Really solid gym for a drop in. Smart, very welcoming coaches. Made me feel at home. Also everyone in the class gets after it. Thanks team, keep crushing. -Ethan read more

This gym has one goal and one goal only. Depending on the day, I have heard nothing but encouragement and boot camp shout outs from the trainers. Their method of getting you into shape is not for the weak. They open before the crack of dawn. This type of gym is what I would consider open air. It almost has the appearance of what was once a garage shop that fixed cars. On both sides of the gym they have garage doors that stay open. read more

I love this place. I dropped in after driving by, and I wasn't disappointed. Crossfit gyms are so hit or miss - either the programming is insane or the people are, and everyone here was so warm and welcoming. It's a smaller box but I was pleasantly surprised and after the partner WOD, felt totally at home. Can't wait to spend more time here :) read more

Riptide is a great place! Our trainer, Santiago, is excellent! He pushes us yet keeps the pace reasonable. He is encouraging and very smart and well-informed about how to enhance our fitness level. He really knows his stuff. He is personable and down to earth and makes working out something we look forward to (did I really just say that!!). read more

Wife and I went for a workout this morning at the 6:30 class. Santiago was our coach today. He was fantastic. The class was great. The other members were great to workout with! I would, without a second thought return for drop ins when in town! read more

There are no words to express how much I love this box. It is a community, it is a culture, it is a lifestyle, full of challenges as well as rewards. But I enjoy everything about it from the encouraging and extremely patient coaches to the amazing new friends I've made. Friends that help me and cheer me on as if I've known them for years and not just 2 mos. No matter how stressful my job is or how frustrating life's disappointments have been, I know that I can walk in here and for 1 1/2 hours everything is ok in the world. It's a positive vibe, an overwhelming feeling of happiness, part of the balance of my life. Whenever people used to say to me "everything happens for a reason" I would hear "i feel sorry for you." But one Saturday I pulled up to this garage looking gym and all the lights were off and I thought they were closed. But they weren't, and inside were some pretty cool people shooting a video and from then on, that quote and everything else changed. read more

Thanks Santiago and Riptide for being so welcoming. Great workout and Santiago did a super job coaching. I was just in town for the day and needed a 12n class to drop in and it was super. Loved the community and the guys in my class were super fun! Bryan, thanks so much for giving me a ride back to where I was staying. This is what CF is all about! Keep up the great work! Riptide CrossFit - Visiting Riptide CrossFit in Ft. Lauderdale. #riptidecrossfit #riptide - Interval Training Gyms Near Me - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I finally got off the couch and headed over. Mind you I'm terribly out of shape so my initial fear was passing out in front of everybody. You first walk-in and see these phenomenal athletes pushing themselves and of course I was automatically intimidated. Just as that's starting to sink in, we were greeted by Gilbert and he calmed the storm just as fast. His warm approach and introduction stirred up a fire in my belly and I was ready for action. He warmed us up, explained each workout throughly and corrected us if we didn't execute it correctly. Stretched us out at the end and explained more about RipTide. He was definitely awesome and I was so thankful to have met him. Myself and fiancé were more than pleased. Thank you Gilbert. The Gym was clean and has everything you need for a great workout.. Great Atmosphere!!! read more

Moved from Miami to Fort Lauderdale after 7 years of Crossfit at another box. I searched all the local Crossfit gyms prior to committing to Riptide. Instantly, the coaches and members made me feel like family. The coaches are top notch and they all follow the same methodologies to keep things consistent from class to class. It's a small box but extremely efficient to establish plenty of room for everyone. read more

This is a great gym in general, my girlfriend and I dealt with Corey directly about visiting while on vacation and it was a great environment! We had to scale/modify because of our knees from running a while back and they were able to do it right on the spot and show us the movements. Corey really helped with the details of the workout not just with us but with the class as well and really took the time to go through the movements to insure that no one would be hurting themselves in the long term. All in all, definitely recommend if you're from out of state on vacation, visiting or if you're in town, JOIN THIS GYM ASAP!!! read more

I just finished my first on ramp class and loved it!! My arms are so sore I can barely type this. What I loved about rip tide was that everyone in my class was brand new and Rob taught us how to do each position so we wouldn't injure ourselves!! It was very motivating and a killer workout!! Looking forward to going back.... If I can walk that is!! ;-) read more

As a Crossfitter on vacation, you look for places to drop in and get a workout. After talking to my sister about CrossFit she agreed to join me at Riptide. What a nice gym! Not only the workout was fun but the coach was super nice with my sister who knew nothing about Crossfit. I highly recommend anyone who wants to try Crossfit or any Crossfitter looking for a drop in. Great place, great community. read more

I absolutely love CrossFit. Not just because of the workouts (those actually suck), but because of the energy of this gym. Rob instantly recognizes people's skill levels and pushes them to their own limits. Everyone at the gym is so inspiring and so communal. I absolutely love it! read more

Though I live in Miami, I try to make it up to Riptide as much as possible because the coaches and members are just that amazing. This box is focused on helping you improve yourself, your life and the community! New to CrossFit... no problem, they will walk you through it. Experienced rx pro... no problem, they will help push you to a new level. Riptide, thank you for always making me feel welcome and part of your community. read more

