Thought I would update my review, since I have officially been coming here for 10 years. I highly recommend this office. They are very proactive in taking care of any future problems, any problems that you currently have going on, and everything else in between. I absolutely hate the dentist, but they do try to make everything about the experience enjoyable. Everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and your time there "enjoyable." This place gave me my first experience with the "the gas". And I love them for that. They hook you up with headphones and and a pillow, then gas you right on up. I don't know about you guys but when the Doc is drilling at my teeth, I wanna be in LA-LA land, and I don't want to hear the drilling! They are professional, make you feel comfortable, and they have all new technology and machines. But the bad part is that they are so freaking expensive. I feel like I've already put the owners children through college with the darn fee bill i get from these people! So to be honest, I need to find another place that is good, gives me the gas, and does not break the bank. read more

Dr. Testa and her amazing staff gave me the perfect smile I have been seeking. My front tooth was chipped, and after being told by several dentists in the Houston area that I should "live with it", "there was nothing that could be done", "it wasn't that bad", I called River Oaks Dental Arts. I received a consultation appointment the same day I called and was told by Dr. Testa that repair was possible. She explained the chip was due to a shift in my bite requiring some orthodontic work to ensure the repair would be long-lasting (something no other dentist even mentioned). Her expertise and skill gave me the smile I had lost and I am happier than ever. She and her staff are first-class in every way...knowledgable, friendly, and kind. Dentist + Artist + Techy = Dr. Palmira Testa at River Oaks Dental Arts... I don't think I've ever experienced such a thorough hi-tech dental examination in my life! At 54 years of age it's apparently even more important to know what's going on in your mouth. Per the education I received yesterday, dental issues can cause all sorts of problem throughout our bodies... who knew! My regular dentist fixed a chip front tooth a few months ago that broke again and that's why I decided to try someone else and was recommended to visit River Oaks Dental Arts. Outside of the shoddy work on my chipped front tooth, my regular dentist did not point out any of the issues I apparently have after his questionable examination. In short, seeing is believing and Dr. Testa not only showed me what immediate concerns I should have, she also pointed out things that are in progress that will become expensive issues down the road if not addressed now. As unnerving as it can be in a dentist chair, I want to thank Dr. Testa and her staff for the comfortable, educational, and hi-tech evaluation I received during my visit. Completely took advantage of my husband. They lead him to believe he'd be paying one fee when in fact they were not in network and never disclosed that to him. Then after the insurance paid the out of network claims, he was balanced billed. Upon scheduling he asked if they accepted our insurance and they said yes, they presented a treatment plan with what they expected insurance to pay but when it was way less, he owed the difference. They saw him as a cash vulnerable opportunity who needed a lot of dental work and took advantage of it. Well he's out and now can go literally across the street to get his deep scale cleanings at a $O copay. Too bad. He liked you. He was ready to go back to the dentist and have work done but you all screwed that up by taking full advantage of him and misrepresentation of accepting him insurance. New patients be careful. They say yes but they mean no. read more

I've never loved a dentist before this. I've been going to Dr. Testa and her awesome hygenist, Diane, since shortly after she opened her practice several years ago. She is on top of the latest product developments (purple foam fluoride?), which makes the experience a little extra fun, and you can see your teeth on the computer screen in front of you. What really sets her apart is how proactive she is about dental care. Nothing gets by her. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. I fear going to the dentist due to a horrific experience. Dr.Testa and her staff are top notch. I was running late due to construction...30min to be exact..Dianne and Dr.Testa went above and beyond to take care of my issue. Even offering happy gas to calm my nerves down to listening to a set of headphones with my choice of music. They explained all procedures. They made me feel comfortable and at ease. This is probably the best experience one could ever have at a dentist. About a year ago, I set up my first appt. I was scared (and ashamed) to go, because I hadn't been to the dentist in 5 years, due to being in college, starting my first job, not having the time and not having dental insurance for a while, etc...I finally said no excuses and did it. Needless to say I was a little nervous and skeptical, because most dentists these days will try to nickel and dime you, in addition to the already unpleasant experience of going to the dentist. Not the case with them. The staff, specifically Diane, made me feel so comfortable and put me at ease. I immediately felt at home. The technology truly is top-notch. Your first appt. is 2 hours because they need time to fully assess your mouth/dental history, and they take a lot of x-rays. The x-rays - let me tell you, that experience has totally changed. It's non-invasive compared to what it used to be. Long story short, I walked out of there actually wanting to come back. Fast forward a year, I've recommended them to people I know looking for a dentist (and even those who weren't). So far, my roommate and co-worker have both tried Dental Arts. My colleague probably thought I was just exaggerating when I would talk about how great they are, but after he finally went, he could not stop raving about them either. I think we've even successfully convinced another colleague to try them. They will not disappoint! read more

