Received a deep tissue and Thai combination host stone massage. It was absolutely relaxing and the massage therapist consistently checked in with me to see if the pressure was okay as well as if I was. It seems like this place is an old gem and the reason for my 4 star was due to the limited parking and also because I asked the therapist consistently to focus on my calves but wasn't sure it was landing but outside of that it was a really good experience. The post massage tea and chocolate was also sooo good!
Great online portal for scheduling and really great massages. Have come here for Swedish, Hot Stone, and Lymphatic Massages. This is my go to for massages in Houston.
I initially discovered River Oaks Thai Massage from my Class Pass subscription and decided to give them a try. It's located in a small, quaint, cottage style house. The location was easy to find however there is no easily accessible parking which is a bit of a bummer. There was only a small driveway for cars (max 2) however, I was able to find street parking around the corner close to the nearby apartment complex (simply because I'm familiar with the area). I was greeted with great hospitality as soon as I entered. I filled out my paperwork and was quickly taken to room even before my scheduled time. There's several different massage rooms and plenty of massage therapist which is nice to know especially if you're trying to make a last minute appointment (they've definitely got staff). I opted for the combo Thai/Sweedish massage which was lovely and exactly what I needed. The rooms are very spacious and the beds were as well, I've actually never had a massage bed that was queen size before. Tammy (masseuse) was very professional and listened exactly to the type of pressure I preferred. Thai massages incorporate lots of stretching and gentle adjustments which was neat to experience. It was exactly what I needed for tense areas in my back and shoulders. Afterwards, I was given the option for water or tea and a Ferroe Rocher chocolate delight, which was a lovely touch. River Oaks Thai Massage has impressive star ratings for a reason. Great service, I would certainly recommend giving them a try.
Finally, I decided to cross something off my bucket list. 8 straight hours of massage. I'm pretty sure I had the most therapeutic and rewarding day of my life as a result. If I could describe the feeling of my practitioners on my ever-so grateful and receptive body, I would say that one played each of my muscle fibers like a classical guitar, while the other walked my back like a graceful ballet dancer. Each with the strength of an army. Not so much as a bead of sweat or exasperated breath from either of them the whole time. They knew exactly how to navigate anatomy and meridian points. Precision accuracy like surgeons! "Are you about to break my ankle off??! Ok. Cool. " Worth every penny and pain I had to bear through and I would do it again in a heartbeat. This place is truly epic.

I came here after really needing a back massage and my experience was amazing. I booked a 60 minute combination Thai massage online. They confirm your appointment via email and send a reminder as well which is great. They have you fill out the initial form for any previous injuries and where you'd like a focus on. Patrick gave me my massage, and I added on the CBD oil and the walking on my body. Everything felt so relieving and was much needed. Patrick knew exactly where to focus and read my body and reactions well. After the service, they give you a water and chocolate. If you leave a google review, they also give a complimentary bath salt pack. The staff at the front was also super sweet and helpful throughout my entire experience! The only downside was very little parking to the side of the building where you can end up blocked in since it's one lane, but there is also street parking available next to the apartments near it. Definitely will be coming back for more frequent massages!
I've passed by this establishment several times on my commute home. So today on my birthday I decided to treat myself to a massage! I booked a traditional Thai/swedish massage for an hour. August [i hope I'm spelling that right] was my masseuse and she exceeded my expectations. I've never had anyone walk on my back and it was an experience. She constantly checked in to make sure I was okay, needed more pressure. The foot massage. The foot massage. The foot massage. I always find it hard to completely zone out and relax during massages and I can say that I was so relaxed I dozed off several times. After the massage I stayed in the room to gather my thoughts. I was offered some tea after that just sealed the deal. This was a perfect way to start off my birthday. I will definitely be back for the cupping massage and the CBD oil. If you're looking for a place to relax and get a great massage this is the place for you
I was in town for a friend's birthday weekend and a couple of us decided to get a massage. We chose River Oaks Thai Massage because of their rating on Yelp (pretty much 5 stars). I had a 60 minute combo thai massage and it was amazing. I'd only had thai massages in Thailand, and this experience was authentic. They stretched me and released my tight hips, shoulders and glutes. This was well worth it and I probably should have gotten a 90 minute massage. My masseuse was Matt and he was great!
I booked a Thai combo massage through class pass for an hour. There is a sign in sheet at the desk and also a separate list to sign if you booked on ClassPass. They do ask where your problem areas are you want focused and what kind of pressure you prefer. I opted for medium strong. I was taken to my room right after check in and got to relax a few minutes before my appointment time. I had the honor of getting a great massage by Siri. I'm very tight and knotted and she definitely went in. At some points I wasn't sure if I could stick it out but I breathed through it. I'll definitely be back and booking at least 90 minutes. Very clean and relaxing environment!
I came here for a one hour deep tissue massage, and I had a great experience with Diana. I opted for the "walking on back", and my experience was a 10/10. I appreciated the heavy pressure from that and the stretching poses. My masseuse recognized my tight areas and worked on them which was MUCH appreciated. I will for sure be coming back asap, 10/10.
My friend and I got a couple's massage and although my therapist did a great job, my friend's massage was unsatisfactory. My friend's therapist did not ask/prompt/check-in the entire time, whereas mine was very communicative and asked probing questions. The massage could've included more stretching like I'm used to. My boyfriend and I booked a two hour couples massage and it was incredible! The massage therapist were so kind and attentive. They checked in numerous times to make sure I was comfortable and whether or not the pressure was good or too much. The entire experience was so relaxing and therapeutic. The smell of eucalyptus really made the experiment feel so luxurious. My boyfriend also booked the special so we received champagne and the CUTEST charcuterie box. This place was amazing and Rose really knows what's she's doing. She was very attentive even before she touched me. She asked me about injury and my activity level and how much I sit for work. The time went by so fast and was so thorough with stretching me. The recovery massage was even more relaxing. It's definitely interactive and be prepared to not be quiet at all. Oooh gosh we loved our couple massages with Nita & Nicky! They were so sweet and very knowledgeable with awesome strong hands! Their massage technique was super beneficial and customized to what we need!! I am dealing with health challenges and my daughter treated me to a visit for a Swedish massage - the environment is so calm and beautiful- they settled us in a beautiful room and rubbed away all the aches and trauma the doctors have been putting my body through- hot stones , gentle pressure and a fab head massage! Everyone was so amazing- and it was very reasonable rates and we got the extras - I got CBD and my daughter got cupping , At the end we were treated with a chocolate and an amazing herbal tea - don't miss out - make room for yourself !
