Wood is used extensively in the showroom.

The River Bend Winery & Distillery is a short ride from Chippewa Falls, or if you're traveling on Wis 29, an even shorter ride from exit 72. It's worth the short drive. The winery has received several awards already over their short life span. (They opened in 2009.) We did not visit the distillery on this visit, we're saving that one for next time. There is a huge parking area and on entering the showroom, you are greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes extensive use of wood. There is a cash wrap and separate tasting bar, along with rack after rack of wine bottles, displays of branded t-shirts, fixtures loaded with wine accessories and a cooler with beverages for the under aged and cheese to go with that wine you liked so much. There's lots of eye candy here for wine connoisseurs! Wine tasting is divided into three flights of dry, semi-sweet or sweet wines and each flight has four offerings. I opted for the dry flight (sorry, you only get free tastings via one flight) with two white and two red. I found the Chardonnay to be flavorful and light. A Riesling was fruity with a great finish and I actually preferred it to the Chardonnay. River Bend Blend is a red blend of Cabernet and Marquette wines. It is a great, dry red that I think would be excellent with beef and the Summer Blend was a dry red that actually tastes better slightly chilled. I'm not a fan of chilling red wine, but this one brings out a fruity aftertaste by chilling and I could see it served with pork, perhaps even barbecued chicken. Really? Red with poultry? In this case, yes. After making a selection from the tasting, we purchased a glass of our favorite tasting choice and went outside to enjoy the warm summer, late afternoon on the patio under a heavy pergola. The patio overlooks the vineyard and you can see cars and trucks whizzing by on Wis 29, a couple of football fields away from the winery. There is an airport nearby and an interesting sight (and sound) was no fewer than five private jets landing by flying their approach over the vineyard and disappearing behind a tree line. The crowd was small the Friday we were there (crowd? What crowd?) but the place apparently fills up pretty well on weekends. They recommend you bring a blanket in case you have to sit on the lawn. There's plenty of lawn, too. I wish the winery wasn't quite so far away from home, I would come visit much more often. The good news is that River Bend wines are available in the Milwaukee area at Discount Liquor or you can order by the case (or half case) online. (There's a case discount, too!) I'll be checking out Discount Liquor to replenish the supply I purchased here today.

Welcoming ambience , nice people and quick wine tasting. I loved their Riesling and red blend . It's a casual and calming patio area to savor their $5 glass of good wine.

I came up to visit the area with my mom as my family lives nearby. My Aunt highly recommended this place. The grounds are very nice, the winery is very nice too. We stopped in late afternoon on a Saturday and the place was pretty crowded. We were able to sample a "flight". What they mean by a free flight is, a sip of each wine, not exactly a flight. I tend to think of a small glass, this was just a sample of each but just enough to decide if you'd like the wine, or not. The wines I tried were all very good. I recommend checking this place out if you're visiting wineries or just want to chill out with a glass or bottle.

This was our favorite of the sweet wines

Came here with friends in the fall and it was very nice - clean and kind - high chairs and pretty view. Wine of course was delicious! Would recommend for a fun outing with friends.

Have had Villa Bellezza on my list of places to visit for a while and found a fun reason to visit…read morewith friends recently. The property transports you from western Wisconsin to Europe. For a little moment, you might forget you're in the midwest. There are options to sit inside or outside, but if it's a nice day, sit outside, it is so gorgeous. If you go on the weekend, there is a brunch available in addition to the regular menu. The brunch was actually really good. If a couple people want to have the same glass of wine, just get a bottle, it will be cheaper. There is a very nice selection of wine to take home as well. Highly recommend!

Our first time at Villa Belleza for a wine tasting experience…read more We were only there for a wine tasting so we did not have an opportunity to have lunch. My first impression of the property is that it is beautiful. They did a nice job with the property. The outdoor vineyard and wedding area is also quite lovely. The property was clean, restrooms clean, nice outdoor patio for dining. For the wine tasting, our hostess did a nice job explaining the various wines as we moved through the tasting menu. I didn't catch her name but she was very nice. We also briefly met Matt who was also very friendly. I felt the majority of wines were more on the sweet side, however, there were definitely several that leaned dry. I would t necessarily call any of them "full bodied". For Wisconsin wines, these were actually pretty good. The pours were generous compared to pours you may receive when tasting in Napa, Sonoma or Paso Robles so well worth the price. I would recommend stopping in and visiting Villa Belleza!

What a beautiful venue to celebrate a wedding. Even with the weather being a little chilly, windy…read moreand rainy...everyone was comfortable and happy.

This venue was beautiful! A fairytale! Don't get me wrong about that. Absolutely lovely location,…read morebut I would probably not utilize it in the future. I was in a friend's wedding and witnessed many nit picky rules when she worked with this venue. The earliest they will allow you to arrive is 10am (you pay extra for that, otherwise it's not until 1pm), no set up or leaving items for set up the night before. This caused major crunch time for hair and makeup to happen in time for photos etc, before the ceremony. They say that they use the morning to maintain the property, however there is a lot of overgrowth going down the steps to the ceremony site and one set of stairs is an accident waiting to happen - bricks and stones very uneven, broken and unsafe for heels or even flat shoes. Next rule that made things a bit stressful was we had to have everything out of the bridal suite within 15 minutes once the ceremony was done AND they actually changed that the day of and said it had to be out before the ceremony. (What are you doing with this entire building that we have to get out of it so quickly? shouldn't a bridal suite be a place to go get freshened up or get away from others if need be, to have some down time.) And the owner lives right on the site just a few feet away. Since they changed this the day of we rushed to get things out before the ceremony and they ended up kicking out our makeup girl very rudely during the ceremony. When speaking with the owner she seemed nice enough the day of, but prior to, was very rude when the bride asked for suggestions relating to anything she may have experience seeing people do at weddings for the ceremony setup. Lastly, she was very quick at getting tear down started. We didn't need to be out until midnight and the wedding party did most of the tear down around 10:30 and folded up most of chairs (venues responsibility) ourselves. The owner grabbed items from the bridal shack (what you get for the rest of the night when kicked out of the suite) even though we were well on our way to grab them and still had a half an hour left. You can tell that the property doesn't have as much love put into it anymore like it did years ago when the winery was open. I hope someone that's truly passionate about putting on weddings and events takes over this place in the future.
