Since I only had about two months to plan a wedding, I needed to find a great venue and caterer, and fast! We wanted something small but nice, and easy on our budget. Most of the venues I checked with had their own caterers, so Ritz Catering was no different. They have several sites to choose from or you can find your own. I originally inquired about a bigger venue located in Glendora. My mom and I fell in love with the location, however it was way too big for the size of our event. Jarrett recommended one of their smaller venues which was perfect for our wedding. My mom, step dad, and I randomly went to the smaller venue without an appointment and happened to catch Jarrett's dad over there. He was kind enough to show us around and even chatted up a storm with my step dad. The San Dimas Lodge was the perfect venue and Ritz Catering's rates were very reasonable. They were available for our big day so we decided to book them. For the day of wedding, we were able to drop off centerpieces and other decorations early. The bridal room is comfortably nice and big. The staff was on-hand to set up and assist with any last minute details. We had both the ceremony and reception there so it was very convenient for all. Like any bride, I was a little worried about the final out come, but everything turned out beautifully. Everyone loved the food! We went with the Hawaiian food menu based on Jarrett's recommendations. Slow-cooked Kahlua pork, teriyaki chicken, coconut fried rice, steamed veggies for dinner; and meatballs and fresh veggies for the appetizers. They offer to make your cake as well, but we already had someone doing that so we had to pass. Overall, my husband and I were very happy with how everything turned out. A little late but I had my wedding here 2012 and loved it. From the very beginning they helped me out with everything. I Choose the food and the venue all in one day. We loved that we had the choice to pay little by little as long as everything was paid 2 weeks before the event. I had a few problems getting a hold of them when wanting to make an appointment to go an make a payment. Even after leaving voicemails I'd never get a call back. What always worked was sending him a Txt message, that always got a quick responds. But all in all it was great. We got the Italian dinner and everyone loved it, it was great. We were allowed to bring our own drinks which was great. We brought them in the day of the event and our centerpieces we allowed to be deliver at anytime that day as well. We did have the choice of bringing them the night before, but because there was an event the night before we couldn't do it. The caterers and bartender were so nice! I ordered a photo booth for my event and they helped me organize a place to set him up with no problem. The venue was nice too although it was really hot inside a few times you had a lot of people sitting outside trying to catch some fresh air. A week after the wedding I received a check with my deposit back in the mail which I thought was really quick. Ritz Catering is Fantastic!! Our family has used Ritz for 3 events now starting with our wedding, then for both of our daughters 15th birthday parties. They make planning a major event seem like an easy task. We have used the Glendora Lodge 2 times and the Ontario Lodge once. Both locations were great and perfect for our crowd. All of our guests gave numerous compliments on the food and especially how beautiful and delicious the cake was. The entire staff were very nice and helpful. Our bartender was the best we could have asked for. We made sure to ask that we could bring our own alcohol and that it was in our contract and we had no hassles at all. We used Ritz Catering for our Mercy Meal after our funeral. Mind you we put this together in less than 3 days because we didn't want to linger placing our loved one to rest. We found ourselves in a pickle for a luncheon venue and a friend put us in contact with Ritz Catering. As soon as we spoke with Jarrett and gave him our budget and ideas he was very accommodating. He had no problem in putting this together for us in less than 3 days. We loved our venue and the food was extremely delicious! My wife and I had Ritz cater our wedding. We had a very small budget to get everything that we needed and Ritz did a fantastic job finding the best deals in order to stay within our budget. The night of the wedding the Ritz staff worked tirelessly to take care of not only our guests but my wife and I as well. We worked without a wedding planner and I remember several times while running around making sure everything was being handled properly, the Ritz staff stopped me and assured me they would handle things. I give this a one star because the professionalism and customer service of this family owned company has been a disaster. My now husband and I hired Ritz Catering for our wedding. We had the tasting almost a year prior to the wedding date. We decided on a catering package that included serving of the wedding party, providing sparkling cider for the toast, and cutting the cake we would provide. We paid the deposit and everything was good to go, except we kept trying to contact the company to make payments on our bill throughout the year and never could get a response from anyone. Finally the representative contacted us back to let us know that he no longer worked for Ritz Catering and to contact his brother who would handle everything. I called and emailed never received a response until a month before the wedding. Two weeks prior to the wedding we were supposed to finish payment and confirm all details. I had to continuously call to get a response. A week before the wedding finally received a call back and we finalized all details. I was told I was going to get an email with all details confirmed, never received an email. Day of the wedding Ritz Catering did show up on time the food was delicious but the wedding package that we paid for was not provided. The catering staff only served myself and the groom and released the rest of the guest to get their food (it was buffet style). We had to find the supervisor of the catering staff to let her know the entire wedding party was supposed to be served. She then tells us the manager did not instruct her to do so and that is not the package we paid for. Of course I don't have the contract at the wedding but after a call to the manager the staff services the wedding party. The second issue was the toast. They didn't provide the sparkling apple cider as promised. The supervisor again called the manager and he said he didn't remember confirming that with me after we discussed everything the week before the wedding. We had to toast with whatever was in the guest glass. The third issue was they were supposed to cut the cake and serve the guest. They did do that however they cut our entire cake including the top in really thin slices. We had an additional sheet cake for the guest which the supervisor was aware of. The purpose of the sheet cake was so we could save our top for our anniversary (which is a common tradition). The sheet cake was never touch, at the end of the wedding we had a whole cake. I emailed the manager 2 weeks after the wedding to resolve the issue. He did respond saying he would do some investigating and get back to me. He never did get back to me or resolve the issue. We have a signed contract with package details and those details were not provided. This did cause a bit of stress during the wedding and special moments like the toast and saving the top of the cake not so memorable. I am no longer getting a response for anyone from Ritz Catering. I hate giving negative reviews especially for family owned business. I would not recommend this catering company for any special event. Professionalism and customer service is key in a successful business. read more

