My wife Belen and I got married at River Fort Ranch on 5/25/25, and we honestly couldn't have imagined a more perfect weekend. The staff were amazing and super accommodating, easy to work with, and always on top of things. Even when little surprises came up (as they always do with weddings), they handled everything with calm and care, so we never had to worry. The venue itself is so much fun. Every part of the property has its own vibe, and we loved being able to use different spots for each part of the celebration. We had our ceremony on the lawn, the reception in the barn, and the rehearsal in the courtyard, and every space felt thoughtfully designed and just gorgeous. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful everything was. The accommodations were cozy without being cramped, very comfortable, and full of little rustic touches that made us a feel a bit like time travelers. All the while we had access to your basic amenities (stocked and cleaned), a huge kitchen to feed our troupe, and several spaces to enjoy. We loved relaxing in front of the fireplaces, playing board games in the main room, and watching the cows slowly graze from one side of the field to the other. *Pro tip- bring your binoculars and go for a bird walk down by the river - you may see a bald eagle or two!* The River Fort Ranch truly gave us a weekend we'll never forget. We're so grateful to the team there and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue that's both beautiful and genuinely welcoming. read more

The River Fort Ranch is absolutely exquisite!!! The property and the views truly take your breath away. The indoor/outdoor atmosphere is inviting with an elegant and rustic feel. We stayed at the River Fort Ranch for a private event. We had a fabulous time, from start to finish. Beautiful facility, wonderful customer service, and a very luxurious, yet home-like feel. We especially loved the outdoor firepit, the 4 wheeler ride to the South Platte River, saying hello to the steers, the spacious tables for meals and games. I highly recommend you check out this venue for family, wedding, and private events. read more

What an absolutely delightful boutique bed & breakfast spot in Northern Colorado! From the minute I walked in, I felt transported to another time. Here's what I learned about the place: The expansive site began in 2001 as a private residence (for a woman who wanted a home just like Bent's Fort... and her husband gave her just that). The property was sold in 2013 and converted into a unique rustic-yet-luxurious event center that opened its doors to the public for weddings, conferences, retreats, and family outings in 2015. We visited the Fort for a private event and it was a great place for a retreat. Funny thing too because it's located right off a very busy highway but it feels very isolated once you arrive on property. Property: It's set up on a bluff so all windows facing west have a great view of the mountains. The owner Dori took us on a tour of the property which is amazing! Tons of space (not sure of exact acreage but they have enough room for people to "glamp" onsite & I hear that covered wagons will soon be available at the Fort!) There is cattle that are out to pasture with unique names such as "Cheeseburger" .. but not to worry, most of the cows are named after rock songs. You know, like "Cheeseburger in paradise" The interior fort area is so cool - an open area where you can sit by the campfire at night and grill 'smores and feel tucked in and secure. There is an interesting educational room that has different old furs & pelts - it's a cool way for kids and grownups to touch different animal furs. There is a large barn that's great for events which also sport my faaavortie thing: Market Lights! Rooms: I stayed in the Bridal Suite which was an absolute delight! VERY room, comfy king bed and a large clawfoot tub (which also has one of those handy little tub trays for books, wine glass, etc) I put it to good use. ;) The other rooms in the main house were also great. The upper rooms had access to the huge upper deck that has an amazing view. - There are also bunk rooms (perfect for kids) as well as lower level bedrooms in the outer area (other side of open space) that were nice. They did not have private bathrooms but the public bathrooms were close by & nice. Common Areas: HUGE kitchen they still seemed super homey & nice. Like a kitchen for one of those families that has like 16 kids. The dining area & separate sitting areas all face the gorgeous grounds Parking: Tons of parking - not to worry! I was so relaxed that I didn't even have time to ask if they have Wifi but I"m sure they do. Staff: Owner Dori DeJong is truly a delight & she's put together a fabulous place that feels historic but has all the upgraded comforts. read more

Set along the Platte River, with views of the distant Rockies, this event center has the potential to build lifetime memories. They have a variety of options and possibilities that are tailored to meet your specific event needs. The key to success is clearly stating what your expectations are. This isn't a guest house or a hotel or a restaurant bar, but they can give you the best of all of those if you work it out ahead of time. Make sure all of the rules are also well communicated to your guests to avoid confusion, and make sure your guests know how and to who to communicate with any issues. The staff will bend over backwards accommodate you as long as you show them you will respect the property and their investment. read more

Attended a wonderful retirement party this weekend at the Fort. Amazing place,food,service,views. I highly recommend this for family gatherings-work meetings or any large group function. PS- they have some cool YURTS by the river if you want a more out-doors adventure read more

I recently returned from an event held at the The Fort. It was easy to find, plenty of parking and from the get go so welcoming. Dori took us on a tour of the property where we met the longhorns and walked along the river. Not knowing what to expect, I was game for anything. But I do love my creature comforts. The bed and pillows in my room were to die for. I was thrilled at how comfy and spotlessly clean. My bathroom was next door. It was shared but since the place is small so it was basically to myself. It had rustic, barn style doors with a big shower and toilet in the same space. My only wish was for a robe so I could easily go to and fro. The kitchen facility is gorgeous and the staff incredibly friendly. We spent all down time out by the fire pit and witnessed one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever scene. The new covered wagon arrived when I was there so a group of boys had fun sleeping out in it. This place covers the gambit. Upscale suites to bunk rooms. They've done a great job of keeping it authentic and vintage. It felt safe and away from the world. read more

We had a great time tubing down the river. The employees provided safety instructions for our large group, ages 5-75 years old. Then we had a casual dinner on the patio at Hanks. Our waitress did an amazing job accommodating us. Due to weather we had to move inside and enjoyed the big screen tv's. Great location for families! read more

I was working with 4 other non-profit agencies to hold our annual event at Platte River Fort Resort and Event Center. First they never would put things in writing, we were told we would get the non-profit rate, then when we were billed they would not honor the rate. During our walk through just weeks before the event I asked about how the food would be set up. The reply was "oh we don't have a caterer anymore". When were they going to tell us this? We had a menu chosen, a big part of our event was the breakfast. Our finance dept requested a W-9 from Platte River Fort Resort, and we received 2 with different names and information. What was more upsetting was when I called them to question which one I should use, they didn't know who the names on the w-9 were. Needless to say our finance dept did not send a check. As COVID hit we backed out and I am thinking it was for the best, too much confusion and I never felt they were honest with our organization committee. We will not work with them in the future. read more

What a charming and special place! My husband and I rented one of the yurts along the Platte River. It was cozy and well appointed. It felt like we were far away from home, but with all the comforts of a nice bed. All the staff we interacted with were genuine, warm and efficient. I thought it was a very special and unique experience and would highly recommend the Platte River Fort! read more

This year was our second year (in a row-that is how great this venue is!) celebrating our company's annual Christmas party. The property and it's uniqueness are beyond belief. I especially was fond of the covered wagon hotel room. Yes-you can actually stay in a covered wagon. The rest of the facility is just as amazing. You will be awed by that alone. However, the warmth, knowledge and caring of the staff is what makes this place even more unbelievable. Do not hesitate to book...anything...at the Platte River Fort.
