You really only want to use this location if you absolutely have to. Poor customer service for years, they're not friendly, not helpful, most don't speak English well enough for a business that depends on customer communication and pretty much deserve to go under. Have had multiple poor experiences here. Try West End Registries and you'll see how these businesses should be run. read more

I was at the Registry today at 5:39, the woman who serve in the corner was really rude and yield that she can completed my son's documents as they where going to close soon (21 minutes were not enough) My son need it to changed from Quebec to AB his driver License and the registration of his car. This was the third time that he was in this location and they always have something different to add. We drove 5 minutes south to Windermere and the gentleman who provides the services was great, everything was done in not time. Truth is, I don't like giving one star ratings. But I've been to Riverbend Registry Services 4 times, and 4 times in a row I have found their customer service insulting. I had epilepsy as a kid, which sucked, but I outgrew it. Naturally, the guys in charge are nervous about me driving, and I get an annual medical. Fair enough. Three years ago, they gave me hell and asked me to get a medical for my walker's license. Two years ago, they demanded I provide not only a full driver's medical, but also a note from my doctor at the University of Alberta Hospital stating that I was fit to drive. These cost $75 each. Last year and this year, they have demanded it again, and I have refused. It was clearly stated in the letter provided to them that I was fully beyond the issue, and that I would not be seeing this doctor any longer. Every year the Riverbend Registry Services has demanded to get another, and tried to make me feel like some sort of criminal when I refused. Then, like every other year, she calls her manager, who tells her to accept the application. I fully understand that registry services must maintain thorough documentation and check on such things. However, this issue has been fully documented, and insulting your customer is not a good way to handle the situation. The registry up at Kingsway in comparison, has treated me with courtesy and respect, and told me that I could ask to have my annual license repealed to four years. Riverbend Registry Services never did this. I'd rather drive halfway across the city to Kingsway's registry services than go to Riverbend Registry Services again. Their camera never works, the debit machine only works half the time. And you will have to wait 20 minutes to find this out and be turned around. Only positive is that the staff i've ever dealt with have been apologetic and polite. read more

I see many bad reviews for here, but must say they were much more pleasant to deal with than several of the other registries in South Edmonton. Not only did they accept my paperwork for processing when another Registry said the system was down, they did so with courtesy. Does this business feel like something out of an episode of Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul? Oh yeah. Complete with the well-worn riveted leather chairs and the tacky "take a number" roll, I felt like I stepped back into the 80's. They were open until 8pm on Monday, which was nice as the other registry office I mentioned had delayed me past 6pm, preventing a stop at another more convenient location. read more

I called ahead to ask if they do name changes for Alberta Health. The woman that answered the phone said they were only open for 10 more minutes and then hung up. We got there just before closing only to find out that no one was there that could do the name change. I told them I had just called ahead to find out if they could do it... No apologies. Nothing. I was at the Registry yesterday about 3:45 pm to transfer the registration on my vehicle. It was my first visit there, and probably the last. The woman who served me was very rude and unfriendly. However, to her credit, the transaction was completed without any errors. She should realize that registry business is very competitive and friendly customer service would encourage repeat business. Also, they have a poor printer which offset the printing and made the registration slip difficult to read. When I questioned her about the poor printing it was simply shrugged off. read more

I took my class 5 advanced and failed the first time. The examiner, Pam was very fair and indicated what I had done wrong. I went back home and reviewed the sheet and practiced. I did some homework and watched some videos on YouTube on some common mistakes re speed control, stopping for 3 seconds, etc. Few days later I went back. Before my second attempt, I chatted with my examiner again and reviewed some of the errors from the first test. I brought the sheet with me and asked some questions about the mistakes I made. This time I successfully passed and only had 20 points deducted. (I actually was hoping to have NO points deducted but 20 is pretty good!) Here are some suggestions 1. Driving is privilege. If you failed, you've made lots of mistakes. The points add up. Follow the rules of the road. 2. Study before your test and practice, practice, and practice! I was very confident with my driving skills and did not expect to fail but my speed control was not very good and I had forgotten to put on the hand brake after uphill parking. 3. It is a picky test and it is rather long. Lots of turns, school zones and uncontrolled intersections! Stay alert. Also the registry staff were pleasant and friendly! Be safe on the roads! I could easily walk to this Registry but I make a point to go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Rude staff, disorganized atmosphere, arbitrary policies designed to maximize fees and hassle. The entire organization lacks professionalism. After a couple year break, I gave them another chance, and it was worse than I remembered. Take a number, hope for the best. I used this location for my motorcycle road test. I was able to book online which was great. When I arrived the office was clean and open. You take a number so you don't need to stand in line. The staff were friendly and professional. After the test there was a minor issue with scanning a form to change the classification of my license. It took longer than I would expect to resolve, but again the staff were courteous and apologetic - so I had no issues overall. I would use them again. read more

