I got to an understanding that I had to try, listen and see what was being offered to me there. Only until I got out of my head was I able to see the beautiful truth: how the staff was deeply caring, but stern. How the rules were there to keep myself and the others on track. And how the schedule was expertly crafted to offer me every opportunity to learn and grow. The creme de la creme of the place, although, are the counselors. They are truly some of the most caring and empathic people I was surprised existed. You are assigned a primary counselor, but many are available and willing to listen. Which is great because it really helps when you find one that has a style you can identify with. There are 3 counselors in particular that stand out in my mind. A Barbarian, Bard, and a Sorceress (I'm a bit of a geek) that are willing to use their talents to help you get to the next paige of your life. This place is magic and I thank the stars it found me. Recently, I was reminded of his saying when I got many loads of free mulch that I had to haul and spread in flower beds, garden, and trails. From all the repetitive motions, I ended up with tennis elbow. That's how I ended up at this place. Over a 4 week period, I went in for physical therapy on my right elbow. I had the pleasure of working with 4 different therapist - Olivia, 2 different Jessica's, and Becky. They were all wonderful and really took outstanding care of me. The only thing that brought my rating down was that I was supposed to have medicine placed on an electrically charged pad and placed on my elbow for 24 hours after each visit. Unfortunately, they ran out of pads after 3 visits, so I did not get them for the other 5 treatments. Without the hard work of those great ladies, the rating for the business would have been a 2! If you need some physical therapy, these ladies will treat you right! I would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you, ladies:-)

I live about 40 min away so I asked if I could come in the next day to pick it up and they had lost it and asked me to come back the following day. I had also come in for an overseas physical and needed one paper signed, I didn't have it but my doctor told me to come back anyday so she could sign it. The doctor called out the following 3 days in a row, I can never get anyone on the phone, I only talk to a robot, so each day I had to drive 40 min there and 40 min back. A random nurse sent me to another location saying I was in the wrong spot. I told her my husband made the appointment here for me and then she asked me if I or my husband worked there- I said no, then she said exactly, so I know what im talking about and you don't. The people at the other place told me no, I am supposed to be at Schertz Medical Home and not at that location. When I came back to them they tried sending me away again. I asked to speak to my doctor and they told me no, I asked for my doctors email and they told me no. I said My doctor knows I was supposed to be here because she asked me to come in whenever. Finally the receptionist told me she would try and call someone. She then told me everyone was at lunch and to come back the following day AGAIN. I told her I would wait till they were done at lunch, she rolled her eyes and said she would go find someone if I was gonna wait. Someone came out shortly and I was able to get my paper signed. Moral of the story, they were the absolute worst, rude and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Everyone was so kind, helpful, and patient with me in explaining benefits and how much I would be paying per visit. While I was there, I noticed the front office employees dealing with clients in the exact same professional yet polite manner. Dr. Felix Guerra knew exactly how to start strengthening the muscles that surround my lower back to ease some of the pain. He also gave me a handout to take home with the exercises so I can keep doing them between visits. I woke up this morning and was able to get up with better mobility than I have in a long time. I would highly recommend coming here if you need physical therapy!

This was literally the worst medical experience I have ever had. I came in with a running injury…read moreand I was told to stop all lower body workouts, to stop running during the treatment, and to consider retiring from running entirely (I am not even 30 and have never had an injury before this). Dr. Bussey never even asked to see my running form! I would always have to wait at least 20 minutes minimum (up to 45 minutes once) to see him. He never made adjustments to my treatment plan and when I told him of new pain, he would dismiss it, blaming it on my lifestyle choices without asking about them (though I did the same lifestyle choices with no pain prior to the injury). Due to not working out my lower body, I actually got worse by the end of my time with him. He had an attitude that gave me the impression he was disinterested and burnt out and every time I would tell him about my new pains, he would dismiss them, so I never returned. DO NOT GO TO THIS PHYSICAL THERAPIST. I did like the front office girls and the techs - that is the only redemptive part of the experience. If you are looking for amazing Physical Therapists, GO TO PROMOTION!!! Promotion Physical Therapy has a Stone Oak location as well as many others throughout San Antonio. I went to them a few months after my time with Dr Bussey where I couldn't even tolerate sitting for more than 45 minutes (at its worse, I couldn't even last 10 minutes - like I said, I got WORSE under Dr. Bussey's care). It turns out I was a "complex case," but Dr. Oliva and Dr. Papke who were both assigned to my case took the time to sit, listen, constantly reassess, and explain what was going on. I have predominantly worked with Dr. Papke, and I am so grateful for how kind, validating, and competent he is. I no longer have daily pains & am slowly upping my running volume, which I have been trying to do since my injury in November!
