Since moving to Columbia, South Carolina we're hadn't been able to find good health care unfortunately but when my Fiance broke a filling and was experiencing pain we had to search hard for a reliable office to take care of him and our family dental needs. I'm beyond thankful i came across this office which had all good reviews so we scheduled an appointment and they got him on immediately. Our office experience was being amazing everyone was super hospitable, knowledgeable and acted with genuine care from the dental assistant , office manager Lauri and Doctor Marshall himself! They have taken such great care to alleviate the pain he was in and create a care plan to help improve both of our oral health. So happy I found River Vista Dentistry. I was unhappy at my previous dentist and trusted other Yelpers to come here. The office is super convenient to my house, the staff is wonderful and they are up to date with the latest dental technology and comforting patient accommodations. Kelsey is an angel receptionist. I had an original new patient appointment set for the end of July and she worked with my schedule to get me in a month sooner. Heidi was my hygienist and she was so nice and gentle. She walked me through everything, made sure I was kept comfortable and showed me how to use the massaging chair and tv. My second visit here, the process is seamless. Call and schedule your appointment, fill out the Covid screening questionnaire before you go in, texts alerts days before and day of appointment. Friendly greeting when entering, temperature taken, every staff is properly masked, the hygienist talked to me so so much. I could tell she picked up on my gift of gab! I appreciate that. I could also feel that if I didn't want to chat - she would have just worked on my pearly whites and allowed me to watch the television above me, rest, or whatever. Hands were cleaned by dentist when he came in, he greeted me, he performed an evaluation and provided my assessment. He was welcoming, gentle, and knowledgeable (obviously!). Best dentist in CLT! I am seriously heartbroken to be switching dentists now that my new job's insurance doesn't cover Dr. Marshall. He was the first and only dentist to discover my chronic teeth clenching, answered any questions I had with my level of knowledge, and is ALWAYS in a good mood. And don't even get me started on the massage chairs and ceiling Netflix!! I was even able to take care of his family at the birth of their first baby, and have recommended many close friends to him. The reason for writing this review is to let you all know nothing has changed from the past reviews on yelp. The quality of service and care you receive is five star. The doctor is talented and always making sure you are comfortable. I had a crown and a filling done today. The filling was for the space between tooth and gums since they receded, did you know they can do that? You 50+ hard brushes know what I'm talking about. Anyhow, I watched a movie on Netflix and before I knew the work was done. The doctor made sure I liked the color of the crown in the back of my mouth, and I didn't. It was not the right color, so he made another. They make permanent crowns now all in one visit. Who knew, haha, I haven't had a crown done in 14+ years, things have changed. The staff is very friendly and professional. Great location. I couldn't be happier. So stop neglecting those teeth and get in there and don't forget to floss. read more

I just relocated to the Steele Creek area from Seattle and have been dreading finding a new dentist but Dr. Marshall and his staff have surpassed all expectations! The front desk staff is upfront, courteous and accommodating. The professional staff is just as great if not better... Jannell, the dental assistant is kind, gentle and extremely personable in addition to her dental knowledge. While Dr. Marshall is down to earth, funny and has by far the most gentle hands I've ever had in a dentist. I had to have several shots of novicane and didn't feel a thing! You can tell that these guys are passionate about what they do and actually care about their patients. Heck, they even remembered things I mentioned during my first visit and made a point to ask me about them when I returned. Highly disappointed. After trying for some time to schedule an appointment, I was able to finally get an appointment for today that I scheduled a month ago. I showed up for my appointment 10 minutes early only to be told that because they could not verify my insurance my appointment was cancelled. The staff member then proceeds to tell me that if I could bring my insurance information in I could get a later appointment. She tells me while we verify your insurance you can run some errands, I think not. What upset me most is that when friends ask if I know I a good dentist in the area, I always refer them to River Vista. I've been going to Dr. Marshall since we moved into the area - about two years now. When I tell you this is HANDS DOWN the BEST dentist I've ever met, I am not exaggerating. I've had a LOT of dentists and some really painful treatments. The assessment that Dr. Marshall's office takes asks about your past history. I answered the questions honestly about my past experience and every time I go now, they make sure to tailor my appointment around (or at least mention that they're thinking about) my concerns that I filled out on the form. I often have to have deep cleanings that require numbing shots. I'm convinced Dr. Marshall is also a magician. The first time I got the shot, I never even *saw* the needle. I was halfway through the numbing shot before I realized that there was a giant needle in my mouth and I only realized it then because he said "we're about halfway done, doing great". Not exaggerating, here. Since then, he's explained to me the techniques that he's using to reduce pain and anxiety about the shot and even still, I have to pay attention to realize what's happening. They do really good, thorough work and everyone is polite and they work quickly. The office is always clean, they have new Covid-19 safety procedures and a lovely waiting room. TV's on the ceiling and did I mention MASSAGE chairs while you get your treatment done?! You will not regret going to River Vista Dentistry, I'm confident that this is as good as it gets! read more

They were very "Covid conscious" and seemed to employ every possible process and procedure to make me feel safe and comfortable. We talked and laughed and I met several of the staff members. Dr. Marshall is our hero!! We are here for a cheer competition, and while practicing the night before the competition started my daughter was kicked in the face, breaking four of her teeth. After calling dentist office after dentist last night and this morning, I received a phone call from his office. Not only did he squeeze us in at the end of his day on a Saturday, and the weekend of his wedding anniversary, he, his assistant, and office staff stayed for 3 hours after closing to repair my daughters teeth.
