How could one possibly have anything negative to say?! This place is absolutely adorable. It's small and somewhat out of the way, but very much worth a visit. You can definitely enjoy a few hours here, especially if you have children. It seems that a lot of the activities are open on weekends only. We visited on a weekday and did not see the pony rides actively running and the Apple slingshot game was closed. We didn't mind though as we really came looking for treats! But if you do have kiddos, make sure you plan ahead. We did get to have a walk through the corn maze and of course enjoyed feeding the farm animals. But as stated, our main goal was to have us some cider and doughnuts! Major success! The shop offered some jams and other locally made products. Yes, you must get their Cider Donuts. Wow, super fresh and made right in front of you. They offer homemade fruit pies, no preservatives, and of course many varieties of apples. The apples are in wooden cartons for you to choose. A very nice display overall. Friendly staff and many out-of-staters like us. In the rear is a corn maze, adorned with huge sunflower plants. There are goats, donkeys, cows, fowl gawking near the llamas. Nice for kids and city folk. Reasonable prices. read more

You can bring home fresh apples by the bushel, grab a gallon of fresh press, unpasteurized, apple cider or get a bag of freshly made donuts all at reasonable prices. That's not all they sell here - Pies, Fresh Ground Peanut Butter, Jams & jellies, Honey, Maple Syrup, other fall produce and decorations. All local grown/made. Loved it! Very nice farm. Delicious cider donuts! We got 2 dozen. No doubt about that. Their Apple Cider was very good as well. We bought four gallons. We had a large group if you didn't notice by now but all the same. The animals were nice to look at and they have a little feeding station for them. Little pumpkin patch, corn maze, Apple sling, hay slide area, benches. Not too crowded on a Monday afternoon! But still many people come through. Lots of hand sanitizer available! Ritter's cider Mill is one of those places that is a hidden treasure that could probably be a little better known. Roba's is the big cider mill place in the area and always has huge crowds and a crazy expensive entrance fee. Ritter's has a lot of the same experiences but is free, and the donuts and the cider are infinitely better. During the fall they offer hay rides, they have pony rides and a small play area for kids, a free corn maze. And some cute animals. This is a local family owned treasure in NEPA and worth a detour for the hot cider donuts and fresh baked pies. read more

SUMMARY: We visited from Virginia and were so pleased to learn of and visit this place, but back home we were disappointed. + Great atmosphere + Excellent selection of canned/preserved fruit and veggies and pies (if you like a sour strawberry rhubarb this is the place to get it! and their apple pie is no frills/heavy spice, but very apple-forward + Wide variety of apples with descriptions of flavor and uses ~ Pricey, and all the apples are priced the same ~ Staff was just okay (could be friendlier) - But the worst: we got 2 huge gallons of cider and BOTH had leaks. One leaked as soon as our car ride back to Virginia (3 hours), and the other had a slower leak that wasn't apparent until a few days had passed in our garage fridge. Most of the contents ended up leaked out, or thrown away because we were concerned about the leak and the cider quality. read more

We also for the cider which made us oddly thirty and we bought apple coder doughnuts which we found oily. The people who work there are very nice, and it's just a relaxed atmosphere. This place is AMAZING! My father has been bringing back apple cider from here as long as I can remember. It's the best - there is no comparison. I will not drink store bought apple cider - it's disgusting. This is REAL apple cider which is opaque and delicious. When you go stock up - apple cider freezes well so we drink it all year round. There's nothing better than spending a gorgeous fall afternoon driving through the PA countryside, and stopping off at Ritter's on the way home. This family-run business presses fresh apple cider right there at the mill, and sells a wide variety of fresh local apples. After doing your shopping you can distract the kids with pony rides, a petting zoo, and a cornfield maze. I went here today with my mom - such a great place! We went early, so it was pretty dead. By the time we were leaving, people started coming. They had huge pumpkins, small pumpkins, gourds, etc. They also had a TON of apples! (Obviously) We got to watch the cider being made, which was really cool. My mom had some questions about the process and everyone was friendly. At the end we got to sample the cider........it's amazing. We bought 1.5 gallons. (Around $8 total) Donuts - we got a half dozen of the cinnamon sugar donuts. They're smaller donuts and they're so good! ($3) Apple butter - so fresh! Can't go wrong. ($3.5) Apple Salsa - different, but I can't wait to try it. ($4.4) I took away one star for the apple pie we bought. It was $11 and I just had a piece. It was definitely made with shortening, which I'm not a fan of. The apple part was great, but the dough just didn't have any taste. It was a let down, so we won't be buying pies from here again. This place is awesome!!! I went there Sunday w/ my mom & little brother, we saw the cider making and cider donuts demonstration. Btw, BEST cider and donuts I've ever had hands down, probably because everything is so fresh. The weather was beautiful but this place wasn't obnoxiously crowded like a lot of other pumpkin picking places. We also took a hay ride for $4/ pp through the woods which was pretty neat. Also had my brother go on a $5 pony ride, he loved it!! The only thing to watch out for is that the directions from here direct you to the Ritter's farmers market which sells the donuts, cider, pies, produce & other farmers market stuff which all say Ritter on them but there was a flyer @ the cider mill saying the market wasn't affiliated, so idk. But after buying some cider from the market ( a lil more expensive than the mill). When I asked about hay rides the lady gave us a flyer for the mill with the address which is 10 min away. Definitely the best apple place I've been to on the Poconos. read more

My family and I have been coming to Ritter's for years. Each year bringing more family and friends with us. Since they hear us talking about it so much everyone wants to join us. The people working here are great and I always feel my business is appreciated. The cider is outstanding. We LOVE the doughnuts and are never made to feel like an imposition for requesting the hot out of the oil batch which we eat before leaving the premises. The no sugar added pie is our absolute favorite apple pie. Not overly sweet yet delicious. The ONLY carmel apple that I eat. Because the fresh apple makes all the difference.
