I had an amazing experience working with Doris and her team at Mattituck Florist for my wedding at The Old Field Vineyards in June! We live in Los Angeles but decided to get married In Southold, NY where my husband's family has a farm. The destination wedding element added a bit of stress to the whole event, but from my very first conversation with Doris she put all my concerns at ease. My mom and I made a trip back to NY in October, nine months prior to our event. We met with Doris in person at their lovely flower shop in Mattituck where we discussed my vision. I wanted a very classic elegant look with lots of greenery (eucalyptus, lambs ear, etc.) with white flowers (ranunculus, roses, peonies, hydrangeas). This included bouquets, boutonnieres, and a wristlet for those in the wedding party, then decorations for the arbor in addition to garland for the farm tables and wreaths for our round tables. She also made flower crowns and a wooden box for the flower girl petals. We agreed on most items back in October but then I got distracted with everything else until just a few weeks before the wedding. Doris reached out to confirm I was still following the same vision. She assured me she had everything ready to go and they would be beautiful even though we hadn't really talked all that much about it. When the day finally came and I saw what she had put together, I couldn't believe how perfect and beautiful everything was. It was exactly my vision, but so much more impressive, full and lush in person. Every piece she put together was absolutely perfect. The arrangements she hung on the arbor were HUGE! The flowers were still perfectly fresh two days later when we took them down. The way she attached them to the water backings was really neat, and kept the flowers like new even in stormy NY conditions. The greenery was so thick and spilled down the tables with our lanterns scattered around them. I really can't say enough about the incredible quality of the flowers and Doris' attention to detail. My mom and I even went back to review our contract after the fact surprised at how fair her pricing was for what we got. I've personally see friends spend over double for their flowers and receive what I think was way less than what Doris provided. Needing flowers for my father-in-law's gravestone on our yearly Christmas visit, not many stores were open on the North Fork. k low & behold, Mattituck Florist came through. The sop looked like it was closed as it was nearing 5:00. Upon knocking on the door, a lovely young woman opened the door, stopped in the middle of her arrangement creation to make a beautiful bouquet for my husband. Mattituck Florist did a wonderful job with all the floral arrangements for our wedding. We were incredibly late in the game to find a florist - less than 6 weeks out - but they agreed to work with us. Doris has an incredible sense of style and pulled together a beautiful array of bouquets, boutonnieres, and entry and escort table arrangements. The types of flowers, colors and arrangements were perfect. We had a very simple yet specific style in mind, so we spent the time and money purchasing small vases and procuring hand cut wood slices (from a friend), fresh moss and small white candles. In addition to all of the arrangements, Doris outfitted all 100+ vases with small bud flowers. We essentially set up a small floral shop at our venue - we filled all the bud vases with water the day before which were ready for use upon the Doris' arrival the next day. Our caterer's staff was a godsend by placing all the table arrangements throughout the tent (Fifth Season Catering - also amazing) Many thanks to Doris, in particular, for making our wedding so beautiful! read more

I went in to look around. I saw that there were a lot of cats in the store. I tried making small talk with woman behind counter. She wasn't very friendly. They have nice garden items. Flowers were all redundant. Never heard anything great about the place from various people. read more

Very disappointed in both customer service and product. I ordered a funeral arrangement for my dear friend of 2 dozen white roses in a vase. I asked them to add some small blue flowers as it was my friends favorite color. At the wake, there was no blue in the arrangement and the vase was cheap. When I called, the owner was unsympathetic and told me I was lucky they ONLY charged me $129, when they quoted me $124. Her solution was to make a small bouquet for the grave. She was completely unapologetic. I will NEVER use them again and neither should you. read more

I used Mattituck for my wedding this past weekend. I planned my wedding from NJ (about 3 hours away) and had to do most things on line. Doris was helpful and available to me always. I basically sent her a ton of pictures from Pinterest and she recreated them for my centerpieces and bouquets. She also kept in contact with me by sending me pictures of other centerpieces she had made since I wasn't able to visit the shop prior to my wedding. All in all, she made me feel very comfortable. Used them for my wedding and had shopped here before. I was so disappointed in the way things turned out and i was embarrassed to have guests sit with those awful centerpieces. After showing pictures of what I wanted and asking whether the budget would allow it I was reassured it would. I felt so happy in the beginning to be working with them but noticed as it got closer I was snapped at. The day of they forgot a bouquet and corsage and dropped it off right before the wedding was supposed to start so we were rushed through our bridal party pictures. Half way through the night my husbands flower was wilting and all of them were brown by the end of the night. So disappointed. I would never do business with again or recommend them to anyone unless you have an unlimited budget. They don't seem to want to work with people who have small budgets. Went in to buy flowers for my house which I do quite often in the summer - they were in the midst of prepping for a wedding and it seemed to be a stressful environment - I asked about various flowers but kept being told 'that is for a wedding' - ok let's try a different approach - WHAT IS FOR SALE - as she was showing me a wedding person came in to pick something up - the owner runs out and says to the girl waiting on me "go get him blah blah blah" - not excuse me can I steal you for one minute - rude is putting it mildly. She comes back to me and is interrupted another time - picks up these white flowers and says these are for sale, owners literally grabs them and says accusingly to me "these are NOT for sale they are for the wedding: - I turned and walked out. Went to a flower shop in the next town in Cutchogue - and got gorgeous flowers - spent 101.00 - and will be back next weekend for the 4th as well. I spent alot of money at the Mattituck Florist - I remember spending 200 at Christmas alone, but no way in hell I am going to spend my hard earned money in a star where the owner is so rude it's mindboggling. It's ok sweetheart - 2000.00 a year is no big deal I am sure. read more
