This rite aid used to be convenient and trustworthy. I take Tamoxifen for my cancer treatments and have ordered my tamoxifen from them for the past 3 years. However, 3 out of the past 4 months, they have not had my tamoxifen in stock. I've had to wait for them to reorder it. I'm not sure if they got new management or what, but they need to majorly improve. read more

During a recent trip to pick up a few water bottles and that of some firewood when it was still cold and very gloomy with the rainstorm on the horizon, i was able to get what i needed but then for whatever reason, it took almost till closing for me to make it to the front and even then i tried to pay with my card only for it to be unreadable or something not accepted despite the fact i had done it at other similar stores without issue. To add insult to injuty, once i finisged the doors were locked as closing time had come and despite following the instructions to open it in an emegrency, i was still stuck until someone came over and opened it. It's an experience i share as i hate for what happened to me to happen to someone else in that prediciamnet and the staff were not the best at being the most curteous or professional and instead were jeered at by a woman like a shrew and someone that could care less about helping me out of there. I hardly go to place like this anymore but after this experience, I'll shop elsewhere. read more

I came into Rite Aid this morning looking for a back brace, as I struggle to stand for more than an hour due to a herniated disc and sciatica, which makes my manual labor job quite unpleasant!! This store thankfully had an affordable brace in stock, and I was so relieved as I headed to the checkout line... ...which is where the trouble began as both my debit cards were being declined, one of which was my $350 Middle Class Tax Refund card!! The other card was due to lack of funds, but my cashier, Angelica, was able to work around this issue to help me pull out whatever funds I had available while I struggled to figure out what was up with my Tax Refund card! As I was painfully waiting through minutes of prerecorded messages, Angelica took the initiative and was hard at work getting me a discount on the back brace, which I did not ask for nor expect but very much appreciated!! I am of course apologizing profusely throughout this whole ordeal, and she reassured me each time. Her coworker, Teresa, has also joined in offering support to both Angelica and I, and listened to the painfully long prerecorded messages alongside me as we tried to figure out What Is Going On With This Dang Card. Unfortunately, everything seemed perfectly fine with the card, it just didn't want to help me pay the $3 left in the balance to get this back brace I desperately needed to, you know, not have to deal with intense pain while trying to work!! After coming to the conclusion that we were not going to get this card to work anytime soon, Angelica was kind enough to cover the final $3 for me, which was such an incredible relief!! This whole transaction took *at least* ten minutes, through absolutely no fault of anyone but my own unfortunate luck, and both Angelica and Teresa were nothing but kind, patient, and helpful the entire time-- which I appreciated so incredibly much as I felt so bad for making them have to deal with all this!!! Bonus points to Angelica for, even while not assisting me directly and working the shelves, seemed to always be smiling and speaking with an upbeat friendly tone, and I caught a moment of vigilance from her as she called to a coworker who may have needed a little extra assistance! :D I absolutely plan on stopping by tomorrow afternoon on my way to work to pay back those $3!! And I very much hope to see both Angelica and Teresa there again! PS: Thank you to the pharmacist who let me know the new COVID vaccines should hopefully be coming in very soon!! Fingers crossed I can get jabbed within the next couple days! (also I got my flu shot earlier this year at this location, and they gave me a free ice cream cone for it. that was awesome) read more

I was at a get together in Ventura, and we were in need of dessert. So we came right on over to Rite Aid and bought some ice cream. Seeing as this is a small town, there was neither an issue with parking nor a big crowd to deal with. The whole thing was hassle free. Like most Rite Aid locations, the place is well stocked and clean. No shady characters to deal with, and attentive staff who kept the line moving. read more

Stopped in here when I had some time to kill waiting for a friend. Found some anti-fungal medication I was looking for and also found tea tree oil which I had a very hard time finding last month when I needed some. I was happy to see this Rite Aid carried it and at a price much cheaper than what I'd eventually paid elsewhere. Staff was polite and friendly. Store was clean and well-stocked. This pharmacy is a home town care experience with dedicated, friendly and attentive bilingual pharmacy technicians and clerks. The drive up window is mostly what we use but we needed our immunizations early, to prepare for this years COVID vaccine a bit later hopefully in 2020. Safety is their strength: there is a barrier at the window, masks are in use, and it is spotless. There is a good feeling you get from all the pharmacists as well. Competent, organized. Nice people, but awful COVID protocol at the pharmacy. I have mobility issues and can't get in to the store, so I prepay for my medicine so I can quickly go through the drive-thru. Not so. There's 2 lines available and instead of using for those who just need medicine, there's 1 line for all COVID testing, medicine pick-up, and whatever else you need done. They should have only built one lane as to not get people's hopes up. Would love to use the store close to my house, but driving elsewhere in town is worth not having to sit in line for 45 minutes behind 2 other people. read more

I have checked in here 17 times and Yelp asks what keeps me coming back? The answer is the location, right next to Vons and Big Lots with a shared parking lot, close to our house. I came to this location when it was called Drug King. The latest version of the store has decent prices on medication especially their generic brands, and an eclectic mix of make up, hair products, and seasonal items. Prices and selection are usually better than at Von's, and it's just right there next door, so I tend to wander over. I love this store!! Having been sorely abused by the ridiculously rude and incompetent staff at the CVS here in Santa Paula, switching to this store was like going from walking on hot coals to walking on cool clouds. I am not exaggerating. This store is well stocked in anything you might need, the staff are so nice and competent in the store and the pharmacy. I have never had to wait more than one hour maximum for a prescription, and that was during their busiest time. The app is great and the staff never fails to call me if there is a question. Biggest plus: they have a drive up window for the pharmacy!! Go Rite-Aid!!! read more

Pharmacy staff are incompetent. When they had an issue giving me more than one prescription at a time I told them I'd rather wait on taking the one and talk to my doctor about how she wrote the perscription. This place is a Joke!!!! I was getting my meds from The Medicine Shoppe before the building complex they were in caught on fire and they transferred all my prescriptions to Rite Aide. I place my refills a week before I run out and they'll call me after the orders are refilled. After 3 days I called and they said "We will call you when they're ready", but no one called me about it so I can pick up my meds. This happened 3-4 time and after the 5 time I reordered my refills, they finally gave me a courtesy call and texted my cellphone that my refills are ready,. When I got down there to picked them up, only one out of 6 were done and I asked where are the other 5? The lame excuse they gave me is their computer made a mistake and they have to refax my prescriptions back to my doctor office again. I going to have my meds transferred to another pharmacy for I'm never going back to this incompetent place again!!! read more
