The Rogue is a magnificent river with never a dull moment. One minute you are hanging on for dear life, and the next minute you are reeling in steel-heads and rainbows. Garrett Helfrich was all that I hoped for in a guide. His ability on the oars made it all exciting, yet safe. My wife settled down after the first few rapids after she saw just how skilled he was. She said that she felt safe with him on on the oars. The entire adventure was a blast. The bite was a little slow, but we worked hard at the right spots and landed many fish. We passed Noah's having lunch as we entered the Canyon. After a minor pin and a raft getting dump-trucked we still felt comfortable. Just before the 3rd rapid from the end, the Noah's guides offered me Beta on the final 3 rapids. While the first 2 could be considered read-and-run, their Beta saved me on the last rapid. My point: It's not always just about the river and making a 'check-mark' on your adventure list. It's about the adventure and the quality of those (the guides) who provide that SAFE adventure. I've been on a Rogue trip with Noah's and periodically call them for advice on the rivers they run. They are always congenial and give honest feedback. Turned out I knew one of the guides (they all look familiar) so that was a bonus seeing a friend on the river. Please make the effort to run K'íka·c'é·ki Canyon

This was an outstanding trip with RRJ providing all quality camping gear ( they set up the tents!), great freshly cooked 3 meals a day & snacks at riverside, gear rafts transported it all daily + a kayak & paddler here & there .
