I'm sure they have been through a lot at this location, which I definitely take into consideration, but I don't think that means that low quality customer treatment is now acceptable (across multiple visits). I waited for them to come take a cheap item I needed out of the locked cages (that every item is in now), and when they did, instead of handing me the 5 dollar item, they insisted that they would take it up to the front where it would be waiting for me. After waiting in a long line, my item was not at the front.. So I just checked out without it. As I was leaving, an employee came up to me with the item I needed and acted like I was being an inconvenience. I went back and purchased the item only to find out that I missed out on a discount that I would have gotten if I'd have purchased it with my other items. I couldn't care less about the discount - ha, but it's just the principle of the situation and how the employees I dealt with could obviously care less. And this has been a re-occurring vibe at this store. Not to mention that the store's inventory has not been very great either.. ALTHOUGH, it is true that you never-ever know what people might be dealing with in their lives... --which is why I gave a 2 star rating instead of 1 star.

This is a difficult CVS to review as there is a lot of shenanigans from the unhoused just outside…read morethe door. But it's a good CVS, the employees are nice and helpful. This one is good if you're staying in the area or need something in a pinch.

I come there to work from my iPad frequently and one day, I needed to take a ZOOM call. The ONE umbrella was taken so I pulled a chair over into a shaded area. The security guard came over to tell me that I was not allowed to pull a chair into the area and that I had to put it back. He did this as my ZOOM call was starting so I hurriedly got up to move and my iPad fell and cracked. I stopped coming as much for awhile because I have seen other people move their chairs to find more shade in the past. Well PLEASE explain why I am here right now and this Asian man is not only allowed to move one chair into that same area but they HELPED him move several chairs and a TABLE to sit in the area that I was asked to move from. I have seen him here on several occasions and maybe he has closer ties? Who knows? What I do know is that what is good for the goose should be good enough for the gander. So if this area is prohibited to sit in, that should be applied to EVERYONE. And then when I tried to address with the woman who works in the office, she snapped at me after I asked if I could ask her a question. Her exact words: "About WHAT??" Once she led with that energy, I asked was she an employee (I have already been told in the past that she is) and she replied, "No, I don't work here." SO i left her alone even after she tried to clean it up by asking if I wanted to speak with the other security guards. I walked away and sat down to write this. But I also asked the security guard (DAVID) who originally told me that I could not pull a chair into the area why it was okay for the person that is sitting there now and he told me that it is because they are employees. He told ME that that are could not be blocked by the ONE chair that I pulled over into a CORNER but they have a whole table and several chairs set up as I type this. The woman who swears she is not an employee (SHE IS) came over to me trying to ask what I needed and I told her I was good and that I was leaving. She said, "Well you're complaining so..." and I cut her right TF off and told her that I was not COMPLAINING; I was asking a VALID question. She then starts talking sh*t telling me that I come there all the time to sit in the courtyard while purchasing nothing. MIND YOU, the local businesses at this location know me by name and/or face (Escala, Silverlake Ramen, Cap't Loui, Starbucks, etc...). This is also a place where transient/unhoused individuals come all the time to sit and rest so imagine saying something so insensitive not knowing what the situation may be. It is a public area and nobody is OBLIGATED to purchase anything. But I DO on a WEEKLY basis so perhaps Miss Girl can get her facts straight. But it's okay. I will be contacting management asap.

