    My dad passed away very unexpectedly and we had two hours to decide how we wanted to move forward…read more We chose Bixby-South to handle funeral arrangements and cannot recommend them highly enough. Chris, Carley, JJ, Shirley and the rest of the team have been absolutely incredible every step of the way. We interacted with Chris and JJ the most. Chris was the calm in the eye of a massive hurricane of difficult emotions. JJ was so earnest and clearly takes pride in his work. Here are the things that really stand out: 1.) My dad was cared for like he was a family member. From the moment my dad was moved from the hospital to the home, we felt like he was treated with the utmost care and respect. My dad was quite ill towards the end and we were hesitant about a viewing (for many reasons). Chris shared he had cared for my dad himself and that he looked very good. After much consideration we decided to view my dad. We were astounded by how much care was put into his appearance. He looked absolutely incredible and like we had time traveled back to the healthy, vibrant dad we knew. 2,) Our tired, grief stricken brains could barely make decisions and changed our minds frequently. Chris was so incredibly patient and accommodating. We never once felt like our decision changes were a burden. Chris gently guided our decision making process with helpful suggestions and the Bixby-South team happily accommodated when we changed our plans. Chris also made a suggestion for a burial location that perfectly fit my dad. 3.) We felt like Chris and team really "got" my dad. They asked great questions to understand who my dad was a person. We shared that my dad loved golf and didn't think too much of it. When we arrived at the visitation we were blown away by the level of care and attention to detail to create a themed room that truly captured everything my dad loved. It made our celebration of life so happy and upbeat despite the difficult circumstances. 4.) Communication was also very easy. We appreciated the kind, gentle follow-up decisions and details. There is so much to do in these circumstances in such a short window of time. We appreciated the team's communicativeness and follow-up. A few email threads were lost somehow on a few decision but the team called or sent a text to keep things moving. 5.) Our service was seamless with every detail perfectly orchestrated and coordinated between the Bixby-South team and church. Sending so much gratitude to Chris, Carley, JJ, and team. We can't thank you enough. Thank you for bringing so much peace and joy to this very difficult time.

(A special "hats off" to Walter, who was pleasant even at 2 in the morning and throughout, even in Mike's absence for a time.) Mike Marker and the entire Team at Leonard-Marker Bixby are top tier. At a time when feelings are often on edge, the entire team always seemed to have to have a comfortable/caring Word...a Word in Season. The entire Team's empathy and friendliness, as well as their attention to detail is definitely something Mike & Pam Marker's caring shows thru.     This is a LONG review. Please READ IT and share with loved ones…read more I feel it's important, for the sake of other families who are grieving from the loss a loved one, to post this review. I don't want any family to go through, what our family went through, with this Crematorium. Do not use this funeral home or crematorium! "Cremations Society of Oklahoma", located on 9120 Toledo Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is absolutely horrible. Their mishandling of our loved one, and the services we paid for, was incompetent, insensitive, unprofessional, and inexcusable. I am convinced the reviews, stating 5-stars, are paid for. Gatlyn, Kristine, and their other female employee, should not be in this business. We were grieving the sudden loss of our loved one. This was a time when we needed the help, knowledge, guidance, caring, and competence of a crematorium. They were impersonal, did not take care of important details on their end, which resulted in four major errors, that significantly added to our distress. This company "lost" our paperwork. We took time and care to select a beautiful gold and silver Urn, inscribed with my brother's name, date of birth, and date of passing (3/28/23) on it. Our paperwork was completed, and the services and Urn paid for. 1. His ashes showed up at my house, in a plastic box, with a sticker on it. Kristine made excuses- saying they must have wanted to "rush his ashes" to my home. She then, after checking, said they had no record of my purchased Urn. In fact, they could not find the order details, or the $2200 that we paid for. I provided my copy and payment records. 2. After finally accepting responsibility, with no apology or "I'm so sorry for this error", the wrong Urn was sent out. They then re-ordered the correct one, and re-sent it. 3. To make matters worse- the "date of death" was incorrect. 4. I still have not received the death certificate - 6 weeks after cremation. There has been no apology, compassion, or even a phone call from Gatlyn, the owner, since all of this happened. In fact, the last two text messages we shared, he put on "read". He never responded, when I asked for an estimate of how much longer it would be to receive my brother's death certificate. I ended up calling the State of Oklahoma myself, paying an additional $40 to overnight a copy of my brother's death certificate. These people are incompetent and don't even understand or explain, the Oklahoma laws relating to death certificates. I am also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau
