We're in the process of moving, and that comes with the always freeing, Marie-Kandoing effect of…read moreunloading some items that were useful for one chapter, but might not be for the next. We coordinated (ok, my wife coordinated) a pickup from our curb with them and I have to say it was the smoothest donation process yet. We've done things in the past with a few other organizations that were good, but not as communicative. This group called when they were 30 minutes out, wrote up a receipt and left it with us (all masked up during Covid) and took every single item. When you're clearing out, I feel like there are three tiers: Sell; thing like our newer dresser, bed frame, and other items that people are always going to need. We used FB Marketplace and sold each item in 24 hours or less. Donate; items that might be more niche like art, TV stands, end tables that need a little love, etc. That's where we utilized Habitat. Scrap/trash: We utilize KCMO's large trash pickup and while they have skipped it a time or two, it's pretty good overall. I haven't been into their store to shop around myself, at least not yet, but it seems promising. Highly recommend if you have donations that you can't load or haul yourself!

When I got to the store nothing on the shelf. Erin was working with the light department and explained to me that sometimes when the truck gets unloaded that updates the website but they do not typically put it on the shelf until the next day. I guess my facial expression must have been pretty obvious I didn't care for that answer. So she suggested calling the store manager on duty. On comes Allen. He heard the situation and realized me coming back in the morning wasn't a good fit. So he said it was going to take him a bit but he was going to go see what he could do if I didn't mind waiting. About 20 mins later here he came with the exact breaker I needed and apologized for the inconvenience. I thanked him for his customer service and saving me another trip. Terrible customer service! We spent around $15,000 on windows and doors. We have called several…read more(5+) because we don't have a screen for one of our windows still after 7months and the openers for the casement windows! When we call the main office to talk to someone they continually refer us to our rude salesman! Would never buy anything from them again. Update: After one of their associates saw our reviews someone from Kansas City Building Supply called and ordered us our screen and said they have the openers at their facility. We are happy to get results, but it's too bad that we have to go through social media to get results.

We rented a truck from a nearby "Home" improvement store, drove to JCBM, paid for the rock and had the truck bed loaded in less than 10 minutes, and were on our way...thus saving ourselves about 30% (not to mention multiple trips to the store). We happen to only live a few miles away, but if we were any further away or needed more rock, it would have made economic sense to just pay for delivery based on crunching the numbers.