NO STARS !! They are so bad i am in the process of reporting the head pharmacist, ari?, tall, tan, bald, rude, for violating HIPPA. He yelled across a full pharmacy "man you just love taking these pills so much you can't just take one a day" I am meant to take three a day OR MY HEART EXPLODES FROM GRAVES!! and then he refused to give me my medication when I came back in for a refill. ( which was ready, see photo) He finally relented and gave it to me ??so which is it ?? you broke the law or you're a jerk, whos bad at their job. it can only be one of the two, right? Because you finally filled it ( after trying to trick me with TWO pills, no joke, in my bottle, making me come back again, choosing work or the ER) so which is it ? are you a lawbreaker , or an a hole who just withholds medication for no reason? Also he's a medication withholding liability and he is going to get somebody killed and they will sue . I can't wait till the board investigates you ( And the little boy with the highlights) they'll have everything on video everything on audio and I am not only not lying --- it's way worse than it sounds. when I also came in to refill my second prescription that you finally gave to me ( after refusing to fill it for an entire month causing me TWO seizures a hospital stay etc. etc. even after my primary care physician called him and said what are you doing fill this or she's going to die ) after giving me a really hard time I audio recorded you the entire time FYI ( turns out it's acceptable in public places one point for me) and I have all of those additional HIPPA violations as well ( As soon as I saw you when I walked in that pharmacy I hit record because I knew just how predictable you were with your nastiness, that I'm also forwarding to the board. Additionally your coworkers hate you ( surprise) they hate working with you. you're such a jerk to them. Kindness gets you farther. learn how to talk to humans and be nice.( There's one little small boy with highlights who sucks up to you a lot he also violated HIPPA, but he's just a cashier assistant to you. so although I am reporting him to the board as well, i'm just gonna forward The complaints to the head of the pharmacy as well. I've been coming there for five years and I've never been anything but patient kind and cordial. I have never had my privacy violated in such a humiliating way, both times I left the store shaking and in tears, I have never been treated or spoken to so poorly in my life repeatedly. You don't deserve a job you deserve to go to anger management therapy and be 5150d. get ready to defend this because they have video they have audio and so do I I FYI the first time I tried to fill my prescription when he violated HIPPA. He yelled at me threw up gang signs and said peace I'm out of here and didn't help me not joking. Im SO happy pharmacists are recorded. I have never heard a man speak more disturbing and more rude to his employees ever, all he does is verbally abuse them , perhaps it's a little boy complex thing, but it's all he does. all of my 2nd recording was him violating HIPPA and verbally abusing his employees. Again the very mean pharmacist who is very tall very bald and tan. But don't worry he hopefully won't have a job at once the board looks into it ( my mom who is a real doctor told me to give him three chances I'm only giving him two) My main question is which is it why wouldn't you fill my prescription on the 13th because you are a jerk or because you decided to break the law it can only be one of the two ( google:logic) Hey GM of 7900 W. Rite Aid pharmacy negligence almost killed my dog. DO NOT TRUST Rite Aid for your loved ones medicine needs. My dog was diagnosed with Diabetes. I was shock and scared. I asked the Vet every question I could and then on my way home stopped at Rite Aid to get the insulin and needs and more info. No one was in line and the assist pharmacist grated me. I gave her the prescription and she brought the insulin and then said she did not have a whole box of the needles on the prescription. One box has about 100 needled. The lead pharmacist who was on a computer jumped in with out even looking up and said use the other needled. I then interrupted and said the vet specifically said to make sure I get these needles on the prescription. Again without looking up she said at this low dose (5units) it would be easier to read on these other needles. I then said this low dose was temperately and we will be raising the dose up to 14 or 15units. Lead Pharmacist said give him a few packs and then we can change them out as you go higher. I then asked, Is this the same measurement, and with out looking up she said yes. I went home and that night started my dog on her first shots of insulin. Two days later she started having what I called panic attacks, she would be shaking, low deep cry's, she would not focus and kinda hunched and scooted across the room. I calmed her down and gave her a snack which she ate so fast. I called my VET and described what had started and he said she should show no reaction to 5 units. The panic attracts continued and got worse, every 4 hours she would have an attack. I found that if I feed here something every three hours it would help. I called multi VETs to try and find out what was going on and if this was normal, all unsure of what was happening to my dog. MY DOG WAS IN GREAT PAIN and SCARED. 5 days later I awoke to my dog in a seizure at 3:40am. I had read if this happens to rub maple syrup on there gums to revive them, I did and she came out of it so disoriented, I quickly feed her a whole bowl of food which she ate in 30 seconds. Once she was stable I called the emergency Hospital. They said bring her in. When I arrived she was on the verge of another seizure, the tech took her blood count and her sugar level was below 30 and very dangerous. They rushed her into emergency and started her on glycueamin shoots and and IV. I had the insulin and needles with me, showed them to the Vet and she said this was the wrong needle and that I was giving my dog 50 units instead of 5 units. Rite Aid lead Pharmacist after me questioning her three times and without really getting up to talk to me gave me the wrong needles. THIS WAS NO MISTAKE! If it were a mistake, she would have re thought her answer when the customer questioned her three times saying the VET specifically said I must get this needled on the prescription. therefore: RITE AID'S PHARMACY TRIED TO KILL MY DOG. read more

