ALL the pharmacy staff have made an effort to know me and my special needs child by name. It's true that there can be a wait during peak times, so I try to avoid the rush hours. If you are one to the people that have complained about the wait, when you drop off your prescription, simply ask the staff when the best time to return is. Or telephone them before leaving the house. Or check into the home delivery option I am always greeted with a smile, perhaps it's because I walk through the doors with a positive attitude. I've used this Rite-Aid for a couple of years, usually without incident. Recently, the treatment we received was so abhorrent that we are moving all of our prescriptions elsewhere. Here's what happened: My girlfriend was filling a prescription for a controlled sleep med. She went at noon and was told come back after 3pm. We called at 3pm and were told to come back at 4:45 (They close the Pharmacy at 5pm on Sunday). When we arrived they told us the system was down and they were not able to give us the prescription....which my girlfriend NEEDS to sleep. It was at this point I realized the system was down all day, and instead of informing us so we could transfer the prescription they covered the issue up. Had they divulged the real situation we could have transferred the prescription. The pharmacy tech told us the best she could do was tomorrow morning...for a sleep med. There was exactly ZERO concern, empathy, or effort to solve this problem on her part. When I called the next morning we were told try to again in the afternoon (system obviously still down). PS: The only reason this review is 2 stars and not 1, is I don't take 1 star reviews seriously. I can see why Rite-Aid Corporation had to file bankruptcy. read more

This morning I went to the ER for a second time because my pharmacy couldn't get their act together and denied my medication. Thankfully, my ER Doctor is a rockstar and got mad at Rite Aid, gave me the medication I needed, and sent it to a better pharmacy whom filled it with no issue. I have been waiting for my prescription to get filled for over 2 weeks. Called it in and never got a response that they were working on it all. So I finally had to call. They told me last Tuesday that they were ordering it. The following Monday I call and get told yes they have it, but they haven't filled it yet. They are backlogged and he will get to it tonight. When I tell him I have not been on my important diabetes medication for over 2 weeks now he doesn't care at all. Blames it on the supplier and takes no accountability and no apology is given. All this after being on hold for over 25 minutes too. This used to be an amazing pharmacy and now it sucks. read more

If there were negative stars I would choose them. This has got to be the most disgusting drug store I have ever been in. It is dirty and empty. Worst of all in this store is the pharmacy. The phone is NEVER answered. If you call in your prescriptions via their phone options, they are not filled. If they don't fill your RX, they let you know why until you go into the store to pick them up according to the message you receive from the automated prompter.They give you wrong information regarding pick times for your prescriptions. NEVER AGAIN. We called on a Saturday to see if the pharmacy had an antibiotic for our cat. They confirmed, yes they did have it. We had our vet call in the prescription and leave a message. We drive 20 minutes to the pharmacy. They then decide tell us their voicemail is broken and can't listen to our vets prescription request. We contact our vet AGAIN and have them fax the request, they tell us it wont be ready until atleast 3pm once they receive the fax but we can come back on Sunday to pick it up if we cant wait 2 hours. (It was 1pm at this point and we couldn't wait around) Fine, we wait and come back Sunday morning for them to be "closed due to illness". Not a soul in the pharmacy and now our cat has missed 4 doses of medicine. We call first thing in the morning and they LIE and say the request came in at 5pm Sunday and they are working on it. Not true, we have the receipt from the vet it was faxed 1:13 on Saturday. They then call us a half hour later to tell us they don't have it in stock after all. So now our sick and suffering cat has missed 5 doses of this medication and is suffering because of their incompetence. Do they help us transfer the prescription to another pharmacy and help us find a location that has it in stock? NOPE. They condescendingly say "Have a great day" and hang up. read more