This catering company does not even deserve a 1 star. They have the worst management and service I've ever experienced. The owner Jarrett does not pick up his phone nor does he return calls until days later. He lies and makes excuses for all the bad services we got from them. They show up late and they don't serve enough food for the amount of guests that you paid for, on top of many other disappointing things. We were very disappointed in this caterer company. And after the wedding when we addressed these issues to Jarrett he made excuses for everything and ignored our concerns. Our 20th anniversary party with Ritz Catering was a real homerun. My husband and I were looking for a decent price on catering without compromising on quality. Ritz was able to deliver that. The food was excellent. It was restaurant quality. We ordered the roast beef and chicken and then added on an Italian soda bar. Our guests especially loved getting to choose their own flavors. The servers were professional. Everything was set up beautifully and then the dishes were cleared quickly. We especially appreciated Jarret and the time he took with us. At times, I felt bad for all of my phone calls to him with all my questions, but he always insisted that he was "here to help". And on the night of the event, he even signed Ritz Catering in our guest book. When our kids get married in the coming years, we won't call any other caterer. My husband and I used Ritz Catering for our wedding last year. Our guest were pleased with the appetizers and dinner, especially the "MEATBALLS". I was unable to taste due to photos etc, but it's still the talk to our get togethers. The food was great, cake was yummy, and service was exceptional. The set up was smooth, everything looked beautiful. The clean up was completed fast, quick, and in a hurry. Boy do they move fast, no joke!!!! We've had Ritz Catering cater two weddings. They were great! The food was delicious and plentiful. We planned for 150 people, but about 175 showed up and we still had more than enough! I had really high expectations for this place but I knew things would go wrong as soon as I meet the caterer. I should have trusted my instincts and just walked away but you live and learn. First thing to go wrong was when the catering manager Jarrett told me via email to meet him at a facility to see everything then failed to show up. After trying to get a hold of the guy for over 15 minutes this guy argued with me on the phone about getting my facts incorrect and that I misunderstood what he had said even though I had the email right in front of me. We had to wait for over an hour for the guy to finally show up while waiting in the middle of the summer in a scorching hot car. Fast forward 6 months and we hadn't heard a word from these people at all. We had to call several times to get a hold of someone to ask them if they were going to be available for us to give them the rest of the deposit owed. (This is the first time I've ever had to hunt down a caterer to PAY them! Usually it's the other way around!) They told us they would contact us in 2 week to setup an appointment and go over final details. 2 weeks comes and goes with no word. No emails returned, no phone calls returned. Finally 4 days before my event, I finally am able to get a hold of Jarrett to get all the final details. At that point, I had to take time off of work so I could meet this guy since he only had time during the week and time was running out. Worse part is that instead of Jarrett apologizing for the inconvenience, he blames his new assistant for the mix up and literally called her an idiot! From there things got worse! Jarrett specifically told us that we could have a cash bar and bring whatever additional alcohol we wanted to bring in and the bartender would serve it for us. When we showed up the day before the event with all the alcohol, Jarrett denied ever telling us that we could do this! He absolutely refused to let us bring in any of the alcohol we had purchased so spent all kinds of money on drinks for our guests but weren't able to bring it inside the facility. When tried to talk to Jarrett about the situation he pretty much called us liars and that we made the whole story up. The rest of the staff who was catering that evening had a completely different story and told us that it was fine to bring our own alcohol in but just have the bartender serve it. So we're not sure who to believe on that one. All in all, I would never have another banquet at any of their facilities ever again. The prices are reasonable but I guess you get what you paid for. The caterer is good at getting your money but not really good on delivering. The management staff was extremely unprofessional and seriously has an attitude problem. And as if to prove my point, I was told that 2 weeks after my event that I would get my deposit back in the mail. Here we are almost a month later and still no check! If you deal with these people, make sure you get everything in writing because they will change their story on you at every chance they get! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME !!! I called Ritz catering to no avail , so I left a message. A day later I called and spoke to Jarrett. I explained to him what I was looking for and I had 125 guest that will be attending. Jarrett told me he could find the perfect location and that he will send me a proposal to my email. Two days later and I still did not receive and email. So, I gave it another shot. I called Jarrett, again no answer left a message. The next day I got a call back. Needless, to say Jarrett forgot About me and who he was talking to. He stated, that he gave the proposal to his assistant and she must of forgot to send it. ( yeah Right) he asked me what was my name again and what's your email address again. Oh yeah, that's right. ( He sounded like he was in a rush and wanted me off the phone) He stated he was going to resend the proposal and I will have it by the end of business. we'll guess what, I didn't receive anything. I told my fiancé I was not going to waste my time on Ritz Catering. If it is this hard to get a simple proposal I can only imagine the horrible experience I would go through if I would have hired these people! I found my venue elsewhere and let me tell ,you I don't regret it! Ritz you lost a customer! I hope this helps other people who are interested in hiring this lousy company! My sister went with Ritz Catering for her wedding in 2009. People still talk about those stuffed mushrooms! Four years later, Isaac and I didn't even have to think about it. We went with Ritz. We were married July 20, 2013. We wanted a summery/fun menu and we went with a Hawaiian style buffet. That coconut rice was amazing! The food is amazing, but what I really love about Ritz is their customer service. They were very helpful and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. Isaac and I wanted very much for each of our guests to feel loved on our wedding day, so we wanted to have the wedding party serve our guests. Jarrett loved the idea and allowed us to serve our guests. It was special and memorable for us and for each of our loved ones. When you book with Ritz, the venue is included in the package, as well as linens, chairs, and everything else you need, which takes a LOT of stress out of planning the reception.