I LOVE this Rite Aid because I am a GLUTTON for punishment! The joy of visiting this store starts on the street in front, where to get into the driveway you have to suffer honking from the over stressed maniac drivers who think Fairfax is the AUTOBAHN and anything that slows down to turn must be a Swiss tourist so BLAMMM BLAMMM they can't wait to lean on the horns of their Mercedes! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT WALKING UP TO THE STORE - you will suffer the smells and sounds of nasty demanding con men and women who think you owe them all your money so they can continue to lounge (as in spread out wide) on the sidewalk... you might think you are lost in some third world ghetto nightmare, but no, the bus stop will tell you - this is Fairfax and Sunset 2008. Once inside the store, prepare for the ABSOLUTE MOST DISORIENTING LAYOUT you have ever seen in your life! NOTHING is stocked with ANY logic at all, you can't find a damn thing you are looking for, the stock in the aisles has NOTHING in common with the overhead signs, and the angular floor layout is a maze that takes you NOWHERE except to the tampon section! NEED MORE ASSAULT and ABUSE??? Ask for some... by addressing the "workers". They will gladly send you to EXACTLY the WRONG aisle by number - posing to pretend to know even a sliver of what the hell they are talking about! If by some chance of fate you find something you wish to purchase... be sure to time your wait in line so you are behind one of the regular patrons who try to return JUNK they bought at a garage sale, with no sales slip, and never having been entered in the store's computer inventory... and then get a BIG laugh out of the single clerk at the checkout counter indulging this charade for 20 minutes, instead of telling them to take a hike. Want MORE... stop reading this and just go... you wont be disappointed! read more

Perennially understaffed is an understatement for this Rite Aid location. There are now more people working outside than in this store. It recently enlisted an enthusiastic but petulant parking attendant that now hands you a stub that must be validated for 30 min of free parking.( Never mind that you will wait at the pharmacy for 45 minutes or 25 in a line a mile long at the main checkout.) The other colorful characters you may find vying for your attention that work right outside its portals- a platinum blonde Filipino shemale hooker with a silly grin on his face, an annoyingly glib white teenager with a clipboard, a shifty eyed black dude aggressively soliciting for charity donations, and a cadre of revolving vagrants diligently working you for the rest of your cash. I`m convinced they all carpool together. A stark contrast to what you encounter if you make it inside. Don`t expect any employee (other than those at the pharmacy) to make eye contact with you or help you with anything ever. The only reason I gave this place an extra star is the last time I went, I stood in line with one of Oscars actor nominees who engaged me in a continuous volley of looks of bemusement at the slow, crappy service. It was the only time i`ve ever cracked a smiled in that store. read more

Used to live just on the other side of Fairfax in the beautiful Spaulding Square neighborhood, and while we definitely prefer CVS and Walgreens... and Target... and just about anywhere to Rite Aid, this one does have some nice advantages to your standard Rite Aid. Such as? 1. It is always empty, which is fortunate since they have one employee. 2. It has a parking lot, that smells worse than anything you can imagine. That about sums it up. Some homeless people sleep on the ramp into the store, but it is next to The Griddle, so could you possibly ask for anything else? In all honesty, they're more expensive than the other places I listed before and they have a sketchy selection, but sometimes you need a Monster at 7 am, and they usually have them at 2 for $5. read more

This rite aid feels very unsafe at night. I went in on a Sunday night around 9 to get froyo and a crazy man was walking around rite aid and following my girlfriend and I. When we paid for our yogurt the man started to walk out to the parking lot so we asked if security could escort us to our car or at least to be outside. The cashier said there was no security and could care less. Luckily an older man offered to stand outside since the crazy man started yelling and cussing and started getting violent. Rite aid needs to buff up their security at night or they need to prepare to lose far more customers. read more

