BanBury Golf Course is hands down my go-to spot for golf in the Treasure Valley. It is not only…read morebeautifully designed but also rich in history. BanBury, a public course in Eagle thoughtfully designed by John Harbottle III, has consistently ranked among Idaho's top 10 public courses by Golf Digest for nearly two decades. The course flows gently along the South Channel of the Boise River and offers both challenge and charm. It was the first in our area to host a USGA championship, the U.S. Junior Girls. They are also adding a new simulator building next to Harvey's, their on-site restaurant. The space will feature three TrackMan simulators, full club-fitting services, and direct access to the bar, which sounds perfect for practice or a post-round hangout. My favorite part is sharing this place with friends. The golf course is pristine and welcoming. The staff is phenomenal, especially their PGA pro Drew, who gave me two lessons and runs fantastic group clinics. I always leave feeling more confident on the green. The restaurant side is just as amazing. The team, especially Law, knows our order so well that last visit he brought us our Arnold Palmers before we even asked. We always round out our day with lunch. Chicken tacos, Caesar salad, Reubens, burgers -- the food never disappoints. For evening golf or dinner, their prime rib and salmon are standout dishes. BanBury offers a flawless blend of great golf, excellent instruction, warm hospitality, and delicious food. I highly recommend it whether you are there to play, to eat, or just to spend time with friends.

Played Banbury this weekend on a visit to town. One of the premier courses in Boise for decades,…read morethe decline of this course has been rapid since the departure of the original management team and greens keeper. Once the best public course within hundreds of miles, is now a shell of itself. What used to be a destination for me any time I was around, has become a once a year stop at the most. It's upsetting, especially considering how high the demand is in Boise for an elite public golf course. This weekends round was made especially miserable because of two factors the course absolutely had control over. The first being that myself (single digit handicap) and my partner (mid-handicap) were paired with two young men in their 20's, one of which had never played before. Needless to say, he was miserable, as were we. I had to buy drinks for the group behind us to apologize. Most egregious however, was that the course decided to let a group of FIVE people out in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, to film some Tik-Tok Golf Influencer "content". Our front nine, playing behind these folks took over 2 hours and 45 minutes, but then after the turn Hole 10 took 31 minutes BY ITSELF! By hole 14 we had decided to go ahead of them, and then were verbally accosted by the group as if wed done something inappropriate. And all of this cost me well over $100. The course conditions were mediocre and torn up, and it was crowded and slow even without the influencers. Highlights included awesome service from the folks in the restaurant and bar, and the young lady driving the beverage cart. All of which were affable, friendly, and made sure to take great care of us. Also the gentlemen in the Pro Shop were very professional, and understood my frustrations when I went to speak with them post round. I won't be back to Banbury this year. Might not be back again unless there's major changes to the operations and standards at Banbury Golf Club. Here's hoping that happens, because it sucks to see a world class golf course end up like that.

As we got ready to tee off, he started questioning our handicap and said we should be teeing off in different tees. He then walked behind one of my other playing partners and glared at him as he started to take his shot off the tee. Claimed we were holding up the course though there was nobody in view the entire hole behind at that time. When I told him I didn't appreciate him standing behind us and calling us out, he claimed he could do whatever the hell he wanted as he was the starter here and if I didn't like it and wanted to argue he was gonna go grab the pro and have me thrown off the course. I told him I wasn't here to argue and I'm just gonna head home. And then he proceeded to tell us if he had his way we wouldn't be teeing off any of the tee boxes today. I told him I was sorry that he was having a bad day. He then started cursing and muttering and so I turned to walk away. He then jumped in his cart and then took off back to the pro shop. Paid for 18 holes, but left after 12. I should have read other reviews. Will never go back to this golf course. Gets 2 stars because the man in the pro shop was nice and welcoming and the course, though unimaginative was in good shape.

I reached out to corporate on Monday and received a reply that someone from the Boise/Meridian…read morelocation would be contacting me within 24-48 hours. That has not happened, so I am posting here. Monday, July 13. We have always loved our Top Golf experiences. Tonight was sadly a disappointment. In all our other visits we have never been given a time limit. We were always able to keep playing games, ordering food and drinks until we were done. Tonight we had a work celebration party of 7 people. We hadn't finished our food - not even the appetizers, and were only on round 3 of our first golf game and suddenly our waitress informed us she needed to start closing out our tab because we only had 10 minutes left of our time. We had no idea we were on a time limit. There were many tables open next to us. I hadn't even gotten to order the cocktail I was planning to have at the end of the meal yet. Only got through half of the 4th round of our game, so no final scores. It was such an abrupt finish to what should have been an amazing night. We still had most of our food uneaten, and getting rushed out we were scrambling to box up the food and close tabs. My food ended up accidentally getting knocked onto the floor in all of the mad rush, so half of the Caesar salad wrap and all the tater tots just flew all over the floor. No finished game, no finished foods, it was a really disappointing night. We looked into trying to get another reservation to move to another table, but we were told there was a 30 minute wait to get into another table. If there hadn't been a 30 minute wait everyone would've stayed and you would've made so much more money from our table playing another game, ordering cocktails, etc. now you just have unhappy customers who are rushed out the door feeling unappreciated. I really feel we should be refunded for our experience. I did speak to the staff at the location before we left, and their only response was "sorry, it's summer and it's busy" as they nodded and listened to me vent. No other explanation as to why the time limit had been implemented, or why we were not made aware that there would be a time limit when we made our reservation for 5:45. We were given an hour - an HOUR for a group of 7 people to eat, have drinks and play a game of golf? This was a team building event - there's no way we could have even had time to talk and get all of that done in an hour. If we had been aware that our dinner reservation was set to a timer, we would have chosen a different location for our event. I am hopeful you can find a resolution for this situation. We do not live in Boise, just here until Thursday for a conference. We do not have a Topgolf in our home town, so we are only able to patronize your business when we are traveling. Please make this right. We have always enjoyed our experiences in the past. This was definitely a huge disappointment. Amy Stout Sent from my iPhone

With the time frame we were given, my father in law suggested us to play the wee 9 at Ridgecrest. It allowed us to get some holes in with enough time for my brother in law to head to the airport after. We were checking in at the desk for our tee time. The young man that was helping us wasn't the kindest. He treated us like we were bothering him for doing his job. Sucks to have someone like that start your day that way. We got our game paid for and waited for left handed clubs that we had requested. He got them for us, got our cart keys and headed to the green. Our tee time was at 9:20 so we were some of the first groups to head out. I did have to head back to get a couple clubs that were missing in the left handed set we requested. It was kind of frustrating that the clubs weren't ready. But we dealt with it and moved along with the game. The short course was fun. I just watched and enjoyed being with the boys. It was a pretty fast course so we got done in a timely manner. We turned in our carts and clubs in. That was my first time at Ridgecrest and it was fun. The course was great. Everything was pretty and serene. It was fun driving the cart on the course. It was overall a beast experience. It could have been flawless if the gentleman that helped us was nicer.

You just order at the counter, and the menu is limited, but it's perfect for a quick bite or a drink before or after your round. Overall, I love playing here and would highly recommend Ridgecrest to any golfer looking for a well-kept, welcoming course in the area.
