We have taken our dogs here since I was a kid. Once I got my own dog I was living in Morgantown, WV…read morefor school. I always brought my dog back home for routine vet visits because of this places prices. No where else compares to the down to earth people here. The Dr. isnt going to act like your best friend but he will for sure take care of your pet and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. My real opinion of this place changed when my elderly dog needed a teeth cleaning and 2 teeth pulled. The vet I had established care with in Morgantown (for emergencies and nail trimmings) quoted me almost $2,000 for this. I quickly called Pocatalico to get a quote and it was so much cheaper. I made my dog an appointment and reworked my school schedule just to drive the 3 hours for my dog to be seen here instead of Morgantown. What Morgantown wanted to charge me $2,000 for cost me $177 at Pocatalico. Morgantown quoted me $700 for anesthesia for the cleaning. Pocatalico's $177 included all the anesthesia, antibiotics, fluids, and the procedure. Plus the true love and caring of the staff. I will always bring my dogs here for routine care and planned procedures no matter where I move to. It is 100% worth the drive to me. Growing up and having this vet set my standards for other vets quickly made me realize what a blessing they are to the community. I will never take my business elsewhere if I can help it.

This woman answered and kindly showed me everything she was busy with. Propagations, koi breeding/outdoor fish of all life stages, water plants, all kinds of ornamentals and more. She showed us her insanely huge koi pond setup with tons of giant koi that were several feet long and would even let you pet them and acted like they liked it! She had all sorts of tips and tricks for me as a beginner and she even gave me deep discounts on everything I bought because it was close to the end of the season. Idk about right now but when I've went in the past she has box's for money with plant living next to it. It's on the honor system so if she isn't there when you go you can still grab what ya want. Very cool mom n pop setup from someone that just loves nature, plants and animals and happens to be good at nurturing it and made a side hustle out of it to support her plant and koi habit

I attended my nephew's wedding at this venue this past weekend and was very disappointed with the…read morevenue's lack of follow thru. The couple expected horses in their stalls to greet the guests and there were none. My brother had to ask for the empty stalls to be mucked out because they stunk from 'a lot more than a day's worth' of horse crap. The horses were out in the far pastures and barely visible from the venue. It wasn't what we expected but it wasn't our worst problem. About an hour into the reception the bride and groom readied for pictures cutting their three tiered wedding cake. The cake had been set up in the air conditioned reception hall surrounded by beautiful cupcakes. When the couple stepped behind the cake, it and the cupcakes were COVERED in ants. It was a total loss, there wasn't a single cupcake or tier they hadn't attacked. The bride took this in stride and handled it with more grace than could have been expected. I was very proud of her! After the happy couple left and we started cleanup a venue person arrived. When told about the ants ruining the cake she asked if we were sure that we didn't bring them in with the cake. What a stupid thing to say! As if we would accept and set up an ant covered cake. After glancing around a minute she then said "We've only had this happen one other time." I wanted to choke her! There were no offers to reduce the bill or even a sincere apology. I'm not a person who writes many reviews but this experience stung! It was not all it could have been, buyer beware of this place.

With great owners and a huge supply of wedding decorations you also get a temperature controlled reception space (super important for anytime of year) as well as an indoor restroom and bride/groom rooms to get ready. My husband and I were married there in 2021 and we literally didn't have to spend one cent on decorations which is huge because what do you do with all those after the wedding is over? Decorate your living room? I think not, lol. The outdoor space for the ceremony was perfect as well as the indoor reception space which was air conditioned in July (there's also heat for weddings on chilly days). Oh and did I mention that all this comes at a fraction of the price that other venues in the area are asking? Lovin Life Stables is a dream venue.
