I had just spent a whole lot of money on the Christmas holiday and had $664 left to spare for my cat to receive help. As I explained to Dr Leadman that I would be paid in a week from work again, if there were anything else past the 664 I was able to pay that day then I would gladly pay the remainder of the bill in a week. I was immediately shot down and they made sure the bill came out to exactly $664. Well then a front desk staff member called me to ask if my cat was any better and I told her he was not. She said she would note that on my chart for Dr Leadman but she knew that I had said that I didn't get paid for a week. Well would you believe that down to the exact day that following week. DR LEADMAN calls and leaves a voicemail to check in and see how things are going and if my cat wasn't doing any better then "I may want to bring him back in for another exam and maybe some more x-rays." I would have more respect for that voicemail had she came right out and just said "We know you got your paycheck today, so come back in and we can see what amount you are willing to waste on another trip here and send you home with a cat that is still sick. BRING MONEY!!!" Like I said at the beginning of this review, most of the veterinary care that my pets received here was great, Dr. Dascolli was amazing and several other experiences there were also fine, but to bleed anyone down to the exact dollar amount they tell you they have to spare AND send them and their pet home still sick and suffering, THEN call back "to check in" the day that you know there is more money that you can possibly rip them off for? That's despicable and enough for me to never return there again for any reason. Lesson learned!

Trusting these people I didn't think anything of it until I go to take the collar off and she has an open sore around her neck from the collar. I called the vet, upset as anybody would be, and I was met with no apology. I was then hung up on by the front desk clerk or whoever took the phone from her. I would never take my animals here again, especially with how they handled their mistake.

Good old fashioned medicine- Dr. Grady is our hero!…read more I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Grady and the entire team at Dunbar Animal Hospital... She is, quite possibly, the smartest vet i've come across in the past 6 years. Her clinical acumen is on point and her overall philosophy and judicious use of diagnostics is a rarity these day. Dr. Grady is a super well-rounded vet. No frivolous anything. Just good old fashioned medicine. My senior dog has a million and one ongoing and new issues. She previously saw internists, cardiologists, dermatologist, etc when we lived in a big city. Dr. Grady wears all these hats, and then some. She has confidently helped us navigate thru serious issues such as (high-suspicion for) bladder cancer, extensive atopy, severe pancreatitis, and new diagnosis of diabetes. Her ability to synthesize all aspects of my baby's care is impressive. Dr. Grady is, quite simply, the whole package. Yes, the wait times are long for walk-ins. Yes, the hold-times on the phone are long. We always try to make an appointment. Everyone has been extremely helpful and PATIENT... Dr. Grady recently spent over 30 minutes at lunchtime going over results with me and answering all my questions. She goes above and beyond for the pet and their owner. A while back Dr. Grady was interviewed by the Daily Mail about Vet Schools (or the lack thereof) in WV. My hope is that until WV has a vet school- Vet's such as Dr. Grady continue to come back home to WV to take care of our community. Her kindness, selflessness, and dedication inspire me. I trust her with my most precious love, and that says a lot. Not sure we could have made it this far without Dr. Grady.. so from the bottom of my heart, thank you. We appreciate you and everyone at Dunbar Animal Hospital

Marshall our rescue boy was sent to James for in-boarding training to become my service dog…read more Throughout Marshall's training James kept us informed via messages, photos and with videos of Marshall's training in progress. Marshall became very fond of James and his colleagues and it gave us a sense of ease that Marshall was enjoying his training and new work. James even took Marshall home with him and Out into public places like red restaurants and in stores etc. Marshall is now a very confident and well trained service dog accompanying me to many hospitals whilst I undergo hours of treatments, scans and office visits. I absolutely recommend James and his positive training methods whether it's obedience training or other training. I have included some photos/video of Marshall at hospital and in the grocery store. James has turned an abused rescue dog into my shadow and we are both enjoying traveling together without worry. 5/5*****

He came to our house and worked with several of us on training our pit/Rhodesian ridgeback mix, Scrappy-Doo. James gave us the tools we need to continue working with scrappy everyday. Scrappy has come a long way and so have we in the way that we teach him. We are very happy with the training we received and would highly recommend to others.
