He lies a lot to justify his high charges like 2 visits though there's only one and even faked on visit notes after I told him that he didn't exam my son at all just talked. He asked us to do 2 rounds of blood tests but still no clue about what to do next when I asked. Not only the doctor is the worst ever seen, the doctor office is worst ever as well. After talked with the doctor office for 3 days about the referral mentioning my son is suffering from daily headaches, I finally got a message from the office manager saying that the visit happened in August 15th, and I have to see another provider in the office for the referral only after the first provider charged me $660 without being able to do anything. That provider is expected to give us this referral during the visit if he has any knowledge about headaches. He delayed the diagnosis because of his incapability, charged us very high without any help. Now he even wouldn't write the referral after we know what type of specialist to see after 2nd opinion with a headache specialist. The only thing they care about is making as much as money from you but without providing any results. This is the worst ever experience not only from a doctor, but from any doctor office. I will contact related attorneys to see how this can be handled. The doctor and the office has caused long delays of the diagnosis and suffering of my son. After 2 weeks I asked for records sent to 2nd opinion including talking to the officer manager or supervisor twice, they didn't do anything though they said they would work on them. Now it turns out not only the doctor lied a lot, but the office manager or supervisor too. What kind of practice it is?!!! A place robbing patient's money without any service?

She's helped me across several difficult issues, and I learned a lot about my diet, inflammation, and working to solve my body's reliance on multiple allopathic drugs. I have always believed in having both MDs and NDs on my team, and I would highly recommend her to all of my friends and colleagues, both local and remote. Her depth of knowledge, professionalism, and above all, super friendly attitude towards complex problems made tough decisions much easier. I am here today in the best shape of my life because of her guidance. I'm beyond blessed, grateful, and thankful for everything she has done for me. Trust me, she can for you as well.

Going to see her is fun rather than stress-inducing, because I always come away feeling that together we can make progress toward my health goals.

Even the most basic visits--such as routine annual wellness/annual physical exams--are repeatedly billed incorrectly, with improper codes submitted to insurance. This has happened to me two years in a row. Each time, the result has been hundreds of dollars out of pocket and significant time wasted correcting errors that should never have occurred. I raised these issues multiple times directly with my physician and with Audrey, the practice manager. There has been zero response and no attempt to resolve the problem. If this is how the practice handles routine preventive care, I cannot imagine how poorly it would perform if a patient were genuinely ill or required ongoing medical attention. Frankly, socialized medicine in a third world country would be preferable to the dysfunction I've experienced here. I do not recommend Coal Creek Family Medicine.

You'll never see the same doctor twice because they never stay. I met with some terrific doctors at this practice (Dan, Shannon, Jen), the sad reality is that the dysfunctional managers/ staff make it impossible to retain decent doctors. I was on my 3rd doctor, Jennifer Johnson (she is AMAZING) however like all those before her, she no longer works there. I only found out Dr. Johnson had departed when I tried to book a follow-up appointment. As per usual, the receptionist was cagey with me, never disclosed that my Doctor was no longer working there. Then we spent another 20 minutes talking about my cold, tests we could do and ways I can improve my health. My appointment lasted almost an hour and I left feeling great that I finally have a doctor 1) I love and 2) I don't have to worry about the insurance game to see her. I had heard great things over the years about Boulder Heart. In fact, my brother-in-law, a…read moreurologist in CT even recommended someone there to me, but I was unable to get an appointment with that doctor, so I don't know if he would have been better. I'd had a bad experience with a cardiologist at UC Longs Peak who essentially gaslighted me. Didn't answer one question about my condition and had no recommendations. I should say now that I had a severe attack of pericarditis, fluid and inflammation in the lining around the heart. It turns out that the doctors around here don't know anything about it if it doesn't just go away on its own. This is a problem. But, back to Boulder Heart, and Dr. John Schutz and how they run their Erie clinic. I first saw a PA in Boulder who I liked a lot, she didn't know much about the condition, but was supportive. My BIL set that up for me prior to seeing Dr. Schutz weeks later. You wait at least 3 months to see doctors, and they're not very available in between. The first visit was good. Dr. Schutz is a very nice man. He told me to stay on the medication another doctor had started me on at the ER for 90 days, and then to just stop. That immediately didn't feel right, but apparently that's what his literature said about the medication and this condition. I saw a different story online when I researched, with this condition not just magically going away like that, but he convinced me to just stop the meds at 90 days in, even though I told him I was still getting some fluttering in my chest. That was September of last year. He said he'd be there to support me if anything went wrong, but he said it wouldn't. I trusted him. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of dropping the medication, the condition came raging back. I called, I wrote in the portal, I spoke to his MA. The doctor was "unavailable" and the whole clinic, including their clinic manager in Erie treated me as if I were an invasive species instead of a patient in need! Days later, I put myself back on the medication. Since I was unable to reach Dr. Schutz and his clinic manager not only refused to help me, but essentially told me to go away, I went to my rheumatologist. She's literally the only doctor who has any idea about this condition in this area that I can find. Thank God for her! Pericarditis can be a tricky condition that can reoccur. There are protocols for managing it individually for each patient as my rheumatologist does, but it wasn't until I saw Dr. Schutz again over a month later, that he apologized for how I was treated. He finally admitted that he didn't have experience with pericarditis that didn't just go away, and wasn't sure what to do. He didn't even know that the pills I was on had perforations so you can cut them in half. He wanted me to come back to him anyway! What? I had to practically fight with their clinic manager to get a call from the original PA (who was helpful, but apparently not allowed to treat me, because they don't work in teams, and apparently only your assigned doctor can direct care!) His staff was not only useless, but hurtful. I asked Dr. Schutz to please consult with my rheumatologist, but not only didn't he try, but she left him a message that he didn't return. That was it. Why should I keep going to a doctor who didn't bother to even follow through on an agreement like that? I'm currently back with UC Health and a different doctor there who DID consult with my rheumatologist and who also said up front that he didn't know what to do about this condition. At least he was honest. He also tried to find me a specialist in Colorado and let me know that he couldn't find anyone. I'd have to go to the Cleveland Clinic or other specialty clinic out of state, which my insurance will not cover. It's been nearly a year since this whole ordeal started, and I'm slowly weaning off of the medication, so we'll see what happens next. The rheumatologist is there for me if it comes back, she has a plan. It would have been nice had Dr. Schutz admitted he didn't know from the get-go, and if he'd at least tried to learn about it! It's a heart condition, after all! I won't give 1 star for this because at least he's nice. But, he set me back a minimum of 3 months, maybe more, and his staff is not only not patient-focused, they can be downright hostile when a patient is in crisis. There might be better staff there than I experienced, but I won't go back unless I get assurances that they know what they're doing and have changed their attitude. Everyone doesn't need to go to the ER. That's what they wanted me to do. I knew what was happening and those who knew the symptoms confirmed it. I didn't need to go through the trauma of IVs and another round of radiation when I've already had a lot. But that's Boulder Heart's only answer. Hell, the first time I went to the ER in May, they misdiagnosed me! U.S. medicine is in horrible shape. How this clinic is run is part of the evidence.

I rebooked and waited three months for the second appointment and it was canceled on the day of the appointment. I don't think there are any good cardiologists here who have reasonably quick appointment times. The person that I talked to said that it was because they can't fill open positions for Cardiologist. Most likely because of the expanse of living in Boulder and the pay that they get. Boulder Heart is not state-of-the-art. It's barely keeping up with cookie cutter answers to physical questions. Unfortunately, there are not very many other places to go unless you wanna go to Denver. Don't try contacting them with a complaint because they will not respond.
