Great rafting experience with RiverDance. Dropped in at Hoggs and took out at Almeda. We were their first customers of the 2022 season and the Rogue was running at 3,000 (cubic feet per second?). River was very fast and enjoyable, took about 4.5 hours. The new owners recently bought the business from someone else, and they are eager to please all their new customers. Would 100% come back and ride again! Raft rentals are much better priced than anyone else in the area. The owners know the area very very well and were welcoming. We actually accidentally went a few miles down our pickup point and got a little lost. They stayed out and hunted us down to make sure we got back safe. Overall amazing customer service! Saturday was our first time using River Dance and they were great! I've used other companies for both this section of the rogue and Shady Cove. All staff were super nice, very helpful and their rates are great. They fit us in last minute and all equipment was well maintained and in great shape(minus one seatbelt in the van). We even got a compliment on the raft while out on the river! They got us out there on the river at our expected time and our return shuttle was quick at picking us up. I am already planning two more trips with friends & family. I would definitely recommend River Dance and I will be using them for years to come. Nothing but good things to say... but remember the river can be dangerous, be safe and make sure you're prepared. Also if you pack it in, PACK IT OUT! Keep our rivers clean :) read more

After have tried different locations in this area I have found that this particular rental is the best in the area. It may be a small outfit but they have great equipment and fricken water guns! A water cooler and a dry bag for each kayak or catamaran I find it a better deal. They also seem more organized then other locations. They made sure the children on our trip we're safe by checking that the flotation device fit properly. I definitely will be coming back and spreading word of mouth about this great place. read more

Since it was our first time rafting in Merlin they recommended we start at Robertson bridge so we could get used to the cataraft. Our raft had a cooler, and also provided a water canon. They also asked if we needed a dry bag. You're able to create your own trip. Decide where you want to start and get out of the river. Cost of raft is for all day. We recommend River Dance. read more

Went with friends (13) last year (2019) and they forgot an oar and life jacket so we had to wait. Then it took them almost 2 hours to pick us up at the end of the float. They apologized and said it wouldn't happen again so we used them this year (2020), big mistake... We were in communication with them several times in the days leading up to the float. Each time they kept changing what we were getting and the time. Went from 13 singles to 7 with a 6 person raft. They wouldn't take a credit card and wanted cash (almost $1000...) and our pick up time was at 11:30am (normally 10am). Our party was all there by 11:20, unloaded at the boat ramp. We waited for almost an hour and a half before we saw one of their vans show up (name of the company scraped off to the metal on the van) only to have them tell us they already dropped of our rafts an hour ago... What?!? We had been there longer than that and how would a group of 13 people be randomly waiting with almost $1k in cash, sign waivers and take off without us seeing it? Kid flipped out and said "fuck this, I'm out'a here" and stormed out to another van and took off leaving the other employee alone. We had to make the best of the day and found a sandy spot on the river to hangout. AVOID THIS OUTFIT AT ALL COST!! We're definitely going with someone else next year... read more

Utterly terrible experience with these guys. They screwed up our reservation, promised to fix it, and them left us quite literally high and dry at the top of the river, huddled under the one shade tree for over an hour in a 100+ day. Our boats never showed up. We finally spotted a River Dance van an hour after our reservation time and when we asked about our rafts, the driver (who looked like a text book methhead) yelled at us that our boats were delivered an hour ago (we were there over an hour so we know that is not true), then he basically told us to go fuck ourselves and stormed off. We waited a bit to talk to the manager, but like our boats, the manager never showed. I've never experienced worse service. This "outfit" is a joke and I would not feel safe being shuttled around by any of the dudes they had driving. I'll be surprised if they stay in business another season. Clearly, they don't give a damn about their customers. read more

Have used River Dance for over 20 years, but since owner Bob passed away the business is HORRID. Broken equipment, shortage of boats, outrageous prices, RUDE!! Supposed to deliver boats at 8 am, finally arrived at noon. Best advice, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more

Our family have rented from River Dance every summer for the last 5 years and have always had a good experience. They're not a big outfit like Orange Torpedos, which is why we use them. As far as the other reviews go, sorry to hear that your experience wasn't as great as ours always is. Placing blame on the rental company for not giving you instruction on how to manuvere through rapids is ridiculous. What next? The car rental company is responsible for telling you how to drive to your destination. Geez!! read more

Wow what an amazing company. They do everything for you. You get so much for one price. All equipment is included in the price, Rafts, life jacket, dry bags, water cannon's, trip permits, and ice chest too. Shuttle service is awesome. We park at there lot they take us to and us up when ee are done. They even make a last minute store stop if we forgot anything. We rented a river raft boat for 5 adults to go rafting on the Rogue River. We honestly had a wonderful time, up until the end, where we hit serious rapids. For us it was serious rapids. If we could do it over, we would have taken a tour with a professional guide. This river will take your life if you are not totally prepared. This is no exaggeration. At the end, our boat got stuck on a rock, we were there for 10 minutes, trying to figure out how to get our boat unstuck. The rapids are crazy fast, and very scary. I was with my 2 adult daughters, my sister, and her husband. We tried to call 911, but there is no cell coverage on the Rogue. We finally got our raft unstuck by moving our weight around and bouncing up and down. My brother in law yelling at us constantly, to STAY IN THE BOAT! If you jump out, thinking you will swim over to shore, you are done! The rapids will suck you in. After our boat was free, we thought we were okay, until the next set we hit. My sister and I were thrown overboard. My sister was pulled in immediately, but I got stuck under the boat. It took the four of them to pull me back in. I am giving this company 3 stars, because I believe they need to give people extreme serious precautions as to what they will face. They need to sit people down, and tell them they will die if they are not totally prepared. Yes, we said 3 of us had rafted before, and that was true, but we had no idea as to how bad it would be. None of us are professional rafters, so we thought we would have a fun, lazy day down the river. They did tell us to stay clear to the right of the rock at the Galice Shoot, but there were so many rocks, we couldn't figure it out. They were all very nice, especially the guy that drove us to our drop off and picked us up. Being nice doesn't cut it though when lives are at stake. I looked on Yelp the morning we were preparing to go, and they had NO Yelp reviews. I don't know why I am the first, or have there been reviews removed? I don't know. If I would have read a review like mine, we would have never gone. We learned that an average of 5 people die on the Rogue River every year. The only reason I am writing this, is to save someone the trauma of what we experienced, or worse. I would think the company would want the same thing... read more

Very rude on the phone interrupted me to tell me they didn't make a raft big enough for 4 adults an 3 kids like we do every year through orange torpedo, he wanted to treat me like a little child. didn't want to even hear me out to get to the other rentals. Guess it's back to "orange torpedo trips" where the treat customers with respect. read more
