So let me please give a shout out to the fine work and positive energy of Sam, the woman tasked with maintaining the organization of the Covid vaccinations. I have been in there on multiple occasions, including beginning my vaccine series, and no matter what is happening around her or what the stressors - she keeps it together! She keeps the process humming along and makes sure to keep people informed of where they are in the line and when they need to advance their positions, etc. She is focused, engaged, patient and attentive. Bill, in his work at the front counter responsible for checking people in and relocating them to the vaccine area, is also clearly aware of the trusted responsibility of his position. Ben the Manager at 2405 Broadway had shaking hands, charged me when I bent down to pick up a small candy bag my Service Dog knocked over while I was approaching the checkout pulled it from my hand, took what I was there to purchase, wouldn't sell it to me and said "HAVE A GOOD DAY" over 30 times before I stopped counting. Coming in between myself and my service dog was startling, charging me to grab product from my hand was humiliating, not allowing the other cashier to check me out was demoralizing. He is now outside the store screaming at me. I'm 71 and posting this before 1 walk a block to my car. I begged to be checked out by the other cashier... he wouldn't allow it. Ben needs to come off his high managerial horse or the medications that have taken control of his spirit. I'm 71 and was NOT looking for a fight. I was looking for hair color which was more expensive than Walgreens across the street but they were out. In line of the drive through, waited for 5 cars ahead of me, the "pharmacist" (1) told me I never refilled it (even though their automated system called me, twice) (2) told me my insurance was cancelled (no it isn't & renewal isn't until December *assisting with our benefits at work-I have direct knowledge ) (3) then told me that they called me & I was going to contact my insurance company (didn't happen) (4) told me my daughters allergy medicine was no longer covered by my insurance (even though it has been refilled every month for the last 8 years, by the same insurance company, including last month) (5) when I asked about filling the generic version, I was told it would be ready in a 1/2 hour *so here I am, in line, 5 cars back, picking up my non-refillable prescription I couldn't get her name, but for real, the Blue/green haired girl was just the worst experience I've ever had here read more

Tonight I was thinking of reviews I could leave for awesome workers during this terrible time of coronavirus. While I don't think this is the best rite aid location because there a couple unfriendly people (don't ask to use the restroom to close to closing time ), I have to stick up and say Nati is one of the most awesome customer service reps I know. He is so personable- asks how my dogs are doing, remembers things I tell him. The other day I was walking down the street and I see Nati waving at me from the window. I think he's one of the most pleasant people to see there. Another amazing customer service rep is Wendy. She is there with Nati a lot. These people deserve a raise. I do agree with some of the other comments though, because some people are not so friendly. Over the last few months, I've seen an improvement, though! read more

The pharmacy is a fkn joke! The people that work in the pharmacy with the exception of 1 person are idiots!! Trying to get regular medication that I've been taking for 8 years takes an act of Congress !! I've been coming here pretty regularly since my boys have been born. The drive-through and in-store pharmacies are fantastic. If I can't understand what someone is saying, it's repeated. Depending on when I'm coming home from work I might need a couple of repeats, but people there are pretty understanding and respectful. I haven't had any issues at the ice-cream stand, pharmacy, or checkout at pretty much any time of the day or evening. Their recent renovation makes the place look great. read more

Went in to purchase ice cream 1/29/19 and was attended by 'NATI'. I asked to sample cherry chip in which he did, he then went to register to help another customer. Upon coming back I asked about sampling 'medieval madness' in which he replied 'are you going to make me stand here all day giving you free samples?' I informed him I needed to sample before making a decision in which he then insisted he had (better) other things to do in the back. I asked to speak to a manager & he informed me there was non on shift and that he was the supervisor at the time. Tried to transfer three prescriptions and get them refilled. One refill was two days early and one was 6 days early. At Rite Aid web site it wasn't an issue to refill and at the Rite Aid I shopped at for the last two years it was never an issue to get a script refilled within 7 days early. The lady who called me from the pharmacy could not have been more condescending and rude. She told me that their pharmacy had "policies that were different than Rite Aid corporate" and that my transfer request would need to wait until all scripts were past their refill date. Bottom line, I had done business with a San Diego Rite Aid for two years with ZERO issues but this one is apparently different than every other Rite Aid. Finally, I went to Walgreens across the street and got stellar service & the clerk even saved $70 off my prescription by suggesting a program & she took the time to realize why I was there to begin with & suggest other OTC products that could help my condition. read more

Yesterday I had a tooth worked on and needed to fill a prescription for pain medicine. I asked if it could be filled quickly because of the pain starting. I switched to the rite aid pharmacy for the convenience of the drive through. That was less than a year ago. This place has been nothing but a hassle. The Asian pharmacist is so difficult to understand I just smile and nod. They have recently overfilled my medications, which caused my insurance to limit my medications for the remainder of the month. They also increased the dosage on a narcotic medication with out notifying the doctor or myself. The girls upfront just want to give you your medication and move you along, not willing to help with insurance issues, or any other paperwork. I'm going back to Walmart neighborhood pharmacy. read more

The worst customer service ever!!! I was just in line to buy my daughter one scoopof ice cream. There was just one person ahead of me and the cashier decides to help a guy who was clearly just got to the register. Then another person just came in after him and he decides to help the next person and she looks at me like sorry and I was like really. She said wait ill call my manager and I'm like go ahead and call him and left the store. She knew she was in the wrong by helping the other customers before me but she continued to do it anyway. The other 2 customers were buying alcohol and they just barely got in line. I was waiting patiently for my turn and she knew that but still choose to do what she did. If I could give ZERO stars to this pharmacy, I would. I would give Karen Osmena, pharmacy tech in the negative numbers for her inability to communicate or display any common sense whatsoever. I am staying in town as a visitor. I have a prescription on file with Rite Aid and they won't fill it. As a courtesy, a pharmacist will usually cover even a day of medication for someone needing a bridge until they get home. This lady refuses. There is a blatant lack of regard for my safety and my well being here that is reprehensible. Stay away from this place! Apparently, the managers do. I can't speak to one because they are not there. Leaving power tripping, rigid techs in charge is not good for business, Mr. Absentee Manager. read more

5 Stars for the Assistant Manager ED who has been there for years. Very hard worker, so patient and kind, the customers all love him. It takes a special personality to work with the public and put up with that kind of stress on a daily basis, on your feet all day, especially during the pandemic when you are one of the few stores open. These essential workers are putting their lives on the line, and Ed is special because he goes above and beyond the call of duty to help anyone. I don't think he's ever missed a day's work, or, if so, very rarely. I live close by and shop there often and was teasing him, do you live here? Do you ever take a day off? I'm not sure why he hasn't been made Manager yet but I think the Rite-Aid gods should seriously consider it. This is an Excellent employee who works his butt off and it would be sad to see another company grab him with a better offer because there was no growth left for him here. read more

I've been adding Plenti points to our card for over 4 years since my husband died. When I tried to redeem them they told me I can't because the card is in his name. He couldn't shop for years before he died - I was the one who shopped here. I spoke to a manager on the phone in help center for Plenti and they couldn't care less. I think this is unfair. Went to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy. The cashier asked if I wanted to speak to the pharmacist to ask questions, and I said yes. The pharmacist came over and I asked him about ingredients to allergies I have. He was extremely rude about answering the question and treated me like I was an idiot for asking a serious question. I have no idea how this guy is allowed to work. I left feeling disrespected and unreassured about taking the medication I picked up, not a good feeling! The cashier apologized for the pharmacist, but she shouldn't have had to do so. read more
