Items were well selected and I had very little produce go to waste. The half share was a good amount for my wife and I. I also really liked the add-on options; we were out of town one week, and were able to get credit, we used our credit to select goat cheese and honey from the add-on options. That goat cheese was truly incredible! I've also got to commend Seattle Tilth for their educational programming and community empowerment work. Really a great resource for our city.

Christa is kind, cool and friendly whenever I have questions or want anything in particular. The main love I have for them is that everything is organic AND plenty of variety to select from! Yams, carrots, garlic? They gots 'em, yo. Their booth size is very decent covering a variety of roots, greens, herbs and jams. Lately, I've been loading up on potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams for steaming and baking. They're located south in the arcade - just a short walk north from the flying fish crowd. Thumbs up & much love!

After one bite, my husband (who mostly ate spinach has his primary veggie), announced, "I never thought I liked beets, but these taste sooo good!!!" Growing Washington changed the way we cook and eat!!! We've been members of this CSA for three years and have offered our front porch as a hosting site. They provide 100% LOCAL and ORGANIC fruits, veggies, and even butter, flour, fresh flowers, herbs, and eggs. All the products are fresh and unique. The BEST thing about this CSA is that they provide a LIST of all the FRESH stuff on the farm that week, and you CHOOSE what works best for your taste, cooking style, and needs. You can be adventurous one week, and conservative next week. It's all so flavorful and delicious. I've been particularly impressed with the service. We've been going with the CSA for three years and anytime there has been questionable quality they always replace it, no questions asked. Two weeks in a row we got some icky misuna, and the third week they sent us FLOWERS. I always feel like I end up on top. Just another reason to love summer in Seattle.

You can find them at various farmers markets throughout the state, but you can also now find them at the relatively new Woodinville farm. This smaller farm serves as a base of operations for Puget Sound. But it is a working farm, and the Tonnemaker grow many vegetables right here. Cucumbers (when they are in season) are also available as you pick here. The farm stand sells the produce from both Woodinville and Royal City. It's open a couple days of the week in the early season, then moves to a seven day a week schedule as the season progresses. Everything here is fresh and organic--and delicious! We tried a different CSA last year (there are four local organic CSA options that deliver to my husband's workplace) and we much prefer Helsing. We like Helsing better because they have given us more variety, because we adore the fruit share, and because they have taken the time to provide good recipes. We signed up for the mini share and are hard pressed to keep up with what we receive every week! There are the two of us and we're vegetarians, yet we get so much from them every week that we can't eat it all before the next batch arrives. We freeze, can, or give away extra, it's that generous. The CSA we had last year from the different farm kept giving us the same things week after week--carrots, chard, potatoes--and we're really pleased that Helsing has so much changing variety. Sometimes we have only received something for a week or two and wish we could be getting it for longer! We LOVE the fruit share. Local organic fruit costs us high prices at the Oly farmer's market, but with the fruit share we are getting a great deal. The first few weeks are a little slow when only berries are ready, but after that we get a ton of stone fruit that is delicious and much more bang for our buck than at the farmer's market. For example, one week I was at the market and bought a container of cherries for about $15. A few days later my fruit share gave me the same amount of cherries plus several other pounds of fruit, all for $15 a week. Nice. We get peaches, nectarines, apples, berries, plums, pluots, etc etc We have tried a number of their recipes, and have been impressed. Someone has put a lot of effort into finding recipes that only use the seasonal ingredients that are actually tasty. Everything has been good, and a few have been excellent, such as the recipe for fennel with honey, goat cheese, etc --it's amazing. You can search their recipe database by ingredients. I appreciate that they never leave me hanging for ideas, since with every CSA you get exposed to both old and new ingredients and the recipe help is appreciated.