One day (a Friday) before my high school reunion, and my at-home, OTC teeth-whitening kit was a bust. Out of desperation, I decided pay $500 to have Zoom! whitening done. I called my dentist's office. I've gone there since I was in middle school. But, they couldn't (wouldn't) fit me in before they closed at 1:00 p.m. or stay a little late for me. So I called at least a dozen places. If they were open, they didn't have time for me, or they didn't do Zoom!. One place even offered to do it if I came in after hours and paid cash. Um... No thanks. River Oaks Dental managed to fit me in, the same day--and they were having a special on the Zoom! They had their new patient and consent forms on their website--another plus! I brought them in with me, and the tech explained everything and was very nice. The dentist, Dr. Testa, seems wonderful as well. I had been wanting to change dentists, since my old dentist is a curmudgeon of a man who isn't all that nice to me (though his work, I've been told my other dentists who see my teeth) is excellent. But I want both a nice and competent dentist. If my experience with the Zoom! whitening is any indication, River Oaks is going to be my new dental clinic! :-) read more

This was the absolute worst experience of my life after stepping into this dental office for caps. First, Dr Testa never made an initial pre op mold which is the only mold of my natural teeth and bite and then blamed her dental assistant and dental lab for losing it but it was never made, which is unheard of for any cosmetic dentist not to make pre op molds and duplicates of these molds in case they are lost and then the back up would be the second mold. After all, it's the only mold of your natural smile and bite! Due to this irresponsible action, my first initial set of caps and additional numerous resin temporaries and final set of crooked caps took over 4 years to create and during this nightmare, none of the temporaries ever resembled my natural smile, tooth shape,angles or my natural bite. Instead the first set of caps looked like big thick horse teeth with a huge overbite, crooked caps and numerous spaces that I never had. The shape of my teeth, angles of my teeth and bite were a guessing game and no one knew what my actual bite was but I certainly did and what she gave me was not correct. This was not it! This first set of caps were made by using photos of my natural pre capped teeth when they were natural and much prettier than these caps. It was a total unprofessional guessing game. Also, due to the decision not to make a duplicate of the pre op mold and additionally, Dr. Testa did not make a duplicate mold of the first set of caps either, which was quite a surprise, and totally irresponsible and unprofessional again, as all cosmetic dentists routinely keep backup copies of pre op original molds in case a mold is lost. Due to this irresponsible action, it took 4 years and over 60 appointments to finally end up with caps that were also placed crooked again in my mouth for the second time and I was given too much Nitrous gas and passed out during this last visit on August 29, 2014. Additionally, I paid Dr. Testa $900 to have the owner of her dental laboratory, who was supposed to be making resin temporary molds by hand for two years. According to Dr. Testa this resin material looks a lot more natural, so for two years we received numerous molds that went from bad to worse. Eventually the owner of Dr. Testa's dental laboratory admitted two years later to her that he never made any of the hand made temporaries by hand and instead his assistant technician was making these poor quality temporaries which never ever resembled any mold ever submitted to be created by Dr. Testa's dental lab. The owner of Dr. Testa's dental lab neglected to tell me that he never ever worked with resin and never admitted during any meeting, phone call or in any email trail that he did not know how to use resin until 2 years later he admitted and disclosed the truth to Dr. Testa and this was after numerous painful dental appointments, but he never admitted the truth to me. This was the worst experience ever. I would never ever recommend this dental office to anyone. These are the ugliest caps and the most unnatural bite compared to my natural teeth and bite and it was all avoidable if Dr. Testa did her job and made duplicate molds. Again, It's totally unheard of for any cosmetic dentist not to make duplicate molds of a patients pre op mold prior to cosmetic dental work, where they remove your natural teeth. This was the worst experience ever. There is no way to put a negative star or there would have been numerous negative stars. read more

Dr. Testa and her staff are nothing short of phenomenal. I've been to her for everything from the routine to some recent extensive cosmetic work. I spent enough that I compared prices in advance and she doesn't charge nearly as much as she could for the quality of her work. Scared of dental work? Opt for the gas and the noise canceling Bose headphones with your choice of a Pandora station. Pretty awesome. Will never go to another dentist. read more

Dr. Testa and her team are nothing short of amazing. I came in being very anxious and the staff spent a ton of time with my practice introduction. The hygienist spent so much time explaining every aspect of what she was doing and so patient with me. Dr. Testa then presented the findings and then really took the time to explain what everything meant. I moved to the area five years ago and faithfully made the bi-annual trek south to League City to see my dentist I'd seen since high school. I have done regular routine dental work as well as cosmetic dental work with Dr. Testa and have been pleased. What I like most about Dr. Testa is she gets down to the "root" of the problem. She asks questions and my recent cavities boils down to late night munching. Every time I come in she remembers the details and asks, have you gotten that under control? I recently went to see Dr. Testa for the first time and she does phenomenal work. I have been to other "top notch" dentists in the Houston area and they do not even come close in comparison. This is hands down THE BEST dentist I have ever been to! I knew I was in the right place when the receptionist greeted me with, "How may I brighten your smile today?" It is owned and operated by the most amazing group of women! I'm surprised Eve Ensler hasn't written a Tony award winning play about them yet. When you're in the dental chair, they cover you up with a cozy blanket, give you headphones and put on your favorite Pandora station, and put moisturizer on your lips so they don't get chapped!
