Had my cleaning and xrays, was told I need 2 caps and 6 fillings. mind you I had just had my teeth cleaned and xrays/ check up 6 months ago. Thought is was excessive so went to 2 different dentists. Absolutely recommend River Oak for your dental needs! Let me tell you I was beyond over due for an appointment, I was embarrassed and nervous until I read some reviews myself. It was just my exam and initial cleaning but Tiffany did such An amazing job, I went home and cried because I had already felt better about my smile!!! The ladies at the desk were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the feet go as well, The dentist was very kind, and reassuring and made me feel at ease with my treatment plan. This was my first time here. There was less than a 5 min wait , and all the employees were so friendly. The hygienist, Tiffany was absolutely amazing! She is very kind , courteous & thorough , They have a massage chair with the paraffin wax for your hand & teeth whitening trays with your cleaning . A tv to watch as your being worked on . Have been going here for nearly a decade now, and have always LOVED the service and the staff. The facilities are top of the line, and they go out of their way to make the entire process really comfortable. The stations have their own TVs, so even if you do have a short wait, you are comfortable and have access to entertainment. The staff are top notch as well. Dr. Tourtlotte is friendly and professional, and all of the hygienists and assistants (as well as the ladies at the front desk) are great too. Highly recommended! read more

I will NEVER take my children back here! The hygienist was so upset with my son for crying bcs he was scared and saying "I cant believe your crying at your age, how pathetic!" (He is 9)Then refuses to treat him, and then throws her instruments on the floor and grabs her mask off her face and slings it across the room! A little over 2 years ago Jenna (one of the super sweet office girls) referred me here, and I am SO glad she did. I go religiously twice a year to get my teeth cleaned and they do all my dental work when needed. Tiffany is AMAZING. She always remembers everything from previous appointments. She is extremely personable, very knowledgeable, and always does an awesome job. All the girls there are really friendly and professional as well. I don't live in Oakdale and will absolutely make the drive if needed, because I love my RODS so much. read more

I'm here with my three children for their very first appointment. Being how we are new patients (or potential as I will be basing my decision on whether to come back by this experience), one would THINK the staff would be on their best behavior to make the best first impression possible. That is NOT the case. The staff here has been nothing but rude and snotty. One young girl in particular working the front desk is quite immature and unpleasant to say the least to deal with. She has quite the attitude. If I had to decide RIGHT NOW if I would come back or refer this place my answer would be a firm NO. read more

Today was our first visit. We felt really comfortable and welcomed. My 17 yr old daughtor enjoyed the tv screens and comfy chair. Most importantly she said it didn't feel like a regular dental office. She absolutely hates going to the dentist because of an earlier experience with some tooth extractions. She went in feeling very nervous. And came out feeling relaxed. She's not feeling stressed about her next visit. As her parent this means so much! All the staff was genuinely so nice! I haven't been using Yelp lately because I have a poor opinion on the authenticity of a lot of the reviews, and the way that Yelp handles them. Basically anyone can get on here and say anything they want. However, when I had googled this dentist office to get the phone number, the Yelp reviews came up, and I was surprised by the rating. I took my 3 kids here 2 days ago. They had appointments for 11:40, 12:00, and 12:20. All 3 were seen, x-rayed, teeth cleaned, and ready to go by 1:30. Everyone there was extremely nice, and I felt that the dentist was very friendly and personable. All my kids liked coming, and can't wait to come back. I felt like the office was clean, it was definitely nice, and I felt comfortable with the staff. I have already recommended to everyone. The dentist seemed to really care, and the tech who did the kids cleaning took time to explain to them how to floss & brush properly. They gave the kids timers to use for brushing, and they have been using them and flossing - brushing their teeth is exciting to them now. This is the best dentist office I have ever been to, and I will continue to bring my kids here. read more

I had my teeth worked on here and had several fillings done. Its only been a couple of years and 4 of my filling have fallen out.when i called to see if i can have them fixed they said its been over a year so my fillings r not covered and now i would be considered a new patient agian and i would have to pay all over agian. R u for real!!! Thats not right i spent alot of money the first time and and. Should not have to replace them this soon and this many of them. This place sucks. I am very dissipointed. read more

The office is very nice and clean, staff is nice and worked with my schedule. However, when my daughter, who is 5, was being worked on I didn't feel like they were concerned or sensitive to how scared she was. She eventually calmed down and they were able to work on her. I do think next time she will be scared right off the bat though. read more

Unprofessional does not even begin to describe the employees that work at this dental office. My appointment for a dental cleaning was cancelled due to an employee that did not like me when I was in high school, over 15 years ago! The office manager called to cancel my appointment and informed me that "it is in my best interest, and for my own well being that I do not get treated at this office." This statement is very concerning to me. It leads me to believe that if I would have been treated by this employee, that she may have sabotaged my teeth cleaning and done something to cause me pain, all because of a personal issue from over a decade ago. Although the office manager was very pleasant to talk with, she expressed the hatred and threats made by the employee, and refused to let me get treated at this office. Because there is only one location in Oakdale that accepts my dental insurance, I am now forced to drive out of town for dental care, simply because of an employees personal opinion. As much as this unprofessionalism angers me, I actually consider myself lucky that the employee remembered my name prior to me sitting in the chair, because after hearing the office managers statement, I think this employee would have greatly injured my mouth if I would have been allowed to go to my appointment. My advice to anybody brave enough to go to this office for dental care is to make sure that the employees either like you, or do not know you prior to you showing up for your appointment. There is no telling what kind of treatment you are going to receive if one of the employees dislikes you, even if it is because of something that happened during your childhood. read more