The pharmacy is horrible! If you have a controlled substance prescription, (sleep med) good luck getting it. They lie constantly. The last time I tried to get it filled I was told they are not filling brand name prescriptions anymore. Well, that was a lie. I called the national number and left a message regarding this more than obvious lie and within a couple of days I got a call that my prescription was ready. This month, I received a text on Oct 3rd saying it was too early and would be filled on the 6th. It was early, but I've learned that I have to have my doctor call it in early because I know it won't be ready on time. That was ok. The 6th came and went. On the 8th, I went into the pharmacy and she had them in her hand, but told me it couldn't be filled until the next day after 4 because they were doing inventory or something. The next day came and went and no text. I called this evening and it was as if none of the staff were ever going to fill it. In their system, it didn't even show that the drug in question was filled and ready. If I hadn't called tonight, they would never fill it and text me as promised. This has been happening for several years, but it has been a lot worse lately. There is a couple of good people who work in the pharmacy, but turnover is frequent. Guess I'll have to call the complaint line again. read more

Worst experience ever came here on 8/14/2021 at about 9:00 p.m. Victoria informed me that they could not serve ice cream because they were busy tagging items I said hey we just want ice cream she said that's too bad we're busy... I said hey I am going to put this on Yelp and she said go ahead Yelp away I don't care... This is the type of behavior I would expect from a lower grade pharmacy but not rite aid... Unfortunately my family and I will no longer be doing business with rite aid all because of laziness. read more

I purchased a VISA $50 gift card for my niece's birthday at Rite Aid in Blue Jay, CA. My niece emailed me that the card didn't work for her because they told her it was not properly validated. So I searched for my receipt and had my niece give me the card number. When I went to Rite Aid and went to the check-stand with a bunch of items including another VISA $50 gift card the clerk was not nice. She was almost mean. "All sales are Final" was her response. I said OK just ring me up. I don't usually request cash back, but when prompted, I asked for $20 this time. She said "I don't have any cash at this register!" I was so confused about the rudeness that I just left everything there and walked out. I have been a loyal customer at the store and pharmacy for decades. Now I will try to avoid it whenever possible and I will go to a different pharmacy as well. It's probably safer to mail cash than purchase a Rite Aid Visa gift card. Wow, why such hate? I always find the store well stocked and my wife can usually find all of her makeup, facial creams, etc that would otherwise require a trip down the hill. I've used the pharmacy once and I had no problems, not sure why everyone else did? The staff is always friendly, and often when it's busy one cashier will work two different drawers while people's credit cards process. It's an asset having a Rite Aid up here and I hope they never leave. read more

The front of the store staff are very nice so this review should not reflect on them at all. The biggest problem this store has is its pharmacy. It is so well known in our small mountain communities that this pharmacy is slow, rude and incompetent, that people joke about it all the time with each other and on social media. You can call in a refill on a regular prescription and still wait 30 minutes after they have already texted you it's been filled. The lines are always outrageous and they always seem to be understaffed. My husband and I leave frustrated every...single...time! Tonight was no different except that it is the end of them having my business and I will be switching to Beeman's. When I called and tried to speak with someone about an issue I was having with a regular prescription refill I was met with the most abrupt and rude women on the phone. I was shocked at how aggressive and unapologetic she was. She was so argumentative and condescending that I asked my husband to pick up the prescription for me because I could not be subjected to her any more. When he arrived at the pharmacy he met her in person and couldn't believe how rude she was in person. Turns out she is the Pharmacy Manager (her name is Ngozi) which was incredibly disappointing. I am shocked that someone with very little customer service and even less compassion would be managing the entire pharmacy. It does explain why the pharmacy is so dysfunctional though. Some of the clerks at the pharmacy are friendly but overall they just can't make up for the terrible experience each time you go there. I dread filling prescriptions with them more than anything and feel relieved that even though it means driving another 10 minutes, I won't have to deal with this ever again. read more

The rite aid pharmacy in Blue Jay, CA is the WORST outfit that I have done business with. The staff generally are very incompetent, the management and pharmacist, including the middle eastern lady suck and this is putting it mildly. This place is so crappy that we are now driving 40 minutes away to the closest CVS pharmacy to get our medication. If you can't effectively run a pharmacy then close the friggen place and let someone else who knows how to do things come in. Closing this place would be THE BEST community service. read more

