I've gotten CSA boxes…read morethrough several other farms before (both in Seattle and Wisconsin) and the Seattle Tilth CSA really delivered. Each week the produce was diverse, fresh, and delicious. Items were well selected and I had very little produce go to waste. The half share was a good amount for my wife and I. I also really liked the add-on options; we were out of town one week, and were able to get credit, we used our credit to select goat cheese and honey from the add-on options. That goat cheese was truly incredible! I've also got to commend Seattle Tilth for their educational programming and community empowerment work. Really a great resource for our city.

Christa is kind, cool and friendly whenever I have questions or want anything in particular. The main love I have for them is that everything is organic AND plenty of variety to select from! Yams, carrots, garlic? They gots 'em, yo. Their booth size is very decent covering a variety of roots, greens, herbs and jams. Lately, I've been loading up on potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams for steaming and baking. They're located south in the arcade - just a short walk north from the flying fish crowd. Growing Washington changed the way we cook and eat!!! We've been members of this CSA for three years and have offered our front porch as a hosting site. They provide 100% LOCAL and ORGANIC fruits, veggies, and even butter, flour, fresh flowers, herbs, and eggs. All the products are fresh and unique. The BEST thing about this CSA is that they provide a LIST of all the FRESH stuff on the farm that week, and you CHOOSE what works best for your taste, cooking style, and needs. You can be adventurous one week, and conservative next week. It's all so flavorful and delicious. I've been particularly impressed with the service. We've been going with the CSA for three years and anytime there has been questionable quality they always replace it, no questions asked. Two weeks in a row we got some icky misuna, and the third week they sent us FLOWERS. I always feel like I end up on top. Just another reason to love summer in Seattle.

It was…read moreso much fun to go out (it was a beautiful day) and come home with almost 16 pounds of blueberries! I picked about 8 pounds and paid only $15. When you get there, there's a small table with walker talkies for you to page the owner. The owner of the farm come out and talks to you about the blueberries and tell you to page him if you have any questions or need any help. The blueberries are beautiful and to me seemed very organic, no pesticides or herbicides seemed to be used. My friends participate in the "CSA" box that this farm offers that delivers a box or fresh vegetables and food to your door and a scheduled regular drop-off. They said some of the vegetables they've never seen before and they love experimenting with different foods they can make. Such a great local farm! Definitely a family friendly excursion!

It's an amazing place to take kiddos (they…read moreeven have their own u-pick lots!) to see how veggies are grown, there are even chicken that kids can feed. The veggies themselves are super fresh and it's a great variety. We've definitely had more variety when we were in CA since it's bigger farms but we still walked away with chard, Tokyo Bekana, 2 types of lettuce, delicious beets, herbs and more. Super happy to have access to the fresh veggies for the remainder of the season and having it be an interactive family outing and learning for our 2.5yo daughter. Stephanie and Claire are amazing and have such great customer service. Due to the heatwave we brought our fruit from the Redmond market in and in our rush, we forgot it there and by the time we got back, someone took it on accident. Stephanie called all the members with fruit pickups to see who mistakenly took it. To our surprise they found the person the day later and we're getting our fruit! (Was super sad since I couldn't find cherries and stone fruit of the same caliber at PCC yesterday).

I settled on two pints of strawberries for 10 dollars. When we went to eat the berries back in the truck, both boxes were damaged, moldy and inedible under the top layer. The berries we did try were a bit watery and flavorless, not what I was hoping for from an organic farm (never mind the price). The crops looked nice and well cared for in the fields but I was pretty underwhelmed but the quality of the tiny selection of produce. 3 stars for being organic and the concept of the setup. A…read morefriend told us about Meadowwood's storefront, and I was impressed with the farming practices on their website. It was about a 30 minute drive for us, and such a scenic one at that. There were 2 other cars going in/out at the same time as us, which was a good sign. You have to drive down a single lane dirt farm road that leads to a few parking spots on the side of a tiny house. The store itself is unmanned, but there are loads of instructions for their wonderful and convenient self service check out station. When we went, they had chicken eggs, different cheeses, raw milk, honey, rennet, and some beef and pork items in the freezer, and some.yougrt starting kits. We bought chicken eggs ($8/pack), portabella cheese, and a strawberry start ($5). We were really hoping to find a spot that sold unwashed eggs, so we won't likely be back. But the animals on this farm were so peaceful and relaxed, you can tell they take great care of them.

The Tonnemaker family grows some of the finest organic produce in WA State. Most is grown at the…read morefamily's larger farm and orchards in Royal City. You can find them at various farmers markets throughout the state, but you can also now find them at the relatively new Woodinville farm. This smaller farm serves as a base of operations for Puget Sound. But it is a working farm, and the Tonnemaker grow many vegetables right here. Cucumbers (when they are in season) are also available as you pick here. The farm stand sells the produce from both Woodinville and Royal City. It's open a couple days of the week in the early season, then moves to a seven day a week schedule as the season progresses. Everything here is fresh and organic--and delicious!
