will NEVER purchase from this company again. My sister has also been in contact with them for her wedding (large bridal party), I will be sure to make her aware of my interaction this morning. read more