I can't believe I just got kicked out for being in here for an hour without buying anything. Mind you the lady security saw my full basket and whatever shrugged her shoulders and took my basket. Wtf! Hells yes I'm being slow looking and grabbing everything on sale. I had over $200 in my basket and wasn't finished. I recently visited Rite Aid Pharmacy and had an incredibly disappointing experience. The pharmacist was unhelpful, rude, and condescending throughout our interaction. Instead of offering assistance or clarity, they seemed irritated by basic questions and spoke in a dismissive tone. It felt like my concerns were not taken seriously, which is unacceptable for a healthcare professional. The store is great, and the line moves well. Shelves are well stocked and clean. Ice cream is delish. Pharmacy sucks arse! Really, really disorganized! Even if you call them in advance and say, is my prescription ready? yes, it is! go to the store.... your prescription? oh, we're waiting for a call back from your doctor!! Everytime is something!!! Very disappointed!! I witnessed security and employees racially profile a family. The family was literally buying ice cream having fun at the front of the story, their kids we're picking what flavor they wanted. And the Riteaid employees felt the need to profile\ watch from all angles and give looks. It made me uncomfortable, can't imagine how they felt. I was trying to get my klonopin prescription and called to see if it was ready, only to be told they can no longer fill it at ALL and to find another pharmacy as they're closing. Ehhh I just don't know about this Rite-Aid. Either they don't like people shopping there, or that's just the impression they give off. I called back an hour later and was told it was not ready and if I wanted to have it transferred somewhere else, I could do that? I know it sounds stupid. I can only say to read the many other one-star reviews, and I think you'll get the picture, totally incompetent, asinine and completely out of touch with the public. How are these people still in business???

Because they are one of the few places you can get the top level Sanofi Flu Vaccine FluBlok. But David, aren't all Flu Vaccines the same? Are all cars the same??? All cars will get you from point A to B, but wouldn't you rather go in a Corvette than a Civic? Not all Flu Vaccines are made the same and are the same quality and safety. Ralphs has all 3 levels of Sanofi's Vaccines: 1. FluBlok for 18 to 65 2. High dose Fluzone for 65 and older. (FluBlok okay also for 65 and older) 3. Lower dose FluBlok for children. I got mine last week and the senior Pharmacist administered it--such a nice guy we chatted for a few minutes after about things. I made an appointment online at the Ralph's website, but not required--you can walk-in. But you can complete all the paperwork online and then there is nothing to do when you show up. And Ralphs also has all 3 New Covid Vaccines if you are inclined: 1. Pfizer (MNRA) approx 95% effective 2. Moderna (MNRA) approx 95% effective 3. Novavax (90% effective--non-MNRA) for those that are concerned about the adverse effects of MNRA. And Best of all--this Ralph's has a private doctors office they take you into for the shot--none of that shot in store next to the cheese where your neighbors are watching and gossip to everyone. "Hey, I saw David today in Ralph's getting a flu shot--he screamed so loud...can you believe he got the shot?" Last the other thing I like about Ralph's is the quality of their pharmaceuticals. I actually look at where they are manufactured and look up reviews of the labs. There is a difference there too. And when you are done at the pharmacy--pick up some Guinness--my favorite Beer to celebrate--they have that there too. And check the label to make sure you are getting the one made in Ireland at the Original Factory--I check the labels there too. No one wants an Irish beer made in the USA like they used to.

Now it's costing me an additional $63 because I parked in a spot designated for this business!!! I attached my receipt to challenge the citation and was told that the parking violation notice was issued 'on complaint' of the resident/business. They call on their own customers! BEWARE! Shop elsewhere!!

They treat me with kindness, fairness, empathy, and compassion, and they go out of their way to accommodate me when they can. In a digital age where face-to-face business is becoming rare, it's refreshing to deal with real people who treat you like a real person. Interestingly, other pharmacies close by doesn't have the out of pocket charges. Come to find out they really attempt to charge for bulk orders such as 3 months supply. There are specific meds which can be bulk ordered that is administrated every couple weeks or so. The pharmacy refuse to bulk order this med. So we inquired with several other pharmacies then found out that pharmacy make less money when meds are sold in bulk. Albeit the front desk lady is still pleasant, the lady pharmacist or the shorter male pharmacist isn't. There are many more viable, less expensive and friendlier options nearby. I'm not coming here anymore.

I had a procedure scheduled that required taking pills ahead of time. They were called in, and I scheduled delivery. They never arrived. I called first thing in the morning and the person on the phone was apologetic. I rushed over to get the pills, only to find the bottle says they need to be taken 12 hours before the procedure, which was now two hours away. When I asked the woman at the counter what happened, she blatantly lied, telling me they'd tried delivery but needed a door code. When I explained this would cost me a $200 cancellation fee on the procedure, she gave me the most phony "sorry about that." Good riddance. Shit happens, but I don't need a condescending attitude on top of an already stressful situation.