The 2 stars are for the front of the store. The pharmacy is a nightmare!! They're liars, and act as if patients twice their age were born yesterday lol I have been using this pharmacy since 2014, but have transferred 6 of my medications out and stopped buying Nexxium there as well. I had gnarly surgery and have many other health problems, I need my medications to stay alive and functional to take care of my 5 kids. First they screwed up my thyroid, and didn't give me the correct dosage. My thyroid and adrenals crashed. I looked at the prescription, as it should have been a sufficient dosage.. and come to find out they didn't fill the extra small pill that was on my scribe (I take a large pill and a small one to get the right amount) The doctor did in fact write it down. Did they apologize for damaging my body? No. They groaned like they hate their job. They recently hired some awful rude brunette at the counter where you drop off, she lies now every single month... no matter what month of the day, that they don't have my pain medication. Then the pharmacist will patronize me as if I don't know they are doing that across the country and patients are having this problem with chain pharmacies. I've lived here for years and never had these problems.. don't lie to me. After it happened last month, a month after the thyroid nightmare... I started transferring all my meds out as it comes time to refill. If you aren't going to fill what I need, I'm not going to give you my business for any of it ‍ Place still has good ice cream, so you get the two stars for serving my kids. read more

Have you ever been to a Rite Aid with 6 people working behind the pharmacy counter and a 45-60 minute line (after you were called to pickup your prescription)? Come here if you'd like to experience that regularly. I've been to many a pharmacy, Rite Aids and their competitors, both inside and out of California, and I've never seen anything like it. If you have any other shopping to do, it's worth your time to drive down the mountain to the Kendall location (Dennis is AMAZING) or find another pharmacy if you're local to the lake like us. I'm up in Lake Arrowhead for the weekend and the batteries in my remote key for my car died. I called and talked to David. He found the correct battery and held it for me. Once I got to the store he took apart my key and changed the battery. My parents drove me and when I got back to the house the key worked perfectly! David saved the day! I could have had to leave my car up here and drive far to find a battery if the store didn't have what I needed and if David wasn't so kind as to change it out because it was too complicated for me. This is literally the worst pharmacy my wife and I have ever experienced. They are constantly understaffed and pharmacy personnel rarely answer the phone. When they do answer the phone, the pharmacy personnel consistently lie about the status of prescriptions--often multiple times in the same day. Even if they say everything is ready, you will show up to pick up, and they tell you it will be several more hours until it is ready. Even their automated system (texts etc.) is not properly followed. Kind if sucks when it is for a very sick infant who needed the medication hours ago, which has happened more than once. We have been told medication is in stock, when it isn't. We have found the wrong medication filled Despite everyone we know in the mountain community having issues with this pharmacy, nothing has changed in over three years. If you can go to the pharmacy during the weekdays, we would strongly recommend Beemans at Mountain Community Hospital instead. We have never had similar issues there. Unfortunately, Rite Aid is the only pharmacy open up here on the weekends. Sadly, it is worth your time to go to one down the mountain instead. If you have experienced issues such as these, please contact Rite Aid corporate and file a complaint, as well as the local Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. Social media posts can warn people as well. Nothing will change otherwise. read more

The pharmacy is awful! Had to bring my 3 month old with me at the time they said my prescription would be ready, and when I got there they said it'd be about an hour longer. Well I didn't want to wait any longer with my newborn so I said i'd come back another day. Well I went the following week and after waiting in that ridiculous line (that's always there) both of the cashiers left right when it was my turn, leaving me there to continue carrying my 3 month old in the car seat. When one came back it still wasn't filled, I waited and then there was an issue with my insurance not covering prenatals after the baby was born. I wish they could've told me this the first time I went in so I didn't have to keep subjecting my newborn to all the germs that go in and out here. There is always an issue with these people, I wont use this pharmacy ever again. read more
