Five minutes before the appointment, the leasing rep called to say an earlier visitor had arrived late (30 mins late) and asked us to wait "about 15 minutes" in the lobby. We agreed and arrived promptly. Unfortunately, after waiting until 4:15 p.m.--with no sign of the rep and no response to our call--I had to leave. The representative called back roughly at 4:30 p.m. with an apology, but by then our afternoon plans were disrupted and the opportunity to see the community was gone. I emailed management that evening to explain what happened and to give them a chance to address the issue. More than a week later, I have received no reply whatsoever. The combination of: -poor appointment prioritization (on-time visitors were bumped for someone who was 30 minutes late), -lack of real-time updates while I waited, and -complete radio silence after I submitted a detailed complaint speaks volumes about the property's customer service. If this is how prospective residents are treated, I can only imagine how existing tenants fare when something goes wrong. I ended up looking elsewhere. Disappointing experience all around.

There was black mold in the dishwasher, the floors and countertops were dusty, and the shower had stains.On top of this, the appliances didn't even work. The ice maker and water filter was not working and the electrical socket in the bathroom caused a short in my curling iron and ruined it. After informing the front desk about the conditions of my place I was met with an attitude! It was a complete and sudden change from the friendly attitude I was met with before signing my lease. Since I've lived here the leasing office staff and property manager have been very rude and unhelpful! Both act like your bothering them when you have concerns or maintenance requests. As for the amenities, they are a joke. When I moved in, I was told there was a rooftop deck that was being built. I've lived at City View for almost 6 months, and as of this month the rooftop deck shows no signs of ever being completed. Amenities are old and used, the pool table is worn and the speakers in the theater room don't work. Also, there are mouses missing from the computer lab downstairs .There's been several instances in which management have commented in the resident portal that certain repairs to the building are too expensive to complete. A few months ago I asked the property manager why my unit did not have window blinds and she informed me that it was no longer in the budget to finish adding blinds to the remaining units! The rent here is pretty high so it's frustrating to constantly be reminded that updates or repairs are not in the budget. Also worth mentioning: The walls are so thin I can hear my upstairs neighbor take a shower and listen to music. There is a half way house across the street and a sobriety center around the corner. Theres also a growing homeless population with tents under the freeway nearby and across the street from the garage. Considering all of this I don't understand why there is no security guard! Also, staff is rarely at the front desk so packages are left behind the desk unattended! The elevator is constantly out of order and dog waste bags are not offered. There's only a gross pooper scooper left on the ground for residents to use. I would say the worst part of living here is that my maintenance requests have constantly been ignored for the past five months. My fridge and ice machine was broken for the first four months I lived here and I constantly had to put in maintenance requests for them to be fixed. To date I have literally placed two dozen maintenance requests! The washer and dryer, and most of the appliances are old and definitely need to be replaced. The building looks beautiful from the outside but once you move in it's a nightmare! I totally regret signing my lease and cannot wait for it to end. Staff and management at City View do not care about maintaining its property or making residents happy. There are nicer, less expensive apartments in Houston that offer far better amenities and actual customer service.

The building is very secure, we had to be escorted via elevator to the party room on the 8th floor. The views were gorgeous and the room was very comfortable with plenty of seating for about 45 people. They had setups for food and drinks and we really enjoyed the facility. Within a month, the elevator in my building also went down which made my son's move-out (moved with me temporarily while waiting for college apartment) extremely difficult as we live on the 3rd floor and had to navigate carrying all of his furniture down several stairwells. Almost a month later, and that elevator is still down. I have submitted 5 work orders in less than a month. The AC keeps going out. The 1st time it was "fixed", a leak in the utility closet where the vent is located leaked profusely, soaking all item contained within and damaging the floor and trim. Less than 2 weeks later, I come home to no AC again. On top of that, my AC bill was over $420 as the AC runs continuously to try to maintain a temperature of 82-84 (and that's the cool part of the apartment). I chose this property for the location, size of the apartment and because it looked nice; however, there are many other properties. Edit: The maintenance team is very responsive and I see them always working hard, so I don't knock them. You can tell that the maintenance supervisor, Kendall, and Emo truly care about the residents satisfaction. I was told that a new AC unit would be installed soon, so will update thereafter.

Downtown is noisy and restaurants are expensive but.... that's downtown any where you live. The windows are pretty sound proof and I feel very safe with the security at the front. They won't let anyone in unless you're on an authorized list plus you have to have a special parking sticker on your car. They throw great events at the apartment- not to mention Minute Maid Park within walking distance! Osso and kristalla, Potente are fabulous we love having it right below us. Food trucks- you name it. The staff here ROCKS. we had an issue with our ac (it was 109 outside) and they took care of it with in less than 24 hours. Plus we had an issue with a leak and they fixed it and replaced EVERYTHING. so awesome. Needless to say, we will be living here for a while. We don't want to leave! Throughout our shortened tenancy, marijuana smoke from neighboring apartments regularly entered our unit, making it difficult to enjoy our home. We reported the issue more than 30 times over a 90-day period and even provided management with a video showing our neighbor smoking marijuana on his balcony. What was most disappointing was not that the issue occurred, but that it persisted for months despite repeated reports and documented evidence. Despite these efforts, the problem continued with little meaningful action or improvement. Community rules and lease terms only work when they are enforced consistently. Residents who follow the rules should not have to endure ongoing lease violations that interfere with the quiet enjoyment of their homes. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at 500 Crawford. If responsive management and consistent enforcement of community standards are important to you, I would encourage you to carefully consider other options.
