I would go as far as saying this is kind of a hidden gem it's so good the burritos are delicious. Family owned and the food is authentic. Not your average burrito at all, Rito's burritos are so unique and the beef quality is so good. They also come out fresh and hot every time. Cashiers are always nice and tons of regulars are coming here for lunch on the daily. A rating! . These are very Americanized burritos...and enchilada style is the most requested but it makes the flour tortillas soggy. And they are so expensive. Hands down some of the best burritos in town. They have 3 locations and I believe the Garfield location is the original location but taste wise, this location takes the cake. Very small inside but very clean. Music is obnoxiously loud but whatever keeps them going. Some of the customers coming in were really loud with the employees but I think that was their thing when embracing each other. I'll drive out of the way everytime for this flavor. read more

Danielle is the owner and granddaughter of Rito's Mexican food on Garfield and 14th St. Which I have been going to on a regular basis since 1989 and she used to work there and learned everything from her grandmother. The food is actually even better. I highly recommend this Mexican food and I drive 30 miles from Anthem because I crave her green chili burritos, enchilada style. stopped in today (Saturday) to get a bite to eat. I ordered 1 burrito 1 burrito enchilada style and 1 shredded beef taco($5.55). Waited 20 minutes before I went up to check on my order. Girl working counter doesn't check just says it will be up soon! 3 minutes later she calls my number and when I go up to get it she tells me it's been sitting there for 10 minutes and I must have missed when they called it!! This location is the best as far as the food goes. The green chili mix burritos are great. The green chili has a nice kick to it and the beans have that home made taste. I think it's the heat of the green chili that sets this place apart from the rest of the ritos. Customer service is the only thing they are lacking. Hmmm... So far bad impressions and I haven't even gotten my food. It's hot in here, probably about 85 degrees. In Phoenix. Music blaring from the kitchen and no music in the dining room. I get it, employees are more important. Employees are who pay the bills...? As far as the food. Gross. Just...gross. If this is how your Nana cooked, you had a bad childhood. Enchiladas were not good, the sauce tasted like it was tomato based, not chiles. I sent it back and the lady was ok about it. Then I had something simple, I figured they couldn't do their beef or anything well so I didn't want to risk it. Bean and rice burrito. Well that went in the trash. So much salt. We were on our way home after visiting my sister, and my tummy was talking to me. I knew that close by was Rito's Burritos. I made a last minute decision to pull into the parking lot where Rito's sits in the middle of a strip mall along 51st Avenue, in Glendale. Rito's is not a fancy place by all means. This is strictly a take out place, and a very simple place, with a simple menu. Not the kind of place where you look at the menu, and there will be multiple choices of what there is to eat. No their menu is simple, and so simple that you should know what your tummy is yearning for. Which means, are feeling a burrito, a taco or an enchilada. Rito's has been popular for their green chili burrito, my wife's favorite. Today she and I ordered a mixed burrito. Her mixed burrito was green chili with beans. My mixed burrito was a red chili with beans. Plus I ordered a couple of tacos as well. The thing about Rito's is that it is only open only for six hours, one day a week opens a couple of hours longer. They are closed on Sunday's. I mentioned that Rito's is not fancy, strictly a takeout place but, it does have seating inside. For the most part, customers come in, order, and leave once their order is done. We did the same, ordered takeout. Sometimes in your life it should be simple. Simple enough that the food you eat is simple but, very good. This was the case with Rito's, simple but, good, and delicious. The beef is very tender. By the way, the shredded beef tacos were exceptional. The taco is very meaty and they don't shy away from filling the taco with meat. Just remember to eat their burrito on a plate. Don't try to pick it up to eat, as the juices of the meat sauce tend to run out of your burrito. It doesn't matter what time of the open hours you come here, it's busy. When we went in, there were only two people in front of us. No sooner we turned to look behind us, there were six more customers. I hope you get to experience their food. I've been eating at ritos since I was a kid. 45yrs later and I'm still eating here and always recommending them to those who lm claim places they've eaten at are authentic.
