We arrived into Corvara later in the day and headed out to eat. Based on reviews, I choose this…read moreplace. It was 9pm and I called and was told that if we can right then, we could get in. Upon arrival, you can tell they were wrapping up for the night. I had the veg soup, which was really good. I then ordered the beet dumplings in gorgonzola sauce (that isn't what they were called). I for some reason was thinking that I was getting a beet ravioli. Either way, it was SO good. SUPER heavy and filling but good. Good enough that I was tempted to go back another day for more but with the limited time we had in the area, I wanted to try other places. My husband had the spinach and pecorino (?) ravioli that is native to that area in a butter sauce. They were good too but mine was better! LOL. We shared the chocolate salami for dessert. It was drier and dense but good-more his thing than mine. I think it had small pieces of bread in it or cake. Not overly sweet or rich. I would definitely return here. I have already been trying to find a recipe for the beet dumplings - they were that good! This place won't disappoint.

The two of us had wine, steak, pasta and soup for under EUR50 and were rolling out afterwards. Great food, friendly atmosphere, reasonable price, car parking. The only sad thing was that it was our last night and we couldn't go back the next day.

Popped into town after a day of hiking nearby and were looking for something simple for lunch…read more There's a strip of restaurants near the parking lot and we ultimately chose this one as it seemed busy with a large menu. We grabbed the soup of the day-orzo-which needed much much more seasoning. Grabbed one of their pastas, which was fine (better than the orzo), as well as a pizza that was probably the best part of the meal. It's unclear to me who gets baskets of bread as it seemed very random. The seating system is a mess. You get a number and they call out numbers randomly if you're waiting outside. Our number was certainly skipped but when I asked why I was told it had been announced a bunch (which I have a tough time believing since we heard all of the other numbers and were sitting immediately outside...). Once seated, the service itself leaves a fair amount to be desired as it seems like they're too busy for their own good. The bathrooms were nice, which was convenient. And there was free Wifi, which made the 15-20 minute wait not terrible. There aren't so many options in the immediate vicinity so I'm not sure how the others compare. Ultimately, it was a fine choice.

The vibe is eccentric, off season Christmas lights and sort of silly decorations, but everything we got was excellent. Its more comfort food style, and we ordered more than we could eat because we wanted to try too many things. No disappointments. Also, they had a fun list of beers from a nearby brewery that I really liked. If you're in the area this is a great choice.

A great (Michelin-starred) restaurant (St Hubertus... see separate review) that is semi-attached. Okay... two down sides: the "terrace" area is a little on the less-cared-for side...I don't think many people even go out there. And... the actual fitness center gym is, in my wife's words, "Bogus"... no free weights and a few scattered older/funkier machines (and a few legit ones). But the pool, sauna, steam room and rest of the spa seemed great. The usual amazing breakfast buffet you find in most decent European hotels... see pix. The bar area is intimate and well served by the bartender who seems to have his hands full with other activities as well. The sommelier who takes care of all your wine needs at St Hubertus was nice enough to give our group a wine tasting in the hotel bar area (three wines that all came with bites of food from the restaurant, as well). After the tasting he led us through some back work corridors and into the working kitchen for the Michelin restaurant for some more treats including eh nicest, tenderest Speck I've ever had. I gotta say, it felt like we were getting the star treatment there and a lot of that may be due to the fact that we were with a Backroads Tour (see review).