I cannot believe the insensitive service I received this morning! I brought my mom in - She is 87 years old and has dementia - To get a Senior's ID Card. I have power of attorney and take care of nearly all her affairs. To start off, the woman questioned my mom about her lost driver's license, making her feel stupid. She then argued about the bill I'd brought in as proof of address - One of her colleagues had to step in to repeatedly tell her it was fine. My mom tried to joke with her, but she brushed her off with a rude comment and not even a hint of a smile. She then argued over putting my phone number on the card as the primary contact. Really? My mom cannot remember things and it would be pointless to contact her. And I have power of attorney! What should have been a pleasant outing for my mom turned into a situation that made her feel old and stupid. What a horrific experience - I would strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere! If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I went out of my way to create a Yelp account in order to write this review. It's the only registry in the Riverbend area, and I ended up driving to Summerside just to renew my drivers license!! I went on a busy Saturday as it was my only day off that week. After waiting for 30 min and watching one of their employees yell at her printer they finally called my number. I went up to the front desk to be told I didn't have the proper documentation, I apologized and left. 2 days later I returned with the documentation she requested, only to be told I still needed more. I discussed with her that the lady that helped me on the previous Saturday told me that was the only documentation I needed. She gave me no justification and just stared at me blankly. My overall experience with them was horrible! I would highly recommend going to another registry office. read more

I went it to the Riverbend Registry Services as it is close to me but WOW what a bad experience. I went in to buy a personalized plate for my husband for Christmas. I had done research and knew how much it would cost and most of the details needed. The wait time was odd as there was staff just sitting there. Another customer told me that this wasn't a line and that I would go and have to ask someone to help me. The woman that 'helped' me was so rude and abrupt, I wondered if she had mistaken me for someone else that had wronged her in some way. During this unusual service, I asked her how long it would take to see if the name on the plate would be accepted, she rudely told me that she wouldn't be finishing the on-line form if it hadn't already been approved. I filled out the form saying it was a *surprise* gift for my husband, my name & number, his name and number. She also told me that he wouldn't get the plate, this was early November, till after Christmas *which I found out later from a nice person at Service Alberta was not true at all*. I paid the fee and in a confused state left. A few days later she called my husband(so NOT a surprise any more), to say the name on the plate was not accepted. I actually was so stunned by the whole experience that I brought my husband with me as I thought there would be issues with that too. I asked for, and got, my money back (including the service fee) after speaking to a manager. It was a very bad experience. Never again. read more

I have been a customer of this location for over 4 years and I cannot recall an experience with their staff where I did not feel like I was being treated like a prison inmate. I continue to go here because of the convenient location but I always walk away shocked that any business could treat anyone so rudely. I have lived in this area for 40 years, and this is the closest registry, but the last 3-4 times I have been there, I was confronted with the rudest women. They even argued with me about needing specific documentation that they were wrong about, after the male colleague corrected them on not one but two separate occasions. I will gladly go somewhere else. PS If you get the male he is very pleasant and friendly... Unfortunately he has at least 3 bitchy women he works with... Poor guy! read more

Bad. Needed an out of province inspection form. Wouldn't give it to me without the federal inspection being done first. (Both inspections can be done at the same automotive shop.) Drove to All Registeries where they gave me the form to allow both inspections to be done at the same time. Thanks a lot Riverbend Registry. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Don't go there! There was zero privacy when you talked to the staff, especially one of the lady there who said out LOUD to ask your personal information with a full room of people that do not have a choice, but force me to listen to all the informations she repeated from her customers, including health problems, address, birthday, phone numbers and more..... I was yelled at treated as bad as it gets at every Registry in Edmonton. The Riverbend Registry is the only one that seemed to have all the know how when it comes to putting papers in order, getting plates, or any other task that needs to be done. If this Registry was as bad as these other say then why is it standing room only and the job getting done. The lady's that work there are very nice. Sometimes, as it is with most service to the public places people that come in are in a hurry want their problems taken care of first and are in such a hurry that their rudeness rubs off on others. I say check yourself and be patient it will get done in a timely manner. These ladies know their stuff and all they want is to help you. They have always been very very good with any issues I have ever brought to them. I would like to thank them for the hard work they do for all of us here in Edmonton.