Dropped in here during a recent visit to Florida. The gym is on the smaller side, but they had ample room for a class and all the necessary equipment. Plus, most gyms have 1 garage door, but Riptide has large doors on 3 out of the 4 walls, which makes air flow nicely through the space. This may sound like a strange thing to notice, but during a workout in the Florida heat, this comes in handy. Good workouts that focus on strength and technique. Riptide isn't one of those gyms that just wants you to throw around heavy weights, their programming makes you a solid all-around athlete. The coaching was great, and I got some helpful pointers. Additionally, there was a great sense of community and friendly people. Next time I'm in Ft. Lauderdale, I will go back to Riptide. read more

I've been training in Riptide for almost a year now and I'm very happy with the experience. The best part is the coaching, all the coaching team pay much attention to detail and safety of all the athletes. Besides that the community is great, very friendly environment and plenty of activities throughout the year so you'll never get bored. Definitely recommended. read more

My first experience in crossfit and I couldn't ask to join a better place. Very welcoming, community driven and fun environment! Coaches are very detail orientated and want all athletes to progress and reach their goals. I definitely suggest anyone with fitness goals to stop in and give it a shot! read more

Great gym! Had Santi as a coach, and he was extremely welcoming and helpful. Also added great energy to the class by cheering everyone on during the WOD. It's a smaller box but that just added to the positive vibe. I definitely suggest dropping in on your next visit to Ft. Laud! read more

I moved to the Fort Lauderdale area in Jan of 2015. I tried several boxes in the area prior to making my way over to Riptide, and I have to say this is by far the best box I tried. The coaches were immediately welcoming, introducing themselves and the class to me. They spend time focusing on mobility AND strength, not just a brutal series of metcons every day (though the metcons are varied and constantly challenging for sure), and most importantly, that welcome introduction on my first day was not just a fluke. In my few weeks at the box, you really get a sense of how important building a community is to everyone there. On top of that, the coaches are talented, informed, and most importantly they care about your development. Definitely a stand out among the other boxes in the area. I would recommend this place to anyone dropping in or looking for a box to call home. read more

Best gym I have ever been too! I walked in not knowing what to expect and ended up falling in love. Everyone is very nice and also very motivating. All of the members come together to do workouts, challenges and community service. I suggest this box to everyone! read more

Riptide Crossfit is truly an amazing place to be a part of! The coaches/trainers are so motivating, friendly, helpful and inspiring. I started 4 months ago and I can't imagine my life without it now! I thought I could never do this type of work out so going in I was very intimidated, but that quickly changed my very 1st work out, the trainers put me at ease with their impeccable direction and encouragement. I can't say enough great things about this place! If you are thinking of trying Crossfit then you should definitely stop by Riptide and check it out! You won't be disappointed :) read more

This gym is AWESOME... I was in pretty good shape when I had my first "WOD" (which stand's for work out of the day for anyone who hasn't tried Crossfit) My class was made up of men and women of various different ages and fitness levels... Our instructor, who I believe was from Boston, was a Hot Irishman named Rob. Rob walked everyone through the correct postures, encouraged us all individually, and still managed to keep the class energized and fun... I was seriously impressed... I also got one of the best workouts of my life! When I signed up for my first Crossfit session... I expected it to be a gym full of super humans all lifting 1000lbs with their pinky... That's what a lot of the reviews on other area Crossfit gyms described, at Riptide, I received an entirely different experience, the staff are all friendly and personable "normal" people, the gym is not pretentious at all. I felt welcomed immediately and not intimidated... I did however get my butt kicked by my instructor and had a Fantastic time! Great neighborhood gym I will definitely be working out at all summer! Also... This gym has an unbeatable special... they give you 6 free beginner sessions where they teach you the Crossfit basics.. Who else allows you to try their class for free?! read more

You will never find another crossfit like this one. It is a total community. The owners make every class fun and a guaranteed good work out. I love everyone who belongs to this box. Everyone is super welcoming to new comers, everyone pushes eachother to be better and there is a competitive aspect that is great for making yourself stronger. If you like working out but prefer to do it in a social setting, like me, then there is that aspect as well. This xfit has all ages that attend and they tailor the workouts for everyone so that we all can still compete against eachother no matter what level/sex/age you are. This place was such a great find!!! read more

Been going here for over 3 years and absolutely love it. The coaching staff invests a great amount of time in the results you are looking for. They work around all individuals young, old, injured etc... Not only do we train together, but we also at times have special events where camaraderie is formed. I don't consider the staff and members of Riptide acquaintances but more like family. Highly recommend that if you are looking for a good location to train that will make you feel at home, Riptide is the place. read more

Riptide was the first and only crossfit gym I have ever experienced, but one of the best decisions I made. If you are considering crossfit, but are apprehensive, I have been in your shoes and would just advise that you give it a shot. There are no short cuts to getting in shape, so understand that it's not for people who aren't determined. If you are insecure, don't be, I have the utmost respect and admiration for anybody that participates in a 60 minute crossfit class. I have been attending class for the last 6 months non-stop, mostly 4 times a week and I can honestly say I look forward to the days workout even when I'm rolling out of bed unable to move from the prior day's WOD. The coaches and the classes are why I keep going. Corey, Najeeb, and Santi are very welcoming and engaged in every class. They energize me when I may be feeling unmotivated that particular day, they provide positive encouragement when I'm feeling unsure about my technique or performance, and they always push me to progress and achieve more than I did yesterday. I really admire all 3 of them for the leadership they provide to the class and the culture that they have created at Riptide. If you are unsure about the monthly cost, I am not really sure how it compares, but I have always been satisfied with what my monthly fee covers and I enjoy supporting the local small business. If you are looking for an intense workout that gets results, check out Riptide. read more
